Had a smaller space to fit a system into, and coupled with the Polk T-15s this sub does the job quite nicely.
Tucked away under a table and 6" off the floor, the smooth, deep response of the PSW10 fills out the bottom end and allows the T-15s to sparkle with accurate clarity. I set the sub's low pass to it's highest setting to relieve the main speakers of the burden of bass reproduction as much as possible. It's running off an 80W Pyle mini amp.
Now my kitchen REALLY rocks!

I knew what i was getting into after all of the research that I had done.. that being said, this Polk sub did not let me down.. i am totally impressed with its bass tone and power for the $130 spent.. i know there are better subs out there, but this Polk sub is the best option for someone not wanting to spend alot but want great bass for all applications.. basically, if you want anything better than this sub, then expect to look at $500+ subs.. its your only option.. for the $130 price point, its an unbelievable sub that hangs with some strong equipment . Its also advisable to determine your space provided.. if you need solid bass for a smaller to upper medium size room, and youre running around 100 to 150 watts on your home receiver unit, this is the perfect sub.. i would only recommend something bigger or better if you have a larger room and/ or runningg 300 plus watt system .

This Polk PSW10 is a great subwoofer for the price. I was looking for a subwoofer that got great reviews and was budget friendly. I needed a sub for a system I was setting up for listening to Music in my office. I used my old Yamaha Aventage HTR as it was retired from Home Theater duties(I needed 4K and Atmos). I used Jamo bookshelf speakers as my main speakers. The system also includes a Pro-Ject Essentials II Digital Turntable, Onkyo CD player, and a Denon Tape Deck. The PSW10 fit the bill and has been great while I listen to Vinyl and CDs.

I originally decided to buy this particular subwoofer because my dad bought one a few years ago for his surround sound system and i really liked how good it sounded and it looks pretty cool too.
I'm currently using a hand me down stereo that is probably about 30 years old (older than me) and it was really struggling to play the low sounds in music and movies, after connecting it and taking just a few min. to adjust, it makes my old stereo sound balanced and new again. it definitely has no problem shaking the house but when adjusted properly it doesn't overpower the rest of the stereo.
I also plan to wire it in once I upgrade to the new surround sound system that I'm working on building.

Got this to replace a 200w JBL subwoofer that failed following a move. This one is nearly the exact same dimensions, but half the power. The lower power rating has not been an issue, as this subwoofer still provides just the right amount of low-end and depth (even though it's in a larger room than the JBL was at the old house).
The PSW10 is very simple to hook up and has a very simple frequency response control and a gain control. I set the gain at half and brought the frequency down to around 120Hz, and everything has been great. Not too much bass to wake the baby from a nap, but plenty to enjoy a movie or TV show.
While I can't compare this one to its apparent replacement (the PSW108), I'm pretty confident that they're similar enough (only differences being frequency response and cabinet color), that I'm happy with what I got-and for less money, too! This unit was less expensive than the PSW108 even when that model was on sale for $50 off.
If you're not looking to shake the neighbors' houses, but just looking for enough low-end to complement bookshelf or other small speakers, this unit will work well for you (I have four old Bose 211 Direct-Reflecting speakers from 1994/5).

After I figured out how to get it to work correctly with my Pioneer VSX-1015TX the sound is astounding. The bass rocks my 2300 sq ft. house; so much so that I had to seriously turn down the speaker's amplifier. I agree with the other reviewer in that you don't need the 'Y' cable, works just fine without. I think my biggest complaint is that unless you set your receiver to expect 'small' speakers for the front (verse 'large') the sub-woofer gets no traffic at all (i.e, it becomes disabled) I initially ignored this in the instructions because it appeared to only pertain to the 12" model, As a result, I spent a good couple of hours trying to figure out why the subwoofer was not providing any output. In addition, being forced to set the receiver's surround sound setting to 'small' for the front speaker designation presents problems calibrating the surround sound for larger speakers such as the pair of classic Cervin Vega D7's I own. Such speakers calibrate much more easily if you can simply set the surround sound settings to the 'large' designation instead. Because of this, I had to recalibrate my surround sound a half a dozen times to get it to sound close to what it did before I swapped out my Sony 8" subwoofer for the Polk 10". In some ways, I still don't think the Cervin Vega's are performing as well in this configuration. I also think it is a bit odd that Polk did not provide a LFE (unfiltered) input like it does with their 12". I think that may well be the reason why I haven't quite been able to get the Cervin Vega's calibrated. Absent the above comments, the subwoofer does it job and does it well.

It's a sub - woofer. It sits in the corner and makes loud thumping noises. The Polk does that very well. Mine is tied to a small bookshelf system, but does a great job of filling in where the speakers (bose cubes) can't reach in terms of sound. As the cubes don't have much at all in terms of bass, the polk does a great job at making up for the absence. It has widely adjustable controls, so you can get a clean thump or soften things out so it's more of a heavy sustained bass. Nice unit, particularly for what I paid. No problems at all with it or with setting it up, except that my wife isn't sure what it does... She's learning, though!

Of course. After purchasing a sound bar, pair of small towers. I had to get a powered sub. All Polk. Had Geek Squad hook these up to a Denon 5.2 receiver. I thought I was just happy with the speakers?
Now everything I watch. From television shows, to documentries, to movies. It's like seeing and actually hearing them for the first time ever!
The sub case itself is nice and compact. Fits any decor. And cranks out enough lows to make everything rattle on low volume. But perfect enough to balance out everything else. As a bonus. The price didn't kill either.

This is my 2nd PolkAudio 10" powered sub (lost the first one in a divorce!!) and for the price this baby can't be beat!! I paid $249.00 for the first one and it was worth every penny, so when I found this one for $99.00 on sale I wanted to buy 2 of them (but you only need 1!!) The set up is straight foward w/ easy to follow directions. the look and durability of the unit is outstanding and the sound is AWESOME!! (If you ask my neighbors they would agree with the sound quality, but would probably like me to turn it down just a smidge!!! ) I LOVE IT!!

Super awesome quality and a great value. I've owned a few of these. I had one in my living room and it easily rattle the windows. I have one in a cabinet in my outdoor bar and it rocks the neighborhood. And it's so cheap. I'm sure there are better ones out there for a lot more money but this is a great affordable option.

Big sound from a small footprint. Does a great job in my shop paired with a pair of vintage Klipsch KG’s! Perfectly complements the speakers and has a strong bass signature.

I bought this because I thought I needed one with my flat screen tv, to help boost the sound level about 12 percent. I have not ever heard one in a stereo store or in anyone's house, so I wasn't sure of what to expect from this sub. I currently have a Onkyo TX-NR696 7.2 channel Audio/video receiver, with 100 watts per channel. My only concern is the placement of it. Live and learn. I have wired up a lot of stereo equipment, and this was relatively easy with the hook ups label with what goes here and such. I was getting excited with the sounds that will soon fill the air. I have a 6 speaker Polk Audio system and so my thoughts where it should handle this. All hooked up and ready to power on for the first time. I picked out a cd with some good instrumentals, like Santana, and hit play. OMG, I froze in my tracks. I have not ever heard a sound like this. INCREDIBLE. I know I will have to mess with it until I get it just right but this is for me and my friends to come over and listen to the music. I can't wait to watch and listen to the new Maverick movie.

This unit was a great buy to complement my Polk monitor speakers up front and my Optimus t120 towers in the rear.
Really adds more fullness & much deeper vibes to my system overall - got this at a pretty fair price during the Polk speaker sale.

I ordered this for a satellite subwoofer system I have and the subwoofer died. This was an excellent choice for a replacement. I bought it on sale for $99, it was easy to hook up, easy to control, and give excellent sound. I would highly recommend this for anyone on a budget.

Bought this to replace my sub that only lasted 30years : ) so had to get up to speed to find a new one. Anyhow, this is a great unit with smooth, quality bass. Not sure how a more expensive unit could do better for home audio.
No LFE on this, but turning the low pass knob fully counter-clockwise and setting he cross-over on the amp works just fine. This is a big cube so suggest measuring first so no surprises on planned placement.
