I watched this film when it was released on Hulu, not expextinf much more than a Scify channel cgi fest but boy was i wrong and pleasantly surprised! The Predator franchise has been one of my favorites over the years, ever since i saw the original in theaters back in the 80s, but they have gotten worse with each release imo. This one gets back to it’s roots and delivers big action and compelling, tension filled dramatic scenes. The steelbook packaging is gorgeous and well done. The issue i had was with Best Buy, i ordered this online ans had to return it after it was delivered in what was essentially a plastic bag, thinner than a ziplock sandwhich bag. It arrived damaged because of this and rather than spend $45 of a damaged item, regrettably returned it in store for a refund, as it was sold out and couldn’t be replaced. I know Best Buy will no longer be selling physical media after the first of the year, which is extremely said on many levels, and it probably has a lot to do with low profit margins on the items ans a lot of returns for damaged case, loose discs, etc., but most of the returns could easily be avoided by simply using better shipping materials. For steelbooks especially, a box ahould always be used or at least a thick cardboard dvd mailer. Thanks for the movies over the years BB, you will definitely be missed.

First off Best Buy needs to limit the amount of copies a individual can buy so everyone has a chance to preorder. Sometimes it’s sold out before a release date is set. You’ll find plenty of copies on EB from resellers. As for the movie this is a girl power production. Figuring Dutch barely made it out alive and all his men were killed. They did a fine job with this, based on their limited budget. Too bad they didn’t stick with all native language throughout the film. It’s well shot but not a whole lot of story, at least believable anyway. This is the third best in the franchise. The steelbook is just okay, but at least it arrived with no damage.

First...all the negative reviews are justified, in that this was only available for a short period of time for preorder, and many people had this shipped to them in simply an envelope, resulting in damage to the steelbook. I was lucky enough to jump on the preorder right away, and my order shipped (loosely) in a box big enough for a pair of shoes. No damage. As for the movie itself, it's a great addition to the Predator franchise, with such a great setting that even if it wasn't part of the Predator franchise (with some other type of alien) it still would have been an excellent movie.

For starters, the artwork on the outer steelbook looks amazing. I love the menacing look of the Predator it displays. Not a fan of the inside artwork but I can deal with that since ill rarely see the inside anyway. As for the film itself - ten out of ten. Great story and it was refreshing to go back in time with the storyline before all the classic characters we know and love. We get to see more of an origin story of the earlier predators. I had hoped for a bit more action but other than that and the poor inner artwork, no complaints on my end. Get this steelbook and you wont regret it.

I pre-ordered this, but still expected to see it available in stores, in case my shipped copy arrived damaged. Shocked to discover that none of the local stores had this in stock on release day. Any no idea that this would be a repeat of Exorcist. However, Best Buy shipped the steelbook in a box, which is a refreshing change from the previous bubble wrap shipments I received from them for other titles. And the copy of the Prey steelbook I received was in perfect condition. Thank goodness, especially since The Little Mermaid steelbook that I received in a separate box on the same day had a dent. Anyway, this Prey steelbook looks a lot better in person than in photos. The online photos don't do it justice. It's too bad that those who weren't able to get this steelbook probably will need to go to the secondary market to try to purchase a copy, given that this steelbook is a limited edition.

Kept my expectations very low after the 2018 Predator movie, but Prey really went above and beyond that bar. I was raised on the original so this one holds true while complementing the additions Robert Rodriguez brought to the predator universe. CGI was a little goofy, pacing was a little slow, but despite those imperfections it's a solid predator movie when it comes to the action. Wish they had an artist's design on the steelbook. B+

The steelbook arrived in pretty good condition, there are minor dents on the back top side, but it doesnt affect the front artwork/functionality so its not a big deal. Most likely I’ll try buying another two copies of this, since its a good movie and steelbook, it would be nice if the others were dent free, but its not a major detractor, you wont be bothered by it while watching the movie. Maybe an Ultraman Steelbook style front protector cover would do a good job. I havent experienced a full art outer cover yet, but I think the next prey steelbook should probably have a full art outer cover, possibly similar to the limited reprint Steelbook of Ghost in the Shell (25th anniversary)

We can assertain why Disney doesn't want us to own physical media, they want to retain the rights and they want to control their content in their app. But come on, that's just not cool for people like me who want to have a movie library. Anyway, that finally released this. The quality is solid, the sound seems a little low, but picture quality was great.

And an awesome packaging. I don't know why it was so hard to get but glad i got one.

Got mine and the condition was great. Glad Disney finally did this. The only bad part is the steep price and no digital, but mostly likely because they want you to stream it if it's not the physical copy.

Solid entry into the Predator franchise. The last movie was so bad I thought they wouldn’t make any more. I am glad they put this on disc so people who care about quality can enjoy watching it instead of crappy picture and sound you get with streaming.

Super cool to own this in physical form since it was originally a HULU exclusive. Glad they did the movie justice in this release, even including a Comanche audio track! Copies in stores appear mostly mint, even when ordering online (mine arrived mint in box at my doorstep, unlike the abysmal Sisu release..), making this is a homerun release from a collector's perspective.

Pre-ordered on day of Prey 4K steelbook's release announcement on Blu-Ray.com. Arrived two months later in large cardboard box delivered from USPS. MINT CONDITION. Picture & audio quality amazing compared to Hulu streaming. Highly recommended, hopefully a second run will be available from Best Buy.

Excellent revitalization of the franchise, finally. Great reimagining of the predator mythology. The steelbook looks great. But came in two pieces! $40 bucks well spent. Thanks BB for that 4 dollar refund. :/

Look, I already have this movie on bluray, I missed the first opportunity to grab this steelbook, so I did. The movie is way better than I thought it would be. I'm not a predator fan actually, the first predator was okay to good, but I didn't like any of the other iterations or offshoots, or story lines tied to other universes characters etc. But this was definitely worth grabbing again.

First off the cover art for the steelbook case is cool. The movie itself was very good. Especially for the budget and the actors. You could pick it apart with several things like the natives speaking very good english but it is the best of the current predator movies. I cant wait to see a sequel or even more predator movies and hopefully one even farther back in time

Ordered twice from Best Buy. Showed up flawlessly in both mailings. A definite surprise because I only bought this because of the trailer on You Tube. Although not publicized, except for the trailer, it has probably exceeded all expectations when it comes to physical media sales, especially the 4K Steelbook. So take that, you bean counters, who think that you know everything.

 this movie was great. I was very surprised when I first saw it on Hulu. I was never the biggest predator fan, but this movie appeal to me as something unique and different. The quality of the 4K is amazing. Definitely well worth the price regardless if you buy the steel book, edition, or the regular edition, highly recommend this movie to any action genre fans out there

Late review been seeing other reviews of other with damage Steelbooks that sucks. I was fortunate to get mine with now damage I Iove the artwork an happy to have this movie to my other Steelbooks the this franchis.
