Good twist on a great game

I've already played the original Dark Souls 2 many times. I held off on getting this updated version, but finally picked it up. The game is largely the same with new, more, and more difficult enemies. It took what was already a difficult game and made it more difficult. The gameplay mechanics are very punishing. If you do not have a lot of patience you probably will not enjoy this game. It seems to get easier as you get more accustomed to it. The graphical upgrade is nice too, but I already had the PC version of Dark Souls 2, so I didn't notice an improvement. Worth getting.

First of all, the 60fps is magical and totally appreciated. This game plays exactly the same as its titular predecessor, Dark Souls 2. HOWEVER, the new enemy placements, addition of new enemies, etc., makes it a whole new adventure. One that will crush your soul and turn you into a shadow of your former self. Still not as hard as Demon's Souls but guaranteed to make you stop remembering Dark Souls 2 as the "noob friendly" entry.

    Dark Souls 2 Remix Edition

It's a little hard to recommend this if you've already played Dark Souls 2 and even harder if you've played the DLC. However, if you haven't, then this is an excellent port and a great game. It's punishing but rewarding just like all the other souls games. If you want to ease into one of these, start with Dark Souls. This is a good follow up, but is missing some of the mystery and charm of the first game. This has tons of hours worth of gameplay though and runs great on the PS4.

Great game but not for the average player, requires patience, time and some skills...this game will frustrate you but it's challenging and fun

Not as good as the original. Made even easier, but also more unbalanced at the same time.

The game is so much better on PS4 - 60 FPS and updated lighting makes it look pretty good. New enemy placement, story elements and updated item descriptions make this the definitive edition. At some times it may actually be somewhat difficult (base game Dark Souls 2 was a pushover). Only problem is only three new items. Includes the DLC however, if you haven't played 'em.

This is a very challenging game. I wouldn't say there is much improvement with the graphics or gameplay from the PS3/Xbox 360 version, but its worth it for me with the extra content compared to the vanilla version on ps3. I'm definitely looking forward to Dark Souls III.

I really like how this version has remixed enemy placements, ect. from the vanilla version of Dark Souls 2. Overall a fun, intense challenge but definitely not for the faint of heart.

This version includes the game and all 3 DLC's released (no code but to access DLC you will need to find items in game to access areas) and its amazing. It's a great story, great gameplay and will take up a lot of your time. But be prepared to die multiple times in a row.

The DarkSouls franchise is absolutely amazing. While these games take a bit of skill to truly master, they genuinely reward you for the time you sink into them, which can be rare these days. The constant challenge provided by these titles is a welcome change to the hand-holding nature of some games. DarkSouls is a trial by fire. You will either love these games or hate every second of them.

More Dark Souls. And that is a good thing! There is a staggering amount of content here. The Scholar of the First Sin edition remixes enemies and items slightly, but not to a great extent. All dlc is included which is great. 60fps on PS4 looks glorious! If you agree that the "souls" games are the best games of the last few generations then get on it and buy this today!

This is Dark Souls 2 with all the DLC in one place. If you like hard action games, this might be for you. It's more medieval than the PS4 exclusive Bloodborne, and also a bit slower paced. (I prefer Bloodborne). Fun game though and absolutely worth playing.

After playing Bloodborne and loving it, I had to go back and give Dark Souls 2 another chance. Great game, worth picking up, especially with Dark Souls 3 coming out in 2016.
