This heart rate monitor exceeded my expectations. It graphically shows HR versus speed and terrain. It also records all activities during the day and night.

I bought this as gift to my wife.. She loved it very much. Battery life is really good. Little bit trick to install and configure with app ( might be only with me). Sleep tracking mode, activity mode are really good. we have not tried call notification receiving feature.

    Best Polar HR monitor yet!

This is the best Polar heart rate monitor I've had yet! Operates flawlessly & gives me readings so I can max my workouts. Use it with strength training (weights) & cardio. With chest strap/transmitter I get accurate readings based on heart beats not like wrist types that read off blood flow in arm which can be very inaccurate. Love the size and style of watch, wear it all the time. A REAL PLUS for me is it charges the battery on my computer. No more at gym power failure.

I love this device. Let's you know when you drop out your zone. Tells you what you improved at each workout. Super easy to use. Only flaw for me is I couldn't register it on my Google chromebook.

PE & Health teacher perspective = Great product

I love my polar m400! I will say I am a PE and health teacher and I have always trusted and loved Polar products. For the amount I spent I am definitely satisfied. It keeps track of everything I need it to (calories, pace, HR, and percentage completed of my daily activity goal). I was skeptical at first about how it would be to sleep with it on but I don't even realize that it's on anymore. Also, it looks bulkier in the picture then what it actually as and feels like, in my opinion. I will say I do take it off when I shower but that is just personal preference not actually out of requirement or necessity. It was pretty easy to get set up but sometimes the updates take a bit to get loaded on to the watch (because it has to be done using a Polar program on my computer). It usually takes about 10-15 minutes, from plugging in the device to the end when the device is fully updated.

The watch is perfect for those of us that are new to fitness. The battery life is outstanding and everything is easy to set up. On the down side I have had to return it to Best Buy twice, but their return policy is amazing and the customer service folks have not failed me yet. GET ONE

    Great fitness tracking smart watch

The Polar M400 is exactly what I was looking for in a sports watch. It combines the best of three watches. 1:Smart watch that displays notifications from my IPhone, 2: daily fitness tracker; 3: work out tracker with heart rate. For general fitness tracking, I have the GPS and HRT turned off, which allows for great battery life. when I go running, biking, or hiking, I turn all on and track everything, then I simply sync it to my phone to track my workouts. you can change the workout display to a small set of displays, which include one that I really like so this is ok. One extra feature that I really like is when on travel, I just sync the watch to the iPhone at my destination and the Time auto adjusts also.

I got this because I heard it was better than the Fitbit charge HR. I wanted something that was waterproof enough to where I didn't have to ever really take it off. The display stays on 24/7 which is great because it feels like a real watch. I also needed something different because my Fitbit charge HR gave me rashes. If you are debating between this and the charge HR, I would recommend this. Great product.

Bought this for my wife for her birthday, as she was tired of running with her phone in her pocket. Very happy to have a watch/HR monitor/GPS device that doesn't require a phone for the GPS. She also uses it for other cardio exercise (DVDs when its raining, etc) and says it does a good job monitoring her HR and giving her a calorie burned output.

The polar m400 has a ton of features that I still have yet to uncover. However, working at a desk job most of my day - this thing will alert you when you've been idle too long. It also works as a activity tracker throughout the day, sleep tracker, and (if you have the H7 sensor) works as a heart rate monitor which is way more accurate than my old TIMEX WR30M. Another thing that makes this stand out is the fact you can connect to the POLAR FLOW app on your phone, as well as the M400 will link with your smartphone to alert you on emails, messages, phone calls etc. You can't email back, message back like on a smart watch by Samsung or Apple, but the alert notice is a nice added feature. All in all, I highly recommend this product but there is a lot of stuff I still am learning about it!

This watch is for people who accurate information on their exercise. It has excellent battery life. It has the usual statistics but also has a "relive" function that racetracks your run on the and shows photos of where you went. Unique.

This watch is really great for tracking your running. It's too bulky to wear during the day. I only wear mine during workouts. The buttons and user intuitive as well. Very easy to use.

I am a fitness professional and my interest in tracking my personal progress is beyond what you find in entry level activity trackers; but, does not meet the need of what a professional athlete might want to monitor. This watch is perfect! It tracks daily activity information and alerts me when I need to move. Additionally, when I want more details from of my workout I turn on the GPS and attach the chest strap monitor to record heart rate, speed zones and elevation changes. It is also programmed with a fitness test that measures your VO2 max which helps fine tune into the details if your working out hard enough or not. The reason why I chose this model is that I find having the heart rate monitor on my wrist distracting, of course I want to know my heart rate, but the health of my resting rate is dependent upon my fit rate and it is more important to get accurate information during a workout... and wrist technology doesn't beat the accuracy of chest technology as of this review. The fact that Polar bundles the chest strap with the watch, really gives you the best of both worlds. Side note: They did just release the M 600 but I haven't checked that out 'cause I am VERY satisfied with my M400.

Gave this to my husband who was looking for something to accurately monitor his heart rate. He LOVES this watch and can use it for work, hanging out and also for his weekend adult ice hockey league games. It really is the perfect and most accurate watch on the market.

I did a review of most hrm and ended up with 2 candidates, m400 and garming foreruners 25, do to the comparable features as, mutltisport, gps, etc. finally, i decided by m400 Great to selup the sports of you interest and also a deck of screens within each sport with all the information that you select to see. Battery performance may be an issue if you use gps and ligths on on night rides. Nice indoors training options. Good ios app

Pros: The capabilities of this watch exceeded my expectations. I don't use the app for a smart phone. I sync the watch to my computer and it updates my training session, sleep time, and daily activity to my polar flow tracking page. I wear the watch all day and use the heart monitor when I'm doing cardio. I have yet to use the heart monitor while actually working out. I'm improving my fitness before I start hitting the weights. Cons: Only one I can think of is the wrist band. I don't know about other users but I on occasion had problems securing the wrist band. it's thick and not that flexible. I thought after a month of wearing it, the band could become somewhat more flexible but it has not. That is the only "issue" I have with this training watch. I WOULD DEFINETLY recommend this watch. It's very user friendly.

I've had this watch for a month and it's a great training companion. Tracks heart rate, distance traveled, steps taken, time active (laying down, sitting, walking, and active) and puts everything into charts when synced. Plus, no scratches on the face, yet.

The watch works well but keeping up with the software and firmware upgrades can be a bit daunting. I had the watch working well with the app on my I-pad and (after a firmware update) it stopped syncing. I finally discovered (after doing some searching) that Polar had updated the app also and the watch would no longer work with the previous version of the app. All is working well again. One minor gripe is that the rubber watch band can be a bit difficult to undo since it gets 'stuck' under the surplus band holder.

Most accurate watch at tracking, better than Fitbit. Add the foot pod and calibrate it and it is almost dead accurate. Waterproof for swimming and showering. Connects to the machines at the gym for heart rate and distance. Connects and transfers data easily to app. Great online community to keep interest up.
