Highly recommend this game to any fan of the Final Fantasy Franchise!! I feel this game took them one step farther and I look forward to future installments of FF from Square-Enix!! Maybe some DLC next time?

every ff game is awesome. i cant wait until ff14 online comes out 2010 as well! i recently quit playing ff11..and bought a ps3 waiting for ff14 to come out..:) ff13 and ff14 online looks awesome.

I am a huge fan of the Final Fanasy series, but I am not impressed with this game at all. The story line is so boring that I would actually get up and do chores around the house while the long cut scenes were going on. The music during most of the chapters was bad. The game was extremely linear, and after 25 hours when we finally get to an open-field area, we are only there for an hour then we have to go back where we came from. What was the point of that? You will see what I mean when you get there. I was able to win 90% of all battles by just pressing the X button repeatedly. Oh, and get this, there are only 2 stats in this game: Strength and Magic. It's like they gave up on the defense idea entirely besides some accessories you can wear. I was anticipating the arrival of this game for years. Maybe I set my expectations too high, but this game did not live up to the Final Fantasy name.

For those who don't know, Final Fantasy XIII has 3 pieces, all of which take place in the same universe, but in a different location and time. Final Fantasy Versus XIII Final Fantasy XIII Final Fantasy Agito XIII This of course is the 1st installment. Final Fantasy XIII is slated for release in 2010. I hope this clears up any confusion, which is the one we see footage of all over the web. Details of the other two have been well not that well publicized in the US. You can find some info on WIKI with links to Versus and Agito's Japanese websites. You will need to set your browser to translate the webpages for you if applicable.

you start out using one character at a time, to learn them, and now im able to use the different ones and the story is great!! totallly enjoying the game!!!!!!

Any fan of the series will enjoy this new addition. Plenty of hours of great storyline along with many, many hours of sidequests will keep you coming back.

Awesome game, loved playing it.Could of been better i think, but i loved playing it! Some parts of the story line make you want to cry and then cheer yay!

This is Final Fantasy versus XIII which means the main character is a guy. The game uses the White Engine which is supposed to use six out of eight of the cell processors in the PS3. Square-Enix always uses high quality sound which means it will more than likely have 7.1 Dolby Digital as an option. This is not a classic RPG style game. This one will play more like Kingdom Hearts if you want a decent reference. Nothing is really known about the story yet. This is one of two Final Fantasy XIII games coming out for the PS3. I am looking forward to this game's release.

its a typical rpg, but being that its a final fantasy game, its a good one. Very good graphics though.

I've played and beaten the game and have owned just about every single Final Fantasy game there is. The games linearity, which is referenced in other reviews, adds to the game. It keeps the story focused and makes the experience all that much better. I think the linearity was a great experiment. It also opens up late in the game which really dispels (<--- Final Fantasy reference. YESSS!!!) being too upset with the story driven game. Overall this game was a great experience and I look forward to any future entries into this series.

Final Fantasy games are always amazing and this one is as well. It takes a little while to get going, but it gets good.

Great game to play, rich detail and story, and since I <3 Lightning its just the best!

I'm just a little amazed by those who choose to write a review about a game they know absoulutely nothing about other than how the preview looks. If I played games based on how good the previews looked, I would waste a lot of money. I'm just saying, don't put all your eggs in one basket. What looks terrible could end up being the best game you ever played. Sillies...

FFXIII is a great game, the battle system is one of the best in the series, but the game is mostly linear unlike previous FF's. I am about halfway through and can say the graphics are amazing. A little more exploring freedom early on would of been nice. Nonetheless still a great Final Fantasy.

I have played Final Fantasy dating back to FF III and up, it has progressively got better. In FF VII and up it was through the roof on cinematics. I played up until FF X, then didn't waste time on a PS2, but with that said, I can't wait for FF XIII to come out. That will bring me back into the Final Fantasy fold. Lookling forward to it.

This is probably my favorite Final Fantasy game in the series so far. There is a huge range of character personalities which makes the game very fun and intriguing. You will not be disappointed if you purchase this game. It was the most anticipated game for me in my entire life. Definitely worth every penny I spent on it.

I LOVE the Final Fantasy Game series... III, VII, VIII, and XII are some of my all time favorites, which is why FF XIII is probably the most dissapointing game I've ever played. It really isn't an RPG... it's a series of three fights with a HORRIBLE battle system followed by 20 minutes of cutscenes then repeating. There is almost no challenge to the game at all... you're really just kind of watching an interactive movie. They really dropped the ball on this one. If you ae a fan of RPGs don't buy this game, you'll probably hate it. Amazing graphics cannot hide a boring story and terrible battle system.

This game had an amazing storyline that kept me into it the entire game. The graphics were very impressive, the fighting system took a little getting used to, but after i got into it i loved it. Overall one of the best games I have ever played and definately the best final fantasy i have ever played.

This will more than likely be one of the best games going to come out for the PS3 before they bring out the PS4 XD. I'm recently just getting into the FFXI MMO and its looking sweet too! BB doesn't have it for 360 though :'( All FF games have been great from day one. Keep up the great work Square Enix!

Better price—word. Been meaning to get this game for a long while—glad I waited, because I don't like paying retail. Now, I can trade in at Best Buy later, take advantage of one of their trade in credit promotions.
