Sid Meier basically invented this game genre and once again he works his magic with Civilization Revolution. These build-a-civilization-and-go-to-war games are great on PC, but for the most part they arent very good on game consoles because the controls dont translate from keyboard to controller very well. This is one of the few exceptions! The interface for this game strikes a nice balance between ease-of-use and degree of controll when deciding the fate of your people. If the game mechanics were any simpler, the game would be.... well, over-simplistic. If the mechanics were any more complicated, it would be difficult to play without a keyboard
The game is turn based, which is nice when you arent in the mood for a crazy intense dont-blink-for-an-hour gaming session. You can walk away and fix a snack inbetween turns without consequence. Because it isnt a fast paced game, I like to play one player mode with my girlfriend - we both discuss and decide our strategy. When I name a great city/river/grassland after her I earn bonus points. *high-five*.
A cool thing worth noting - the advisors "speak" much in the same way as the the citizens do in The Sims (also a Sid Meier game). When you hear your advisor speak, you may or may not wet yourself - it's that funny.

This game is awesome! If you're familiar with the series, then you'll love this game. I hear the console versions aren't as good as the PC version, but if you haven't played on PC then you'll enjoy this port. Wide variety of characters to choose from. Intense gameplay. Good amount of difficulty settings. The only bad part is that there is no story mode. You can only play matches. So you'll find yourself picking up a game or two a day that can last quite a bit.

In a nutshell, Civilization Revolution is a streamlined Civilization experience for the console gamer. If you have a lot of time on your hands, and you've been curious what Civilization is all about, this game is a good start.

Great strategy game for all ages and very addictive. Harder levels become very difficult, but AI characters become predictable the more you play.

Just like Risk, take over the world to win. You can choose from multiple nations and be famous people from that nation.
