Upgraded strap from H1, connects to Polar app

I was looking for a HRM strap & watch combo that syncs to the Polar app, but unfortunately the (H1) strap that is included with most of the Polar HRM watches is a lower model and does not have the capability to sync with the Polar app. So I had to purchase this (H7) strap separately and additionally to the Polar FT4. While this H7 strap does give me the capability to sync to the app it still only provides very basic data and does not provide the level of information I am looking for nor offer the features I could only get from a more advanced model watch. Also, it does not sync to the desktop website so apparently there is yet another additional component that I need to purchase (Flow Link/Flow Sync?). I'm not happy that my purchase has now double-tripled in cost with all of the separate components I now have to purchase.

I bought this sensor strap to upgrade to Bluetooth connectivity. Unfortunately, I didn't do my homework to make sure it worked with my Polar wrist monitor. This wasn't a deal breaker since Polar has a free app for iOS that this strap works with. I didn't have any problems pairing the sensor with my phone and the app picked it up without incident. Even though Polar's app to work with this strap is free, if you want any of the coaching features, they'll cost you a few measly bucks and can be purchased in-app, of course (did you think they wouldn't?). It works as well as any other Polar product I've owned - and I wouldn't continue to buy Polar products if they didn't work as I expected them to.

Heart rate added to my runs

I am using this with runkeeper so that I can see my heart rate, speed, and elevation changes after my run. It also works with my NordicTrac treadmill and polar HRM watch. I found that to get the Bluetooth to work on my LG tribute phone, I had to download and connect with the Polar App. Once I started that, it has no issue being found by runkeeper. The monitor that snaps into the chest strap is a little bigger than the one I replaced (lost during business trip). The size is not a problem. I keep one side always snapped to try not to lose this one. Overall, I really like having the data as it is motivational and helps change workout goals (constant hr, up and down hr, rising hr...)

This is a handy tool for anyone who wants to get an objective measure of their workout by measuring heart rate. 1. I wish it could sinc it to a wrist display besides my phone. When I am on a trainer or treadmill it's easy to look at my phone, but not on a bike or running on the road. 2. The battery died after the third use, in the middle of a workout. I changed the battery and haven't had a problem since. Does it keep on transmitting when it's attached to the band or does it turn off automatically? Directions don't say. Given all this, it's a good device. Easy to read, clear data output. Comfortable to wear. (No Velcro to scratch you)

Connects to phone without problems, also to hrm. No issues. The strap is a little tricky to close, the hook and loop on the garmin is quicker to use.

it's just an elastic strap with a sensor area, snaps and a pod with the electronics and it does a great job measuring heart rate and transmitting it to my iPhone 6+. The pod contains the battery and, if I understand correctly as long as it isn't snapped to the strap, isn't discharging the battery which is nice for saving battery while not in use. The strap fits snug as it needs to be and is easy to wash after a workout. I haven't noticed any issues with damage yet and I've used it pretty often already. The one thing that could be improved is the method of attaching the ends of the strap to each other when putting it on. It's just a plastic hook on one end and a nylon loop on the other. It can take a few tries getting the hook through the loop but this is a minor issue so far. To complete the system, there is an app to download to the phone that receives the signal from the pod. It's a free app but there are upgrades that I bought like the fitness test, energy pointer and benefit target that give a little more information which I thought was worth the cost. The information transferred to the app then gets uploaded to a training website and there is a bunch more information and graphs that parse the data into useful information about what's happening with your health. I had some rewards certificate money available and the heart rate monitor was on sale at Amazon. Best Buy matched the Amazon price so I was able to get a good deal on it and for a little money, I've picked up what has turned out to be a pretty good prod to get myself doing some cardio work. The fitness test has shown that I've improved a lot since I started using it so in the end, it has done everything I wanted it to do.

I bought this heart rate monitor so that I could keep track of the exercises I have been doing for my fitness class. This BT heart rate monitor works great in conjunction with the free app they provide. I've used it for both indoor and outdoor exercise and it has helped me ensure that I am putting enough effort into my exercises and that I am hitting my target HR. The only problem I have had with it is sometimes I had some trouble getting it to connect to my phone while outdoors, but I can usually fix this by toggling my phone's BT radio off then on again. I recommend this product to anyone going into fitness. Don't forget to moisten the contacts. ;-)

I got this to replace a watch/monitor combo that was not working well and which was extremely complicated to use. This works well and isn't complicated to use once you find an app to use with it. Since I always have my phone (for tunes, if nothing else!), this is way better than messing around with a clunky watch. When I bought it, Polar had not opened up their "Beat" app to my Android phone. Google's tracking app won't recognize the device. I found a third party app that seems to work pretty well and, actually, works much better than Polar's Beat app (which they recently released for my phone). Through the third party app, along with the "extra cost" options in that app, I can export my logs, view a chart of my heart rate over time, and view a map showing my heart rate along the path I took. All of this is easier than my previous watch/strap combo. The big bonus, however, is that the machines at the gym all recognize it and automatically display my heart rate now.

Although I had difficulty for the first few days to pair the HR monitor with my iPhone, one phone call to the Polar customer service solved the problem. They asked me to "forget the device" from iPhone settings and let Polar Beat app do the pairing. The device has been working very well since then. Note that the Best Buy customer service in 3 different stores did not know this simple solution when I approached them. I am very happy with my purchase and use it regularly during my treadmill walk.

Good Upgrade From 10 Yrd Old Polar Strap

Just now getting back into HRM and the strap works as advertised, it paired easily with free Polar Beat app on Android, although that app is basic, so I may try the iCardio app and pay for the HRM Sensor Support, $5.99. Interesting that my 10 year Cybex Arc Trainer picked up the HRM, but the HRM readings between the Cybex and the Polar Beat were off by 10-40 BPM ... I attribute that to having an old Cybex machine because there is no way my heart was beating as fast as the Cybex reading said it was.

I was looking for a heart rate strap that would link to my Note 4 so I could capture heart rate information when I used my fitness tracking apps. This belt has been fantastic for that. It was easy to pair to the phone in the first place, and it links up almost instantly when I use it. The strap is comfortable, and the fact that I can replace the battery if needed is a binus.

I have been using this for several weeks and found that the monitor seems accurate. As with most chest strap based monitors, I find that unless I really get my chest and the monitor really wet before I start running, the readings are erratic and all over the place until I work up a good sweat. The bluetooth link to my iPhone 4S seems to work pretty well, but I have had issues with the link to Gym Equipment and even an older Polar watch -- after several minutes the connection is lost to the Gym Equipment and/or the Polar watch. As I have read other reviews, I would have liked a full featured IOS app to go with this Heart Monitor and not have to purchase an "Upgrade" from their software. I tried this with RunKeeper, Polar Beat, DigiFit and Wahoo Fitness and ended up purchasing the upgraded for DigiBit because it seemed to offer the best features for Heart Rate Zone training. If Polar could make an IOS app that rivals fitness watches, and include some kind of code/credit in the package this would be an ideal purchase.
