For the last 10 yrs. I've been using Focusrite Sapphire 56 interface for all my audio recordings on windows 7. It was equipped with FireWire 800, now in 2021, I purchased Presonus Quantum 2626 to replace my Sapphire. I also jumped from Microsoft Windows over to an Apple Mac Pro 16" laptop. To make it all work you will a Thunderbolt 3 cable, not a 2 or 1 unless you purchase an adapter. FireWire was fast but this is faster, zero latency. I had no problem downloading drivers from presonus website, you need their Universal control app to do it. I also use Studio One 5 as my DAW and everything works flawlessly. I should add which I failed to do in another review I made, the Thunderbolt 3 cable from Apple is only 2 1/2 feet long so computer and interface/2626 must be in close proximity. I feel overall this unit is easier to navigate with external equipment and it has all the features you'll ever need to make a successful recording.

    Thick as a Brick

After 11 months, it's become a brick. I can power it on, but cannot get audio from the mains or headphones. Presonus support is only via email, and often a week from submitting a ticket until you get a reply. They have no solution to my problem. I'm sorry I bought this. The included software seems designed for sound engineers.

I was *upgrading* my home equipment from a 150 dollar interface, the UR 22 (which has worked perfectly for me for over 6 years and I would recommend over this any day), I have outboard gear and all that fun stuff. Well, no matter what play back is coming out whether it is my DAW, the internet explorer, windows, doesn't matter the sound crackles out my left speakers through every output this interface has. The main out puts, both headphone ports and with multiple headphones. I went to PreSonus customer support, and I waited 14 hours for them to just close my ticket without any warning without giving me a bit of help even after I gave them every piece of information they asked for. I would not recommend for my worst enemy to deal with PreSonus customer support, ever.

Extremely low latency and simple Thunderbolt 3 connection. For the price, it’s a no-brainer, I have been using mine for around two years.(since it first came out whenever that was, was waiting on its release.). The XMAX preamps are satisfactory although now I’m using Warm audio via backpanel inouts for most analog inputting. I don’t know what to say, it’s never given me a problem, works flawlessly with Logic. I don’t know what else I could want. Surprised to see Best Buy listing this item.
