Customers frequently mention the BOOM Bit Portable Bluetooth Speaker's excellent sound quality and portability. Its convenient size, long battery life, and ease of USB charging are also frequently praised. While some users note the speaker's bass is limited and it lacks waterproofing, the positive feedback on its sound, portability, and other features outweighs these concerns. The included clip is a particularly appreciated feature for its secure attachment.

I favor Polk Audio sound & build quality since their start in 1972. Surprised that Polk Audio introduced a portable Bluetooth speaker, I jumped at the chance to grab one - especially at the very attractive price point & bright color (Sport Blue).
Set-up is the easiest of any Bluetooth speaker I have connected. Simply press & hold + & - buttons for 2 seconds & go to your phone or tablet. Open Settings / Bluetooth / Select "Connect". Done.
Sound quality is amazing, clear & LOUD! This is a TINY, unobtrusive speaker with BIG SOUND! Clip it to your T-shirt collar & you are good to go (see photo).
Increase / decrease volume by pressing + or -. Change music by holding + or - for 2 seconds. It is very intuitive; adjust volume / select a song once or twice and it comes naturally. The + & - buttons are raised, and you feel them without searching.
Power on / off by holding + & - together for 2 seconds. It makes a cool "Bonk!" sound to identify power on / off. Bluetooth pairing is automatic with on activation. No fuss.
The Li-ion battery lasted 3 Hr. 15 minutes playing loud, beating the claimed 3 Hour battery life.
USB charging with a snug fitting rubber cover to protect it from the elements. Rubberized case protects from drops. Power is rated at 1.5 Watts output! That is amazing for a speaker the size of a Key Fob. Believe it! It plays LOUD!
Telephone conversations are clear and easy to understand. Answer the phone: 2 second hold (+ Button). Hang Up Phone: 2 Second hold (- Button).
CONCLUSION: The Polk Bit is an amazing piece of technology condensed in a beautiful, lightweight, colorful & tiny package. It is "Just Right". Polk hit another Home Run! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND BIT!!

Bit is the world’s first truly wearable speaker

When I first saw this product I didn’t really see the use for such an item. I mean, why would you need to have a small speaker clipped to you when you could just use headphones? Because I like the sound of Polk Audio products, I thought, “Why not give it a try?” Now that I have had the chance to try it out, I have to admit that I like having the ability to wear my music when I use the Bit speaker.
The Bit Speaker ships in simple plastic packaging with the branding stamped on the top half of the plastic with a sticker. There are some creative icons on the back of the sticker that show a variety of activities that could be the various uses of the speaker. Getting into the packaging is a little trying. It’s not as bad as the heat-sealed plastic blister packs that are used for some electronics, but it’s not as easy as slipping open a cardboard box either.
The speaker is not much bigger than a large USB flash drive. It’s very lightweight and durable. I like that there is a cap attached for the integrated USB-A plug. The spring steel clip operates as a paper clip would and simply slides onto your clothing or bag. There is no complicated clipping or snapping mechanism to worry about.
Because space is at a premium on the Bit there are only two function buttons to complete all the commands of the speaker. The included quick start guide spells out the button combinations that are needed to use the speaker. It will take some time for the functions to get memorized by the user.
I’m really glad I gave the Bit Wearable Bluetooth Speaker a try. I love my Apple AirPods, I can’t go for runs or even walks with them as the left AirPod always falls out of my ear. Because it’s a speaker there are no headphones plugging up your ear holes, which can be a safety hazard at times. I have had times where headphones and earbuds have prevented me from hearing traffic and the speaker alleviates that problem.
While the Bit is very small, it is surprisingly loud for its size. That’s a great feature to me as I’m hard of hearing and I find most devices lacking a decent volume level. The Bit was actually loud enough for me to enjoy my music and my fiance could even hear it from across the house.
The speakerphone is also quite impressive as it has a sound quality that rivals many premium speakerphones I’ve used. My caller could hear me loud and clear on the other end of the phone. She reported that even though it’s not a clear as a call would be using the phone, she didn’t have any issues hearing or understanding me.
The Bit Wearable Bluetooth Speaker is a really cool device and Polk did a wonderful job with its design.

The Polk Boom Bit Bluetooth Music player
The unit measures about about 3 inches long and clips to anything a 1/4 inch thick or less.
To charge the unit just plug it in to any USB on your PC/Mac or into a USB charger.
The unit only has a + and - button which is used to control every aspect. Such as On/Off, Volume Up/Down, Bluetooth pair/un pair, Pause, Track forward/Backward, Answer/Hangup phone calls, and finally Factory reset.
When I tested the unit I was surprised at the sound for such a small speaker.
The treble, mid tones, and bass are all about the same for a good mix and not too much of any of the 3 to over power the other two.
When testing the phone out, I was playing music, and when the call came in (As directed by the instructions) I was to hold down the + button for 2 seconds. BUT this didn't work. So I tried again without the music, no luck. I did however find that instead of a 2 second press, that a double tap worked flawlessly. To skip music forward and backward, it is also a 2 second press to the +/- button. This worked as it should. So I am not sure if this was a misprint in the instructions or what (both have you do the same thing for phone and Skip song). This is not a deal breaker, but if you purchase one just get to know it before you go out, so you wont be fumbling with it on a jog and getting upset.
As far as the battery. It says it is good for 3 hours. But a full charge played for 3 hours and 15 minutes. Longer than than advertised!!
The construction is nice and not flimsy. Ideal for collars, backpack or purse straps. It is not water proof so take note in bad weather.
This is a cool gadget for those who don't want an expensive Bluetooth set of headphones or to take a Bluetooth pill speaker with you. Just clip it on and go. Great for walking, jogging, biking.
I would recommend this to my friends. I would have given it a 5, but for the fact that it is not waterproof, for those just in case accidents, or getting caught out in bad weather.
Its a keeper.

Nicely done wearable

The folks at POLK AUDIO must have some freaks running around designing ways to implement their wildest technology dreams. I’m playing, OK, listening, to their new wearable technology called the BOOM BIT. Out of the package, the key-fob sized, just over 1 oz., sky blue speaker linked to my iPhone 6 in less than a minute. Just had to hold down the two volume buttons simultaneously for 2 seconds after engaging my phone Bluetooth. And we’re now playing my iPhone library of music spanning 6 decades of every variety of music.
How does it sound? Shockingly loud, considering it’s clipped to a shirt. It isn’t designed to fill a room, unless you don’t mind the drop off in bass as you get some distance from it. But clipped where it is, not far from my ears, it is entertaining, smooth, even nice sounding on music that is not demanding of deep bass. Remembering back to the days of hand held radios or cassette players, this is markedly better. Much much better than my iPhone struggling to play through its tiny speakers. But, again, physics sets limits and, no, its not a device for sharing music to the crowd. It’s for personal listening and it does a nice job at that. Oh, and hold the +Vol for a few seconds and you skip forward a song. Hold the -Vol button for the same 2-3 seconds, and you skip back to beginning of song.
Working the phone feature: Incoming call . . . hold down +Vol and it answers with decent sound quality. (Polk says 2 second hold, but I just had to tap iit quickly. Polk says up to 3 hours of battery life, and I didn’t test that. Al Green sounded good, and now John Legend is playing, gotta go. Keep up the freaky thinking, Polk folks.
Summary. I don’t have a problem giving this a 5 star rating for the intended purpose. Everything worked as described, and the sound was nice. Comparing it to the sound in my home theater seems unfair. Keep within reasonable expectations and you’ll like it, too. Yep, it’s a five star.

Cute tiny speaker

This is the smallest cutest wireless speaker I ever had! Moisture and shock proof it's designed to be worn on the clothes and is suitable for any activity. It has a pretty rugged clip so it won't fall off by itself.
It would also double as a hands free/speakerphone device anywhere you need it (like working on the outdoor project, exercising, etc).
Sound quality is comparable to the phone's internal speaker, it does sound louder though and you'll hear lot more details if you direct it towards yourself.
Just 2 buttons are used for controls so you'll need to memorize a few key combinations like holding "+" to answer the phone and holding "-" to end the call. Internal battery lasts for about 3 hours and is fully charged again in less than 1 hour using on-board type A USB plug.
Overall - it's tiny enough to carry around easily and use in any cases you've used the phone's internal speakers before. Do not expect significant sound quality improvement though.

Bit Wearable Speaker – Alternative To Ear Buds

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
Have enjoyed using this little wearable speaker every day now for over a week. I wore it on walks, gardening, and while, generally, just working around the house. It is pretty impressive for its versatility. I have worn this Polk Bit Wearable Speaker clipped to my shirt, the bill of my hat, headband, and to a lanyard around my neck. I vary how I wear this speaker to match the particular activity I am doing. For instance the Polk Bit on a lanyard around my neck is ideal while I garden and for household chores. The lanyard allows me to tuck the speaker into my shirt pocket, turn it around to my back if it is going to be dusty, moist, or even a remote possibility it might get snagged on something near me. I definitely prefer wearing this little guy over my ear buds. It can easily be heard anywhere it is worn on my upper body, and, doesn't have any bothersome wires dangling from it like the ear buds do.
The Polk Boom Bit comes in a neat little package with a miniaturized 'Quick Start Guide' to allow you to start enjoying it right away. However, you can go to the Polk Audio homepage and under Polk Boom Bit product page you can click on 'Support' and get a more detailed, full-sized 'Owners Manual' in a PDF document. The instructions are very simple and straight forward since there is only a Plus (+) and Minus (-) button as your complete set of controls. At first I thought I would have to memorize this whole set of instructions. But, using it every day for a week; turning it on, adjusting the volume controls, using the buttons for answering and ending a phone call makes the 'learning curve' a routine process. A couple things I noted about the instructions. It takes slightly longer then the number of seconds the Start Guide implies for any of the operations. Also, it makes a rather game like sound when you have successfully completed an operation, similar to a set of low growls. So, have a little patience and listen for the 'growls' before you move on to another operation.
The sound quality is absolutely amazing for this miniaturized speaker. The sound is crisp and clear, but with minimal base. I paired this Polk Boom Bit to my Android smart phone. It was uncomplicated and fast. However, I quickly discovered that the maximum sound level of my smart phone is also the maximum level of sound for the Polk Bit. Whatever you set the sound level at for your smart phone, it can only be decreased with the Bit, not increased. Also, I learned that a high volume level wears the battery down sooner.
The Polk Boom Bit is built fairly rugged, yet as light as a feather. It appears to be made of a composite material with a hinged, rubberized, waterproof, snap cover over the USB housing at the bottom. Be aware that the rest of the Bit Speaker is not waterproof, even though it looks like it is. It has a coated steal clip for fastening. The unit can be charged by plugging into any standard USB port. I use my five watt smart phone charger, which plugs directly into an A/C wall outlet. While charging the unit a red LED indicator light goes 'ON'. It will go 'OFF' and the blue LED indicator light will go 'ON' when it is fully charged again. It took me approximately two hours to fully charge-up the Bit each day. However, my battery charge only lasted a little over one hour each day. The manufacturer states, “At full charge the Bit gives you three hours of power at just over half volume—the preferred listening level based on its proximity to your ear.” So, with that in mind I then clipped the Bit to the bill of my hat, which is fairly close to my ear. I set the volume level to half. It did last approximately two hours and fifteen minutes before it shut down due to low battery. But, 'half volume level' is not what I like in an outdoor environment. However, it was fine indoors at half volume as long as I did not make too much noise. I clipped it to my sweat headband to get it as close to my ear as possible.
As a convenient alternative to ear buds the Polk Boom Bit is ideal for me, especially since I walk about an hour each day. If you are an 'active' person with varied activities this compact, wearable speaker may be just what you need. I highly recommend the Polk Boom Bit even with my reservations concerning stated battery life and volume level issues.

I am actually impressed. This little device puts out pretty good sound and you can take it with you while outdoors or around the house.
The little clip is pretty strong and you can clip it on to your shirt or pants. I prefer my shirt on my shoulder/upper chest area. The best part is I don't have to worry about it falling off.
I used this while cleaning up the house one day and it has great connectivity. I was able to leave my phone in my room on charge and go downstairs to the laundry room and the Bluetooth worked flawlessly. No skips and outage, it was like I was wearing wired headphones.
I next used the device while taking a shower. I clipped the device to the shower curtain and it was awesome. Again, I left my phone in the room and played one of my favorite playlists. Not sure if it is waterproof or water resistant so I didn't try to press the buttons or the device until I was done and dressed.
And lastly I used the Bluetooth to make a call and it sounded great. The person I called didn't even realize I was using it.
I think this little speaker would be good for a person that travels that is a music lover. They can easily use this device in a hotel room and play music anywhere in the room without disturbing other guests.
I highly recommend this product is your looking for something simple and you are listening to music in a small room or while walking outdoors.

Quite honestly, I did not know what to expect. I am 58 and wanted a portable speaker that would be useful taking walks and exercising. First, It arrives in a clam shell package and you need a good scissor to open it up. Second, it is pretty small, less than 3 inches in length, less than 1.5 inches in width, and about .5 inches at its greatest width. It is an optimal size to attach to some part of the user's clothing and is unobtrusive in its weight and size. The heavy duty rubberized clip is very good at keeping it attached to the user's clothing and there is a warning as to the optimal clothing width on which it works. Synching it to an IPod MP3 player and a Samsung Galaxy 7 phone, different platforms, was easy. A USB plug attached to the bottom of the unit is inside a heavy rubberized cover that can be moved out of the way when you want to charge the unit. In fact, that is the first thing you need to do when you are getting ready to use it.
The unit beeps a blue light when turned on to let you know that it is charged and you push on the + and - signs on the side to sync, make the sound louder and softer, pause, change the song or track, and do all necessary tasks. The maximum loudness this unit can generate is limited due to the size of the speaker on only one side of the unit; the other side has the clip which lays on top of the item of clothing that attaches it to your body. That is my only slight disappointment, the loudness that this unit can produce. However, like I said all of that needs to be considered based on the cost of the speaker and the size.

Pleasant Surprise – Little Speaker, Big Sound!

Design:
The Polk Bit is lightweight and the buttons are easy to use. With raised (+/-) buttons on the side, it is nice to not have to search around the device to find the right button when you want to change the volume. These buttons also double as buttons to change the song. You just hold (+/-) for a couple seconds. Additionally, the clip is durable, strong, and a good size. I have not had any worries about the Polk Bit falling off, even when clipped on thin materials, such as my shirt.
Sound Quality:
I did not know what to expect out of such a small speaker, but with it being a Polk product, I was anxious to hear how it sounded. I am honestly very impressed. The tiny Polk Bit delivers clear and robust sound. You will not be blown away with the amount of bass it produces, but the speaker is very small, so that was to be expected. Regardless, I was pleasantly surprised by the sound quality of the Polk Bit.
Battery Life:
Unlike the sound quality, I have not been impressed with the battery life. The Polk Bit’s battery lasts about three hours, so it is not ideal for prolonged use in the absence of a USB charging port. On the bright side, it does seem to charge quickly.
Features:
The main feature of the Polk Bit, other than being a wearable Bluetooth speaker with great audio, is that it allows you to take hands-free calls. There have been several instances when I have found this to be particularly useful. For example, I can clip it on my seatbelt in the car to take calls, since my car does not support hands-free calling. In general, I have noticed how convenient it is to be able to take a call when I have the Polk Bit on, and the conversations are clear.
Verdict:
Do not let its size fool you. The Polk Bit packs impressive audio technology into a small, wearable Bluetooth speaker. In addition, it is easy to use and well-designed. The only aspect I was not impressed with was the battery life. However, three hours may suit you just fine. If you love music and have an active lifestyle, or just want to experience one of the first wearable Bluetooth speakers on the market, the Polk Bit may be ideal for you!

This is great for those of us on the go, who like listening to music, or as a speaker for phone calls. It easily clipped to my bag, allowing me to walk and listen to music without headphones. It also doubles as a handsfree device. The sound is fairly clear, but don't expect a lot of bass. The unit needed to charge upon opening, but otherwise powered right up. The battery life wasn't anything to write home about, but it can easily be plugged into an available USB port on a PC/Mac while you work, or with your iPhone charging adapter (that's how I charged it). My wife loves the fact that she can clip it to her shirt while working. She's a chef, and found this to be a perfect little speaker to tackle her music listening desires. If you're looking for a portable speaker, this is for you. If you want something that's going to provide great sound quality, with louder bass, you may need to find another speaker.

Cons

3-hour battery life
The Polk Bit is an interesting portable Bluetooth speaker. Not like your normal Bluetooth speaker that you leave sitting on a table. This speaker is much smaller than most and intended to be worn. The Polk Bit is not much bigger than a pack of gum. It is water resistant, not waterproof. It would likely handle any moisture short of swimming. It uses standard usb for charging. The port is covered by a thick rubber cover which, once put on, can be difficult to take back off. This prevents the cover from casually falling off at the expense of a little more time to open for charging. The only option to wear the speaker is via a clip. It can be worn on a belt or shirt but it does have a warning that the material cannot be too thick.
The only buttons are a volume up and down which serve to turn the speaker on, off, answer a call, and of course change volume. It does not tell you anywhere on the unit which combination is of button presses turns the unit on an off or activates Bluetooth pairing but after a few uses it is not hard to remember. What is a little more confusing is feedback for turning on, Bluetooth pairing, turning off, and low battery all are just a series of tones. The only way to know what the tones mean is keep trying and once you figure it out to memorize them. Even then, they are similar. Voice feedback would have been more intuitive to understand the speaker mode. There is a Bluetooth status light, which uses flashes to indicate Bluetooth mode. Voice feedback again would be preferred and would have negated the need for a light. Battery life averaged about 3 hours. Near the end of battery life, the speaker would make another tone every few minutes. Without knowing what the tone means, it is difficult to tell if it is a notification tone or some other tone until the speaker finally dies.
Sound quality is decent with no real discernable bass. Primarily it excels at mid tones leading to an overall acceptable sound quality for music in this size range. Often smaller devices do well at high tones leading to a more unpleasant sound. Call quality was generally acceptable but callers reported volume was low if the speaker was more than approximately 12 inches away. Overall volume is louder than the average cell phone but less than regular desktop Bluetooth speakers.
For such a small device, the main question would be who the intended customer is. You can get larger, cheaper Bluetooth speakers that pump out louder sound with longer battery life. The price point at the time of review is a little higher than competitors and should be taken into consideration. The best use for this speaker is for people who are on the go and either cannot or will not use headphones. Possible uses include a warehouse worker wanting to enjoy music with more quality than off their phone speaker but cannot wear headphones because other sounds must be hear. Another would be possibly doing gardening outside. If the speaker were made slightly larger to improve battery life to near 8-9 hours, it would be used for a full workday improving usefulness. A lanyard or carabineer clip would also be nice to improve options for securing to clothing. Overall, if you need a compact Bluetooth speaker for on the go, this might be the one for you as long as expectations of battery life and sound quality are kept in check.

This is a very neat little speaker. I used it for a few bike rides around my neighborhood and it sounded petty good. I think if you used it out in the woods or on a hiking trail you might hear it better, but the cars whizzing past did hinder the sound. It would be great for annoying people at the mall though as you walk around the stores. P.s. Don't do that! The USB type A connector that is built in is great, you don't have to worry about losing the cable or even having to carry one. I found the battery life to be pretty good and it easily made it through my day. I used it on my work desk connected to my BT adapter in my computer and steamed my Pandora all day. My co-workers were impressed with the sound as well. I think a few of them are going to pick one up. Also, it works as a speaker phone as well using your phone.

Ok Bluetooth speaker - great speakerphone

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
There are good things about this Bluetooth speaker, and some not so good things.
First I will list the good things:
This Bluetooth speaker is lightweight and portable, making it easier to carry during exercise or other activities, without having to hassle with wearing a pair of headphones dangling from the ears.
Works well if left on at all times connected to a smart phone, to enhance a smart phone’s audible notifications. I found this to be its most useful function, as a result of it being difficult to turn on and off. I have arthritis in my hands and this is why this an issue for me, if a person has strong hands, it would not be as much of a complaint.
This Polk Bluetooth speaker is durable and it has a rechargeable lithium battery.
This Bluetooth speaker only pairs to one device at a time, but it does pair quickly once the Bluetooth connection is made.
The Bluetooth 4.1 on this device does have good range, and this Bluetooth speaker works quite well as a speakerphone for a smart phone. This device has surprisingly good call quality, even at 25 foot away from the connected smart phone, and even through several walls. The microphone picks up voice best if it is pointed fairly close to the mouth when speaking. It is really handy to be able to walk around with this really light Bluetooth speaker and talk and listen to someone, almost as if not holding anything. This Polk bit weighs about as much as one AA battery.
The bad things:
The instructions say to press the up and down volume buttons simultaneously for two seconds to turn it on and off. I set a stopwatch to test this, it takes more like 4 seconds of pressing both buttons to turn it on and off, this is mostly an issue because the buttons are not the easiest to press. The volume up button presses easier than the volume down button on the Polk bit I have.
A person with weak or arthritic hands or even women with long finger nails, might not have an easy time pressing and holding the buttons, and to have to press them for several seconds until it turns on and off, this is an unnecessary difficulty, which could have been avoided with a better design.
The only buttons on this Bluetooth speaker are the volume up and down buttons, of which both buttons are tapped at the same time to play or pause, press and holding one of the buttons skips to the previous track, and pressing and holding the other button skips to the next track. The instructions say that the track skipping task is accomplished by holding each button for 2 seconds, but it actually takes longer than that, it is more like a solid 3 seconds.
If Polk would have made a dedicated power button and a play/pause button on one side, and then a volume up and volume down buttons on the other side, this would have been a drastically improved Bluetooth speaker. The fact that this Bluetooth speaker only has 2 buttons, kind of sucks.
The sound quality on this Bluetooth speaker is what should be expected from the small speaker size, probably not suggested for bass heavy music.
I would suggest this Bluetooth speaker for people who do not have arthritis of the hands, and I would rate this product at 3 out of 5 stars.

The setup for the Polk - Bit Portable Bluetooth Speaker is easy. There are only two buttons, a + and a - sign. By pushing both of these at the same time, the device will turn on and automatically put itself on pairing mode. Have your bluetooth device on the ready to pair it up. To turn it on or off, you hold these two buttons down for about 3 seconds.
One of the features of this bluetooth speaker is it’s portability. It has a clip on the back that holds firm to anything that you clip it to. I wore it all day at my workplace on the left side of my jacket. I forgot that I had it and took my jacket off. When I put it back on, it was still there and didn’t fall off. Most people didn’t notice I was even wearing it, though a few did and were curious about the device. A second feature that I loved was the USB charging. A cover protects the USB component of this device and it was easy to charge it from any USB port. It is thicker than other devices, so you will probably have to disconnect other USB cables around the port to recharge this one.
The performance of this bluetooth speaker is not on par with other equally priced, larger speakers. Today’s market is flooded with bluetooth speakers from many brands and many prices. I own well over 10 different bluetooth speakers, so I was able to test it against a few on par with the price. It will definitely be louder than your phone speaker but not louder than most desk bluetooth speakers. The loudness will often be muffled in a loud environment such as a shower running, vacuum cleaning, or exercising near traffic. I found it most useful when I was cleaning up my classroom while it was empty, doing chores around the house (but not vacuuming) listening to podcasts or music, and when exercising in a park that doesn’t see much vehicle traffic.
The Polk - Bit Portable Speaker meets my expectations but does not exceed them. It’s portability is the reason to get one but not its power. When I looked at the item, I had my doubts about its loudness and my thoughts were confirmed upon using it several times.
The price for the speaker in terms of value is reasonable if your reason for buying it is it’s portability and ease of use. Though this won’t be my primary speaker, I can see how it will get used often if I leave it clipped onto my backpack that I carry with me, as it’s easy to just leave there and have at the ready.
I highly recommend this product for people who do a lot of walking in quiet environments. I would not recommend this for gym use or to replace table-top bluetooth speakers. This Pole bluetooth speaker is meant to stay close to your ear at all times when in use.

The Polk Boom Bit wearable speaker is not an all-day home Bluetooth speaker. It is for personal use where you could use a speaker phone, but need something louder and more convenient. A perfect example is for when riding a bicycle, you shouldn’t wear headphones, but you want to listen to music and have hands-free calling. Any activity that is about 3 hours and you need hands free but don’t want to block out all sound with headphones.
This little speaker is light and can clip on nearly anything up to 1/4 inch. Due to the way it is charged it reminds me of an old school thumb drive, though there is no storage on this device. The controls are simple, yet slightly annoying when you need to press both buttons at the same time for power. The + and - are the only buttons and they are far enough apart that you won’t accidently click the other one, but just far enough to make it a challenge to hold both for some functions.
The battery life, as with any device, is dependent on use and volume levels. At the lowest settings capable of still hearing sound it lasted 4.5 hours for me. Being in a cubicle style office it was loud enough for me to hear it clipped on my lanyard, but so low that no one else could hear it unless I was standing next to them. Audio quality is not bad, but about what I would expect from a tiny speaker.

This little unit has quite a punch for such a small footprint. It's a perfect companion for you if you want to share your music while on the go. It's rugged, but not waterproof. Its battery will last up to 3 hours, and charges easily with any USB A-type connection, (a usb port on a pc, on a charger, and or on a portable charger). I plan on using this unit while camping, but will be with me at all times since it is so small and can be stowed away in my pocket or my bag. It would have received a a fifth star if it was waterproof.

The appropriately named Polk Bit is... well... tiny. It is in fact smaller than the key fob I use to unlock my car (see attached photo). None of that matters though if it can't put out decent sound. To put it simply it's better than you probably think.
First time setup, and use is simple. One really cool feature is when you are ready to charge the speaker you just need access to a usb port - in other words no cable is required.
When I saw how truly small it is I immediately lowered my expectations for sound quality. When I actually heard it for the first time I was pleasantly surprised to say the least. It's LOUD! While it does lack bass there is no distortion at all at full volume. I expected it to be similar to my smartphone's speaker, but it has much better sound quality than that. It had no problem overpowering the sound of my treadmill for a run, and does equally well outside.
It is rugged with all surfaces being rubberized. Build quality is great. It's virtually weightless, and has a heavy duty clip on the back which gives it a lot of versatility in where you can place it. When I clipped it to my waist I felt like the sound was a little muffled, and I think it does best clipped to the neckline or the strap of a backpack.
The only drawbacks I have with the device are minimal. Like I said earlier this thing is exceptionally small. While I would like it if it had a better battery life it just doesn't seem possible because of how small it is. The package claims 3 hours of battery, but I think that at full volume you get a little less than that. The only other issue I have is that all of the commands for the device are handled with 2 buttons so you have to memorize when to hold a button (or two), when to tap a button, etc. It's not bad, but could be more clear.
To sum it up this is the little speaker that could. It has big sound in a small package. I am listening to it right now, and it's fantastic considering its size, and its price. Get one for yourself. Get one as a gift. Collect all the colors. For the money you can't go wrong.

Not much to say with this Polk wearable speaker as good as you think it is. The design is bright blue sold color wrapped all around the device. I have no gripes with the design itself as it does look trendy and like a mic. The Vol buttons are large and easy to hit when attached to you and the steel spring feels like it will last very strong. To charge up the device you have to use a standard USB so you can plug it into a PC or USB A/C outlet.
Once connected to your preferred device though Bluetooth you can play music or take phone call. The speaker itself is defiantly good for the size. It's loud with no distortion but don't expect this thing to have bass. Outside with loud cars you can also hear the sound.
Battery life is where this thing falls short, while it does nearly hit 3 hours of battery life it needs to be longer. If they could have hit 6 hour at this price and size this thing would be a hit. It might be good enough for the gym or working out but it could be much more.
For what it is I like it. Polk could be on to something with these speakers but its going to take some time to make these things perfect.

I wasn't really expecting much for a fairly inexpensive speaker. But it did surprise me, and it was a good surprise.
The design is quite nice and sturdy. The spring clip is quite durable and you dont have to worry about that breaking off and it stays in place where you clip it too!
I love sound, music, effects, you name it. The big question for anyone about speakers is about the quality. The best way to describe the quality is, think it is an extension of your cellphone speaker. My Samsung Galaxy S7 speaker is quite comparable to how the sound is with this polk. So the sound is good, with decent bass and treble.
Some things that I do find a bit on an annoyance level is what is listed below;
-The rubber hinge/cover takes a couple of tries to sear properly (sometimes it folds underneath itself).
-Second is having to press both the plus and minus buttons at the same time to turn it on or off, it takes a few tries.
The battery does last about 2 to 3 hours, it is to be expected for what you are paying for and the bluetooth range is good too, i could easy go about 25+ feet away and no issues.

So, my initial impression upon first use (actually hearing it) was...WOW. The packaging is very simple, but after opening, I was left wondering where the instructions were. Not finding them, I fiddled with the device, trying to figure out how to turn it on, remove the cap to charge, etc. Upon trying to remove the cap for the initial charge, I almost ripped it off. It's attached by a small piece of silicone/rubber. From the looks of it, you should just be able to push it off from one side with your thumb, much like opening a Zippo lighter. But I have to use both fingers and pull it up from one side.
After getting that done and out of the way, I put it on charge because I could not figure out how to turn it on, assuming it was dead out of the box (which is usually rare...most devices have some charge). While it was charging, I went to throw the packaging away and noticed a very tiny, folded manual hidden up in between the plastic behind the orange part that outlines the features and advertisements.
After letting it fully charge and reading a bit of the manual, I can say, the controls for this are way over-convoluted. To turn it on, I have to hold both the volume up and down buttons simultaneously for 2 seconds. Luckily, it went into Bluetooth sync mode automatically and I paired it to my phone.
Attached it to the collar of my shirt. It's a little weighty, so expect some uncomfort if you are using a regular cotton-style t-shirt. I started up Twitch, just to test the treble and voice quality. I was really surprised! I could hear it loud and clear with no issues (this is a big winner for me, as I do have a minor hearing impairment). Then I turned on Spotify and listened to a few songs. Music sounded equally as good, voices were clear and there was enough bass for such a small device. Pretty happy with it so far. And all of this was with the volume just a hair over half-way (which is also the suggested level according to the packaging/manual).
Given the quality of the voices I'd experienced between Twitch and Spotify, I was eager to really test the Bluetooth call functionality. Called my friend with it and...I could barely hear him. His call quality has always been spotty anyway, between his cell connection and his aging and run down Bluetooth headset. So, my wife called me on her way home from work. I couldn't hear her hardly at all...even after turning the volume up to over 3/4 of the way. I immediately switched it back over to my normal Bluetooth headset, with a sigh of disappointment.
Also, battery life is abysmal. It advertises 3 hours, but in reality, especially when using it some for calls, it's closer to the realm of 1.5 -2 hours. I'll stick to my "other" bluetooth speaker that I normally use for Twitch/Spotify when I'm at work. I may still use this some, but in reality, other than being in a quite environment, such as home, there is no way this can be used "as advertised" for the sporty person. Any amount of background/ambient sound will make the overall volume of this drop significantly.
Personally, I would not recommend this product. Save what you would spend on this, add a little more to it and get yourself a "real" dedicated Bluetooth speaker or, if you need something to take with you, a real headset. This idea is great on paper, but in execution, not so much. Had it had better Bluetooth call quality and better battery life, I'd be more apt to recommend this and I would maybe even use it more myself.
