Customers are saying

Customers enjoy the wireless connectivity, nostalgic feel, and compatibility of the GameCube Style Wireless Controller for Nintendo Switch. They appreciate that it resembles the original GameCube controller and works well for playing Super Smash Bros. However, some customers are disappointed by the lack of rumble and the fact that it runs on AA batteries.

The controllet is easy to use. Just plugged it into the Switch base and hit the power button on the remote. It connected instantly and I was able to disconnect it and use it wirelessly. There have been no issues with the product. Takes me back to when I used to use the Gamecube. Would buy again.

I want a rumble pack and rechargeable battery. I knew it did not have this when I bought it so I won't dock it to bad for that.

Did you ever miss playing on that dusty old Gamecube? Well, you can do it again on the Nintendo Switch by purchasing the "PowerA - Gamecube Wireless Controller for Nintendo Switch - Purple". Yes, people may say that you have to buy batteries all the time for it. Well, just a buy a pack of rechargable batteries, and you're set to go! Recommended! 10/10

Loved this controller so much, brought me right back to my childhood summer days sitting in front of the TV on super hot afternoons playing smash bros with my cousins. My main issue with this though is that I hate how far our technology has come and we need to use batteries to power these controllers.

I wanted to love this controller for the nostalgia factor, but it was too difficult for me to switch back and fourth between the grip order on the switch controllers and the game cube style controller. Also it seemed to lag more than the switch controllers tend too.

Nice Replication of a Game Cube Controller

This is a nice replication of the original Game Cube controllers, and of course i'm using these to play Smash Bros. I find the grips are a bit smaller than the original controllers, but other than that its as if i was using an original Game Cube controller. Having them as wireless controllers is a great perk. Definitely would recommend these for anyone playing Smash Bros on the Switch.

I've avoided third party controllers most of my life because they tend to feel cheap or sub par, but PowerA ALWAYS bucks that trend. This isn't my first PowerA product (also have some PC controllers from them) and I cannot imagine it will be my last. Solid build quality, feels just like the GC controller. My only criticism is that the controller is powered by AA batteries (boo). A rechargeable battery via USB would have made this thing a home run. Still a solid product though that I'd recommend ten times over.

A good alternative for a Switch Pro Controller

Works great overall. Buttons are responsive and feels comfortable in your hands. Only main gripes I had were that it ran on AA batteries instead of being rechargeable like the normal Pro Controller or Joy Cons. The other gripe is that the L and R buttons feel weird when pressed down as only the outside goes down while the inner half doesn’t. Minor nitpicks include buttons feeling and sounding clicky. Still a good alternative if you don’t have a GameCube Controller adapter or a GC Controller at all.

Using this controller for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and so far every thing seems to be working just as expected, the quality and feel of this controller is much better than its wired counterpart. Before this i had a wired version of the same brand of controller i became disappointed when the C-stick became faulty and messed up all of my inputs in the game. Since then iv'e returned the controller and bought this one. So far everything seems top notch but that's also what i said about the wired one.

If you’re like me and once upon a time you owned, or still own a GameCube, this is the controller for you! Just like the old GameCube controller minus the new additions to the center on the remote, but definitely still plays the same as the original one. This controller is also wireless which makes it even better, no more tripping over a cord!!!!

Amazing feel and design, easy to use, it makes switching between my Switch controller and Xbox controller because with the other Pro Controller I was getting the A and B button mixed up constantly between the two.

One of the good controllers out in the market. My son was looking for a remote and when I seen these it reminded me of my youth when I used to play on the Gamecube. The controllers were fun and easy to use. It's well built and is very ergonomic. Love the color and it's wireless! My son loves it.
