My 6 year old was able to grasp the concept and play fairly well with out too much help and my 9 year old found the levels challenging enough that he was not board with it in a week. It is almost impossible to find a game that they will both play.
I would recommend this to a friend

Bought for a 6 year old. He didn't like it one bit. Went back to Mario Kart.
