You definitely have to be particular and set them on there just right. The controllers WILL and DO fall off of the stand if it is bumped even just a little bit, but that shouldn't be an issue for most out there. Would have been nice if it was powered by a more modern solution, but for the price it doesn't really bother me that much. My only complaint, really, is that it takes up too much space on my power bar :)
