This game is at least a 3/5. It really reminds of Dead Rising 3. Open city, strange combo weapons, and hordes of creatures to fight, with fetch quest and the usual in-store. What makes it different is the skate controls, is what I would call it. Instead of running everywhere or using vehicles, you grind ledges of buildings, fences and other things to travel swiftly. You also use parkour like moves along with crazy high jump/bounces to move up and down the outside of buildings. It is an interesting concept and feeling but I'm not sure if I really like the feel of the character movement. Its not in anyway bad, just different and personally I can't decide if I like it or not. Also the humor is way over the top. Again this is a personal preference thing. If you think the humor in Dead Rising is over the top than this is out of the park. Watch some youtube video's of gameplay before you buy. While I had fun playing it, I don't know if I had MSRP money's worth fun of playing it. Personally I wish I had waited till it was a reduced price title, but who knows, you may find it awesome.

Vibrant colors in a open world of craziness. Great deal for the low price.

Sunset Overdrive is just great fun to play. It is very colorful and the goofy in game comments just add more color to an already colorful game. The death sequences are a welcome addition to the comic relief this game has to offer from the vampire out of a coffin to the Star Trek transporter respawn. In a day when many games can take themselves to seriously Sunset Overdrive is great fun

A lot of fun to play, so many weapons and fourth wall breaking by the character.

Just got an Xbox one a few months ago and this game was on my absolute need to play and was not disappointed. It's great for casual play and the cartoon-style graphics set in a punk rock apocalypse is great. Kids and adults will enjoy it, but if you are buying it for kids put on to censor mode as it has quite a bit of adult humor/content. Highly recommended overall!

This zombie apocalypse game is so much fun to play ,traversing through the city on power lines, grinding on rails etc. It's packed with lots of weapons and character customization, graphics are superb, and there are hundreds of zombies to destroy. You'll have a blast!!! I highly recommend getting this if you like non stop action and blowing zombies to smithereens

At first, I was hesitant in picking up the game. I was unsure about the "skateboarding" angle, but once I started playing it; I couldn't stop. It was different, fast, humorous, and fun overall. Not too many play the online portion of the game. I wish the campaign was cooperative at least at the local level. Other than that, I am very pleased with the game.

I just beat Sunset Overdrive, and it has to be the most fun and over the top game I've played in years. I had the most fun with all the crazy weapons, overly exaggerated jumps, and of course the grinding. Actually, the more style points you build up by bouncing off cars, and grinding, the more damage you will inflict. The story itself doesn't take itself seriously and is purely a fun ride that any comedy and action fan will enjoy. There's also a lot to explore in the city itself, and offers many side quests that you can unlock throughout the game. So, bottom line is that Overdrive is worth playing, but may not have replay ability value to some. I'm sure I probably don't have to mention this, but this game is rated M, and is not suitable for children. It's packed with strong language and tons of violence.

I wasn't expecting a lot from Sunset Overdrive. Leading up to the release of this game, I was unsure if the unique "Tony Hawk with guns" gameplay was something that would work well. I'm glad to say that Insomniac nailed it. Moving around the city doing tricks and shooting bad guys feels great. I often forgot there was fast travel because going from point a to b was so much fun. Take it from a mainly PC gamer, the graphics are impressively detailed and bright. If you wanted to see something that flexes that next-gen muscle, this is it. The missions are ok. Nothing exceptional or groundbreaking for an open world game. The humor has its moments where it made me grin, but it can fall flat at times as well. I wasn't overly impressed with the soundtrack and vibe the game gave off. The punk rock theme gets old quick and lacks variety. This is all very much just personal preference though. Overall, I feel this is a great starting point for the franchise. Insomniac has the basic gameplay down, which is what I believe matters most. If you fondly remember the early Tony Hawk games or 3rd person action games that have color, this is a breath of fresh air. I expect great things from the inevitable Sunset Overdrive 2.

I for one thought this game was a breath of fresh air. Not every game has to be a Triple A gunfest. I'm happy this has more of a tongue-in-cheek tone to it highlighted by the color palette and imaginative arsenal. Loads of fun and hours of play and replayability. The premise is entertaining and that's all I can ask for. Variety is the spice of life.

This game is a ton of fun to play! The main campaign doesn't take too long to beat but the side missions really beef up the playing time. Add in collectibles and you will be playing for a good amount of time. This game is also a ton of fun to just play for an hour or two and goof off. It does seem pretty original from other games I've played.
