I got this game because my son and I love to play games!

If you've already played the first Dead Island, you'll find nothing new here, save for a few creatures, boats, and some woman who won't shut up about canned food. ("Canned food is all we have here!") Everything else about this sequel is exactly - I do mean EXACTLY - like the first one. Even the setting is essentially the same - well, it feels the same. Still, I bought this game because I enjoyed the first one so much that I didn't think I'd mind playing it again. What I hadn't counted on is that all of the first game's weaknesses make this one just plain tedious. The writing - especially in the cutscenes and at the beginning of missions - serves no purpose other than to set up the missions, which half the time is moving stuff around. You'll give it a try, and then stop caring. Play this if you're working your way through the survival genre so you can scratch it off your list. Otherwise, put this title down and reach for The Last of Us - it's everything this game isn't. P.S. Don't let the trailers fool you! Most of the scenes are from cutscenes, not actual gameplay.

If you liked first one then get this one, if not don't buy it. Same gameplay style just different maps.

This was a neat game for killling zombies. It reminded me of a Farcry based around killing zombies.

The game is fun and fast paced. If you love to chase and shoot zombies this is the game for you!

It was great to get back to killing zombies. you get stuck on another island which is not bad if you want to bust some zombie heads. Great story line and gameplay.

I played Dead Island and Dead Island Riptide back to back, so this is a combo review. If you liked the original, you will like this one also. I was able to put my Riptide save on my USB, unlike Dead Island, which made it possible to use my Game Genie. I leveled all of the characters to 70 in Riptide, Logan was the best in D.I., but Purna is the best in D.I.R., in my opinion. I found a legendary shotgun with Purna and was able to get 10,000 rounds with my GG, which made it a blast to play. DLC isn't great in either game, I am looking forward to the next Dead Island coming out on PS4.

Bought this game for my wife for Christmas because she loved the first one so much. She likes it because its got lots of different types of zombies. The only thing she thought was kind of lame was that there was hardly any upgrade to the game play compared to the first game. Overall this is a good game for people who just wanna kill zombies for a cheap price.

Not as good as the first one. They need to develope the story more.

If you liked the first dead island and want to play more, than this might be for you. The gameplay is very similar. Hoever it sometimes feals like a really big downloadable extension instead of its own game. If you liked the first game and can find it for an inexpensive price go for it.

Great co op game play. Fast paced. Great for zombie lovers.

My grandson really loved this game. He likes zombie video games.

The game does little to improve upon the original but thats not a bad thing. Some minor improvements and added weapons and an extra character. Story line is almost non existent but there are ''group defense battles'' this time around that break up the single player action. If you liked the first one pick this one up.

Was looking at buying a new game. Stopped into local best buy, asked a few questions got a great deal on riptide.

If your into zombies ,fast paced games,like left4dead.This is a fun free roam game.

Can never go wrong with a good zombie killing game. First one was great and left you wanting more.
