I purchased this for a preteen for an intro to horror movies. I knew of the movie for its an old time favorite of many. It worked out great and so was the price of the DVD.

This is one of the greatest horror films in the history of cinema. While not the scariest film of all time, it has a great story and special effects that still holds up today for the most part, and it's just downright creepy. The film itself is definitely a great print of the film. It looks and sounds better than ever. Nevertheless, I will stress once again that this is absolutely the best edition available for the film, so if you love the movie, it is still worth the purchase.

One of the best aspects of Poltergeist is that it is actually rated PG. Sure, there are some real scary scenes and one that is a little gory. But it is the type of movie you can watch around Halloween time with the entire family. I hadn’t seen it for years so buying the Blu Ray took me way back. The film lost none of its luster watching it now compared to then.

I disagree with those who say POLTERGEIST is dated. It was the first major horror movie to draw on the conceit of poltergeists or other unnatural objects living in the television; newer movies have more elaborate special effects, but not this film's emotional pull. JoBeth Williams leads a fine cast in this family horror show that may be too powerful for young children.

One of the best ghost stories ever committed to film looks phenomenal on Blu-ray even if it is surpassingly light on special features (the sequels got better supplements than this, get on it Warner Bros.) but I am recommending based purely on the strength of the film. Scares, humor and tense atmosphere make this a cut a above the many rest.

I remember watching POLTERGEIST on tv in our living room when I was a kid!! Scared the crap out of me!! Still does!! Bluray is awesome....clear picture...saw things in movie I hadn't noticed before. A must see for Halloween time. Awesome cast awesome special effects...youll never look at chicken or steak the same way!!

This is one of my favorite horror movies of all time. It has everything...the comfortable setting of suburbia, humor, cool 80s gadgets, suspense, and of course absolute terror. It’s good to pull this movie off the shelf every couple of years and kick back...BTW...do yourself a favor and steer clear from the remake!

Every time I watch this movie, I’m amazed by how much it still holds up. You genuinely care for this family and when the poltergeists start to threaten them, you feel the tension and hope that they will be able to get their daughter back once she is taken. Probably the best ghost story ever committed to film.

The original Conjuring directed by Tobe Hooper(the Texas chainsaw massacre) produced and written by Steven Spielberg. Scary and great special effect pre CGI but looks great. Craig T Nelson (incredibles and Coach). Engaging and eerie movie. Nuff said.

If you're planning to go see the new It chapter 2 movie anyways, then you might as well get a free bluray out of the deal. Best Buy has a selection of scary blurays with $8 movie cash included as long as you have the Atom app to get movies tickets.

This film has never looked better than it has on Blu-ray and I recommend it very very Highly to those who are fans of it ....the picture is crystal clear and the sound is absolutely perfect....A definite recommendation

Finally, i been waiting for this one, on blu ray, & it has been well worth it. Thee original cast for this, incrediable set's & production, is astonishing. There will never be another like this classic ever again.

This is a great classic movie to have in a collection. It is a movie you can watch more than once. It still stands out as a major horror favorite to this day I highly recommend this movie for all horror fans.

I believe that Poltergeist is one of the best ghost movies in existence. It is both scary and somewhat family-friendly. It is well-acted with an excellent story. I highly recommend this movie!

The Poltergeist is a classic spine tingling horror flick that deserves praise. Not a jump scare scarefest but a nice slow burn as things build and build throughout. Great classic movie.

This film as always been one of my favorites and holds up extremely well by today's standards and with the updated sound and picture this is an excellent buy!

Still a spook classic just as hood today as yesterday. Regarding heading. Heather O Rourke played Carol Ann and died way 2 young .....great cast great movie

If you have seen this movie or you have not I highly recommend it this is one of those great Staples in a horror movies that I recommend

Poltergeist is an awesome movie. Getting a lenticular slipcover and movie cash to It 2 makes this a no brainer. Highly recommended.

This is a re-issue of the 2010 blu-ray but with a really nice slipcover. It's good to own, just in time for Halloween season.
