Unbeatable Value for a Great Series

The Nathan Drake series of games has been a hit for good reason. Great graphics, great gameplay, and a story line that for better or worse guides you from start to finish. Difficulty can be moved up and down and you never find yourself so stuck that the game becomes more frustrating than enjoyable to play. I had the first two games for my PS3, but moving to a PS4 pretty much ended my Drake playing. This collection brings you the 3 current games in the series (the 4th edition is scheduled to drop in 2016) to the PS4, with some remastering done to take advantage of the better PS4 hardware. The first two games are certainly more difficult than the third, and in fact, the third feels like it's running out of steam towards the end, with a fairly easy final battle (in Normal mode) that doesn't hold a candle to the run and shoot that is the ending of the 2nd game. I'm a much bigger fan of third person shooting games than I am first person, which probably puts me in the minority. I find I can control the player much better from that perspective. At some point Drake may move to a first person shooter, but in its current format, I think it's perfectly executed. Drake remains one of my favorite franchises on the Playstation platform. Hand to hand combat, shooting, fantastic graphics, reasonably witty dialogue...I am eagerly awaiting the 4th game.

    3 Amazing Games

It's understandable why Naughty Dog and Sony would want to re-release these games to next-gen. These games were highly praised last gen and it's all well deserved. Naughty Dog was known for Crash and Jak and Daxter on previous consoles but Naughty Dog really defined themselves with the Uncharted series along with The Last Of Us in my opinion. But to get to the point, if you have a chance to play these games, PLAY THEM! These are amazing games! The stories for these games are beyond good and the graphics are great. The bump in graphics for the PS4 collection are noticeable, but definitely not on the same level as a next-gen. Naughty Dog (BluePoint who did the remaster) and Sony didn't re-release these games for the graphics, they released this collection for the new gamers to the Playstation platform who maybe had an XBOX 360 last generation. The first game, Drake's Fortune, is the weakest of the bunch, but still really good. The second one, Among Thieves is a perfect 10 for me along with the 3rd one, Drake's Deception. If you plan on playing the new Uncharted game coming out next year, A Thief's End, I would suggest picking these up and playing these first. Or if you're interested in the Uncharted series, pick these up, these are amazing games!

I have never played any Uncharted games before purchasing this collection. I have a PS4 and thought, "why not get some of the best games for the PS3?" I have also played, and thoroughly enjoyed The Last of Us, which is by the same developer (Naught Dog) as Uncharted 1-3. For the price this might be one of the best gaming values since The Orange Box. Three fantastic games, each one taking about 8-10 hours to complete (could be much more if you are a trophy hunter) and every second of the time is enjoyable, particularly Uncharted 2. Fantastic. It is also very nice to have them all on one disc so when one is finished just hop onto the next one. Here is a review of each individually. Uncharted: Drake's Fortune - This game was released in 2007, and can at times feel a bit, but I am getting ahead of myself. You play as Nathan Drake, a descendant of Sir Francis Drake searching for the fabled city of gold, El Dorado. There are other important characters, all of which get their own development (except the bad guys) and overall the story feels pretty solid, even if sometimes you are not exactly sure why these people are shooting at you, they just are. The mechanics leave something to be desired at items, but overall are pretty good. Drake is very physically adept and spends much of his time leaping and climbing from ledge to ledge and you occasionally leap to a ledge and the game thinks "Jump to that ledge or drop to your death? I am pretty sure you meant drop to your death" And it does. There are various difficulty levels from “Easy” to “Crushing” so it does allow you to choose your own frustration, depending on how experienced you are with shooters. The graphics look better than 2007 graphics due to the game being remastered by BluePoint Games and really, they’re pretty good, nothing special, but they never get in the way. Overall though, the game play is fun, the shooting mechanism is pretty good, and the story is excellent. Also, you don't NEED to play this one first, but I do highly recommend it for story pieces in the second game. 8.5/10. Uncharted: Among Thieves - Among Thieves was released in 2009, but feels almost brand new when you play it. This has been called one of the greatest video games of all time, and I can see why. The gameplay in this one is relatively similar to the first with Drake climbing and Jumping all over the place, and shooting the baddies with the copious amounts of ammo lying around. However, almost every gripe about mechanics in the first Uncharted is fixed for this one. The game is incredible. The physical things Drake does feels more natural and intuitive, falling to your death on accident is less common and even the shooting mechanics are improved. The story is very solid now with pretty much every aspect being explained clearly, but the real bonus to this game is the variety of landscapes, scenery, characters and mechanics required throughout the story. Each plot arc feels like it could be its own game. I would love to say I have something bad about this game, but it is pretty much perfect. If I absolutely had to pick an issue, I would say that sometimes, the game can’t tell if you meant “jump to the ledge” or “reach for the ledge” which can make the movement a little spotty, but believe me, that is rare and just me searching for a problem. 9.9/10 Uncharted: Drake’s Deception – Drakes Deception was released in 2011, but the graphics look great and the game feels very modern. The stellar reviews for this game are legitimate. I will have to agree with most and say it is not quite as good as Uncharted 2, but it is only because 2 was so extraordinary. The story again is good, going into the backstory of Nate and Sully’s relationship and introducing a new main character. It all works together and keeps you engrossed throughout your play through. The puzzles in this one seem to be more complex and fun than the other two as well, challenging, but still relatively quick to get through. I enjoyed them most in this game. This game did feel a little more glitchy than the other two however, when it came to just general exploring and gun battles. Enemies would be dead, but still standing (sounds creepier now that I write it) so you keep shooting them waiting for them to die, wasting time and bullets. There was also an instance where a treasure or collectible was sitting on a table and the game would not let me pick it up. I don’t know what it was, but there are achievements for collectibles and if I was attempting them on this play through, that would have been extremely frustrating. All of that aside, the game is still great, and is worth a play if you have a PS4. 9.2/10 This collection is an incredible value. The gameplay is great, the graphics are beautiful and they are worth playing for the story alone. If you have a PS$ there is no reason not to own this collection. 9.5/10 NOTE: This collection is only the single-player parts of the game; no multiplayer is included.

The Uncharted series is an expertly executed love letter to the pulp adventure serials that inspired Indiana Jones and Tomb Raider. Three fantastic games, near perfect even in their original release, now remastered and smoother. All three games, particularly the latter two hold up extremely well even by today's standards. They're still visual marvels, with some of the finest animation, voice acting, and visuals in the industry. This collection does not include the multiplayer from the latter two games, but includes all the single player tweaks, including a plethora of skins and such that the original release of Uncharted 3 was sorely missing. There's also a speed run mode that includes a timer, stat tracking and comparisons, and a new difficulty mode: "Brutal". Brutal is the only blemish I can think of on an otherwise solid package. The new difficulty is incredibly unfair, poorly balanced, and not worth the frustration. I envy those who are able to pick up this collection and experience these games for the first time, but even as a fan from the initial release, I'm still enjoying these games very much. This is a perfect way to prepare for Uncharted 4.

Anyone looking for a video game version of Indiana Jones, needs to play the Uncharted Collection. The games look and sound even better than they originals did. If you enjoy an action adventure, more story focused game then this collection is for you. This collection is a great way to take a break from all the open world games that have been released this year. It is a third person shooter along with some puzzle solving and platforming. The story gets better and better from each game, with all of the games having some reference to the previous game, making the characters more relevant and showing how they have evolved/changed over time. All three games are on one single disc. The best part of the collection is the price, you are getting three of the best PS3 game in one collection remastered for a great price and for even a better price if you are part of the Gamers Club Unlocked.

Then this PS4 port will definitely be a worthwhile buy. I would prefer a new game but a remaster on a better console with improved graphics is always a good thing if the price is not too high. I bought The Last of Us Remastered and Tomb Raider Definitive Edition (also a remaster) and this Uncharted Nathan Drake Collection (a remaster) yet another great update. I was not sure about it initially but then I saw a few reviews and compared the look of the PS3 vs PS4 and I was sold. There is another game, Beyone 2 Souls that is getting a PSN only remaster. That too looks worth the $30. So if you liked the Uncharted series at all or never played it and want to get all 3 games at once for a super cheap price, there is no better way to go than this. I still have all 3 PS3 original games and I keep as a collector but I play ONLY the PS4 version.

This is an excellent deal for anyone with a PS4 who has yet to experience the Uncharted series. I played the first Uncharted (UC) a few years and I wasn't a huge fan. It was good game, but I wasn't a huge fan of shooters. Now present day, I play Destiny and CoD religiously and can now appreciate the excellent mechanics of the 3rd person shooter. UC1 gets 4/5. UC2 blows UC1 away by SEVERAL miles. Better graphics, story, writing, gameplay, its just amazing in every sense of the word, UC2 5/5. UC3 was more along the lines of UC2, but not as amazing (our bar for Naughty Dog is so ridiculously high lol) but that doesn't make it a bad game. When UC2 is your bar for excellence, its likely you'll miss, UC3 4.5/5. I totally recommend. UC2 and 3 are really long games that will leave dying in anticipation for UC4.

The Uncharted games are graphically attractive, and tell relatively satisfying pulpy adventure stories. The puzzles are interesting, and the climbing mechanics are pretty great. The problem lies in the gunplay. The games feed you enemies for drawn-out wave-based firefights. The shooting mechanics are subpar, and for games that ask you to shoot hundreds of enemies, it gets boring fast. The AI is mediocre at best, and most enemies are little more than bullet sponges that don't react to being shot unless it's a fatal blow. The games get better from 1 through 3, but only the most recent's mechanics should be considered even adequate by modern standards. The earlier games have not aged as well. Overall, the collection tells fun, dumb, pulp adventure stories, but with a blank slate lead character and the weight of poor gunplay mechanics dragging them down.

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake collection is the finest remastered collection of games that I have played to date. Where other remasters want you to pay full price for a single game, the Uncharted collection gives you three! Where other remasters are comfortable with a quick upscale to 1080p, the Nathan Drake collection gives you a complete graphical overhaul of all three games, bringing them up to date with the best games the PS4 has to offer. Additionally, the controls have been tweaked in the original game, bringing it up to par with it's sequels. It also doesn't hurt that these are three of the finest games of the previous generation, and if you haven't played them, (or even if you have) this collection comes highly recommended.

PlayStation 3's greatest series comes to PlayStation 4 in one must own package. Sharper visuals, smoother framerates, polished controls and graphical improvements make this epic trilogy even sweeter to play than it already was. If you missed out on this series on PS3, and are remotely interested in fast action, incredible characters, a deep story and fantastic writing, do yourself a favor and buy it. If you, like me, loved these games on PS3 and want to relive them before Uncharted 4 releases in 2016, this collection will be worth every single penny. It has been amazing replaying these games, reminding me why this was PlayStation 3's best series. Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection is an absolute must buy.

I just recently got a PS4 Pro after not having a PlayStation since I made the switch to the Xbox 360 years ago and have been a Xbox owner since then. After a string of excellent games released for the PS4 I decided to pick one up and catch up on some of the excellent exclusives not available on the Xbox. I finished Uncharted 1 & 2 in this collections and I am about 1/3 of the way through 3. These are all excellent games that look really good for being older games. The graphics aren't quite as good as what is coming out now but for how old they are they hold up much better than I expected. The controls with the balancing, climbing, jumping are pretty forgiving so it doesn't become annoying or frustrating. Aiming can be a little annoying since there is no dot on the screen until you go into aim mode so often you have to make large adjustments to your aiming on the fly. Overall, they work very well. All the games are very similar in how it plays but you do see extra touches and updates in each subsequent game. The story for these games are all very cinematic and I feel they can be best described as Indiana Jones meets Tomb Raider. So these are all excellent games that are worth the low cost you can get in this single package. Once I finish up 3 I look forward to getting to Uncharted 4 before the deluge of new games come out this fall.

Uncharted lovers! It is awesome that this franchise is now on the PS4. The remastered graphics are outstanding. What separates these games from all others is the remarkable story telling. Naughty Dog deserves so much respect for crafting unique gameplay & blending it with a rich, gripping narrative. The characters are by far the best ensemble in gaming. Brought to wonderful life by an amazing cast, the dialogue is crisp: funny, serious, touching, heart-wrenching, heart-warming. Cannot wait for Uncharted 4: A Thief's End. Thank you Naughty Dog and to everyone involved.

I've never played Uncharted before buying this collection but it looked really interesting and had good things said about it. Even after reading reviews I was still hesitant until my boss spoke about it at work and said it was one of his favorite games. With everyone giving it good reviews I decided to finally buy it and wasn't disappointed. I enjoyed both the action and the few puzzles in all 3 games and became an Uncharted fan. I'm looking forward to and will definitely be getting the 4th installment when it comes out.

I ended up trading in the PS3 versions of this game a few months ago, knowing this was coming out. I'm glad I made this purchase. Playing through them again feels great. The controls are tight, and it's like watching my favorite movie again. Graphics look great. The first one may not be ridiculously beautiful, but they definitely overhauled it to the point that it's a ps4 game and not a PS3 game. You can tell it's an old game mostly by some of the conventional designs and systems used back then, like simple level design.

Whether you're a long-time fine or new to the series you can't go wrong. Three epic games that pushed the boundaries for voice acting, motion capture, animation, soundtrack, cinematic story-telling, and level design for the price of one! It simply can't be beat. As someone relatively new to the Playstation community, I felt that I should give some of its core franchises a try. I thoroughly enjoyed Naughty Dog's The Last of Us, so when I saw that the studio's Uncharted games had been remastered for PS4, I knew the collection would be worth my time. Indeed, this was case. While the first game in the Nathan Drake Collection does feel somewhat dated, the second and third installments in the franchise are well worth your time. What's more, the updated textures for these two games are stunning on the PS4, and their stories are compelling. While these games don't quite live up to the high bar set by The Last of Us, that is to be expected given their age. That being said, for the price of one modern AAA title you get three great games. If you're looking for bang-for-your-buck, you certainly can't go wrong with The Nathan Drake Collection.

I played the original PS3 releases, and this is a stellar touch up of those games. The visuals (though they vary per game) really stand up, the frame rate is consistent enough and the controls are even better, with minor changes like blind fire, and a new difficulty mode. The value can't be overstated, it's truly great when these games are $60 on retail. No online is fine since it'd be too much for Naughty Dog, and we have the free beta.
