Even though I haven't gotten past the first big boss yet, you can tell that Square Enix has put a LOT of time & care into it. I do have to say that the first boss is a little too hard, tried to fight it many times & haven't played it since-was frustrating. Never had such a bad time trying to fight such like that at the beginning of a game. The characters are incredible & I love them already. So far the story has me hooked & will go back to trying that boss when I'm in the mood. All in all, I'd have to say it's an incredible game.

This game is amazing! Very fun and it lasts a long time with 3 disks. I am at the very end of disk 2 currenly and I have had this game since the day it came out. In-game graphics are amazing, best I've seen. I only wish that Square didn't reduce the cutscene resolution.

I'm a longtime, diehard FF fanatic and I expect the game to be a bounce back from the previous tiltle. I'll update this posting next week with details on gameplay, sound and the battle system.

I'm currently about halfway into playing, and let me say wow, it took everything to put this game down to write this review. This game's very fun to play. Athough it is true that the battle systems are a bit simple compared to other FF games, you do have the ability to change the attack stategy of your team, which can be very strategic with the big bosses. I only have two complaints; I'm not really in love with the story, it seems a little juvenile. Going hand in hand with that, this game seems to have way too many cutscense. I feel more like I'm watching a movie sometimes than I'm playing a game. Having said that, the story and the cutscenes are very perceptive, and for $60 dollars, you can't beat the price, and you'll definately get your moneys worth.

This game has had seriously split reviews. I bought the Japanese version for PS3, and have been playing it. I'm up to 64 hours of gameplay, and am just sick of it. If you're expecting something amazing out of this addition to the series, don't get your hopes up. I would strongly advise against buying this for $59.99 and would wait for those that did to return their copies so you can buy it used for less. I would not pay more than $39.99 if I had known what I know now. Google "disappointed FFXIII" and take a look at the reviews you find. On a side note, *stop giving this game, or any other game, 5-star reviews when you haven't even played it yet!*

The game has awesome graphics. I just got the game today and only have 4hrs of gameplay but for that 4hrs, no new attacks or magic yet. Still basic attacks. Thats how slow the game is.

Always been a FF fan and i enjoyed my recent purchase of FF13. Great Story and challenges. The new fighting system is really good and easy to learn. i really dont like that you have to be different characters throughout the story but that is how you experience everyones story and how they came to be

Final Fantasy 13 is but no means a bad game. Quite the opposite. There are so many good characteristics about this game that make it great. The one down fall it had for me was that it didn't ever feel like a final fantasy game to me. The game is very linear and and that goes for the character builds too. I loved suiting up each character in all the armors in the previous titles. Unfortunately, there isn't much room for that in this title.

I bought this game hoping it would fill a niche since I just finished Final Fantasy IV on Nintendo DS. While there are many promising things about the game, overall, the game basically loses a lot of enjoyment for me due to the fact that it is basically a ton of cutscenes followed by very narrow paths to walk through to move through the game. In addition, the fight system is totally based on autocasting. You choose to heal, debuff, buff, or attack, and the game determines which spells to cast - this is optional for the main character but there is no way to give explicit commands to the rest of your party. Due to the guided nature of the game and the feeling of auto-fighting, I was disappointed and didn't get a lot of enjoyment out of this game.

this will be, when it is released, amazing, but the other reviewer wrote that it is a recommend for any action/adventure fan and it is an epic RPG. fans of the series will love it regardless, but it is probably not for everyone.

I bought this game cause I was really in the mood to play Final Fantasy 7 but of course thats not possible with an xbox 360 so I bought this hoping to maybe get the same as I did from Final Fantasy 7. I do have the same the gameplay is the same but for some reason I couldnt get into it. Maybe I am just getting older but I played this for maybe 5 hours and stopped. I tried and tried to stay with it but I just couldnt. I cant even put my finger on it but I just felt like I was running around killing random monsters with no goal (even though again this is only after 5 hours of playing) Just odd that I cant really find the reason I couldnt get into this. Im currently playing Final Fantasy 14 a realm reborn on PS4 and I am hooked even though it is just going around killing random monsters but I feel I have a goal (it is a mmo game). Wish I could play final fantasy 7 on the ps4 one day...

The Game is really entertain g. Price is OK I guess, for a FF game I bought it. This is my first FF game and I wasn't disseminated I'm use to most Roll playing games but this was one of the funniest I played.

Great game...except!...the battle and other text is soooo small. It is very difficult to read, and the icons are tiny, you have to look them up and try to figure out what is happening from the colors! ( And I have a large tv!) Also, the monsters don't have the personallity they have in the past. They all, so far, look mechanical. But, it is a challenging game, visually awesome, almost like 'playing' a movie.

The story is incredible. There are so many twists and turns that you could never predict what's going to happen. The plot kept me so engaged and interested in the game, it was hard to put down. The gameplay itself was somewhat redundant: running around here and there and getting into battles, but the redeeming factor was the battle system. No 2 fights are the same and mastering the battle system is challenging and rewarding. I still have so much to do to master the battle system and I've already played the game for over 30 hours, so learning how to perfect your fighting skills is definitely a key aspect of the game. Overall, I highly recommend this game for any fan of the series and general RPG fans as well.

Being a huge (older) FF fan but only a new XBOX owner I had to get this game. It didn't let me down even though it wasn't the traditional RPG game I was expecting from the previous PC FF games I've played. This fact would have been obvious had I read the reviews about the game. Nevertheless it was still a very entertaining play.

This game is the greatest Final Fantasy Sequel in the franchise and if anybody and everybody on here with the other reviews who rate this game low and rate the Ps3 version high then your obviously are a fan boy and have something against the 360 cause your basically dissing the game you just wrote about that was so perfect, BAD, and therefore are a console fanboy and people on here want an actual review and or opinion so go take your low fact fanboy opinion from gamefaqs or youtube and keep it there, other then that this game is THEE greatest installment of the franchise..

this was a christmas gift to my husband who was happy to get the gift, i understand that it was used but the box came all torn up like it was hit with a weed wacker, but as long as the game works right?

If you like RPGs this game is a definite add to your collection. It delivers everything that you would expect from a Final Fantasy game.
