Good speaker, it does have an app you need to use to wirelessly connect and sometimes it drops and needs to be reconnected but overall good product

I love the play-fi systems but the sound goes in and out with these. I had to put them high up so it wasn’t so noticeable and that was after I updated the Wi-fi to 1GB speed. Hoping that was the cause.

One of the best purchases made recently. Always wanted to try wireless speakers over bluetooth ones. Play-fi technology works very will with other wireless speakers i have (Definitive). for the price-point i purchased i guess there is no second thought on this one. The only thing that needs improvement is the Polk app.

These little wireless speakers are great! I started with one at full price for $179 and was pleased to save $20 vs Sonos. Then they went on sale and I bought another for $99 and now their $129 and I may buy a 3rd. We've got one upstairs and one downstairs in our house and listen to music much more frequently with these Polk speakers around.
Giving 4 stars instead of 5 because you cannot adjust the EQ and I find them to be bass heavy, especially when placed against a wall. SQ is better than Sonos Play1 which does not have two independent drivers like this Polk speaker.
Also, connectivity is spotty sometimes and we won't be able to get our devices to play thru - not sure if it's a signal strength issue or what? It requires closing the app and sometimes unplugging the speaker to get going again.
Overall satisfied at my savings and the Sound quality vs Sonos.

These speakers sound great, but the Polk software is unstable and constantly drops off the grid. It is extremely time consuming, frustrating and difficult to reboot the speakers - almost like they divorce themselves from Wi-Fi. All of a sudden you realize - hey - what happened to the music? Then you need to reboot - which always takes two or three tries.

Don't waste your money or time. They take forever to setup and they don't stay connected. Returned and bought the Sonos sound bar and rear speakers. Way better quality and 20x easier to connect.

Great speaker for the bedroom

I figured I'd try out the Polk S2 speaker because it was cheaper than the Sonos Play 1, and I've been wanting to have a speaker I can control via my phone in my bedroom. I figured why not, I can always return it...
Boy was I surprised! The S2 has more than enough bass and volume to fill up my 14x12 bedroom. Even from such a small speaker, the bass is powerful enough that I can feel it shake in the bedframe (the speaker sits on my nightstand). I listened to the Play 1 at Best Buy, and I think its possible Polk made an even better speaker at a cheaper price!
A few great features I've noticed on the speaker:
1. The speaker has an Aux jack (the play 1 doesn't). This comes in really handy because I can plug the speaker into my television via cord and actually hear the dialogue when i sit in bed. The speaker is also designed so that, whenever I connect to it via the app on my phone, the wifi will override the aux jack audio. And when I disconnect from the speaker via my phone, it automatically reverts back to the tv audio! Completely effortless, no need to touch any buttons.
2. The speaker has 4 drivers, and the drivers are angled away from each other so you get a bigger sound stage with some stereo effect (not as great as having 2 speakers, but definitely better than a single driver speaker like the Play 1).
3. It comes with 2 grilles, one black and one white, which was really nice because the quilt on my bed is white and it matches really well.
4. The USB port on the speaker doesn't play audio, but it does charge my phone! I don't know if this feature was intentional or not (i didn't read about it), but its really nice because i can just plug my phone into it to charge while i sleep. No need to use up another wall plug.
Cons
1. Pandora is the only service on their app i really use. There are a couple more, but none i've really heard of (besides internet radio). I'm really hoping they will get Spotify soon, but Pandora isn't bad for now.
2. The app takes a little getting used to (took awhile to realize the triangle logo on the bottom right corner shows you the speakers on your network). Once you use it a couple times, though, its not too bad.

Works great as a standalone speaker or with the rest of the Polk Audio speakers in the house
