Another great game in the god of war series can’t go wrong with them

This game is exactly what it says: Remastered. If you want a new God of War game this is not for you. It is the same God of War III game you played on PlayStation 3, just out on a PlayStation 4. It does have improved graphics and looks fantastic all around. I would recommend this to anyone who likes the God of War series but can't currently play them because they got rid of their PlayStation 3 for a PlayStation 4 like myself. If your new to the God of War series, I recommend taking full advantage of purchasing the game if you have PlayStation Plus. You can play God of War I and God of War II. The downside to that is you need to have a PlayStation Plus account and the longer you wait you might need to sign up for the other PlayStation program. If all you played was God of War Ascension and did not like it, don't let that keep you from this title. It's a great price at $39.99 because you're not paying the $59.99 for a new game. $39.99 let's you play a game all over again with improved graphic or play a game for the first time.

Amazing game. Gorgeously rendered. Great story, and the combat is SO much fun. It was super challenging, and I enjoyed every minute of it!

It's one of the most thrilling openings in all of video games. As warrior-turned-deity-killer Kratos, you climb the Titan Gaia, who functions as a colossal, moving level upon which you battle Poseidon, the god of the sea. Gaia herself is one of Kratos' few remaining allies; her cries of pain pierce the air as you swing your chained blades, launching ghoulish soldiers into the air and slicing away at Poseidon and his many-legged steed. It is all sound and fury, almost unparalleled in its sense of scale and its translation of a protagonist's anger into bloody, brutal interactions. When Kratos strikes his final blow, you see it not from his perspective, but from his victim's point of view, in the first person. It's a striking and vicious design choice that sets the tone for the game to follow. You are no longer conquering the Greek gods as an enraged antihero, but as a full-on villain.

Great game and one of the best game franchises of all time I bought a PlayStation three this game was one of the many reasons got a PS4 for the Norse mythology god of war no regrets

It’s rare that a franchise can end on as high a note as it began, but God of War 3 is that. The perfect ending to the original Greek saga of Kratos. If you love hack and slashes, this is a must buy.

This is by far the best God of War game. It has the intensity of the ps2 games, but with better graphics. Interesting story too with familiar legends of Greek mythology. Not a fan of the newer versions on PS4, which seem less intense along with being more PGish. If you like how action games with in the PS2 and PS3 version, then this is for you.

While the new God of War games are excellent single player action-adventure games, it’s nice to be able to revisit the old beat’em-up classic.

Very awesome remaster. Still think they should have included the past two games, but for the price that I purchased it, totally worth it. Great story and action set pieces. If you want replay value though, this does not include much

For die hard GOW fans what else can we say? The series has never failed and this remastered is perfect and the graphics has been enhanced and improved in frame rate. Buying this to be played on the PS5 will even make the game run smoother than ever. The only disappointing thing I felt is that why didn’t they come out remastered trilogy instead? Hopefully, Sony would come out with a collection trilogy remastered for the PS5 as GOW fans still would like to play the PS2 and PS3 classic. Still, this is a very good version and was the last over top view platform game of its series.

I've played GOW 3 multiple times and I must say that the remastered version is definitely the prettiest one! It's a classic that I can always play time after time when I'm in between games. Never fails to amuse and excite me as I always try different levels and strategies the next time around. Price is great and you can never go wrong with a classic, just be careful with the younger gamers as this game is definitely intended for a mature audience. Other than that have FUN!!!

I really enjoyed the game and i like how realitic it felt every time I would kill either a God, a Titan or just a regular enemy. The game looked amazing and I had the feels at the end.the combat and moveset is one of the best I ever played . This games amazing and I really enjoyes it

Let me be clear, I would have given this game a full 5 stars but the fact that they decided to re-release the 3rd chapter of this series and not the first or the whole trilogy is confusing enough to lose a star. Not old enough to be considered a classic but this is definitely one of the greats. This game looked gorgeous on the PS3 and eventhough it doesn't look dated, you can see the difference. Its been long enough since my first play through to warrant a double dip and the fact that they are only charging $40 makes it money well spent. The tight controls, gorgeous graphics and epic story make it hard not to recommend. If you are looking for a kratos fix then this is the only way to go. Hopefully the others get the same treatment or a new game is on the horizon.

This is actually the second time I buy this game.... The first version I gave it away to be nice but it is such a wonderful game that I need to have it as part of my collection. The visuals are great and the story line keeps you on your toes. I cannot wait to run in to some time to play it again. The first time I went through it I did not put it down from begining to end. Yes, it is that addictive.

If you never played God of War 3 before or been wanting to play it again then God of War 3 remastered is definitely a must buy. Great story and combat. Decent graphical upgrade to a already amazing looking game.

Nice visual upgrades, same fun gory combat as before. Ultimately what won be over with replaying this on the PS4 was the nice price point. Worth the replay if you missed this before, or your just a big GOW fan.

GOW3 was great on PS3 - I find Kratos to be tired as a character, since he's always yelling and angry. But the game had a fun battle system, some amazing setpieces (such as the beginning, which is epic and picks up directly after the ending of GOW2) and probably the best graphics on PS3 behind The Last of Us and Uncharted 2/3. The PS4 version runs in 1080p, 60fps, if you have a nice TV it looks great. Expect to see God of War 4 at E3.

This was a game that already looked phenomenal on the PlayStation 3 and now upgraded to PS4, it looks amazing. The gameplay is very fun if you're into fast paced hack and slash with a few puzzles thrown in to give your mind a little bit to chew on. Story got a bit over the top, but it was still good if you're able to accept the fact that Kratos just isn't a good person and not hold that against him. This is a must play for most.
