If you've seen other reviews, you'll probably know that the controls are tight and responsive, with great combat and fun exploration. But what I want to highlight isn't just how the traversal abilities feel for getting around, but how well they play into the puzzle design! It felt far better than most metroidvanias. Overall a really good game, albeit with some undercooked characters/narrative beats but if your main focus is on the gameplay feel for a title like this/this genre, you can't go wrong here!

This game is excellent and will probably end up being a sleeper hit, but it really deserves more recognition for just how solid the gameplay is and how well they reimagined the Prince of Persia franchise. This game is like the culmination of the past decade+ of gaming, in that there are Souls-like elements (bonfires, respawning enemies, tough combat, interlinking areas) on top of the classic-style sidescrolling platforming found in the original Prince of Persia or Symphony of the Night or any Metroid-vania type game. The platforming really surprised me as controlling Sargon feels good all around, but anyone familiar with the wall jumps from Sands of Time will instantly recognize that tactile feel of soaring in the air and timing your jumps with your weight hitting the wall. It demonstrates to me that the team was incredibly thoughtful and respectful to the franchise and they should really be proud of making something that I feel stands alongside and maybe even surpasses its previous incarnations.
Man it’s an excellent game, at least buy it on sale if your even thinking about it a little bit, at least to encourage more of this level of quality in games.

I love everything about this game. The platforming, artstyle, music, story; and even the combat are all stellar. This game is structured ina similar to the classic Metroid/Castlevania gameplay loops, but with the homage and refinement of the older Prince of Persia games that came before Sands of Time.

A challenging metroidvania with one of Ubisoft's best franchises. This game is super stylish, clever, challenging and unique. I completed the game and wished I could keep playing more. The bosses were my absolute favorite thing of the game as well as the traversal.

Where do I even start when it comes to this metroidvania masterpiece? There was never a dull moment with this game. There were some parts where the back tracking did get kind of annoying, but other than that, it was a great journey.

The series actually started off as a 2D platformer and this game shows us that the gameplay style for 2D games isn't anywhere near dead. The gameplay is a great mix of platforming, puzzle solving and action combat and thankfully unlike the new Ubisoft games that came or are coming out the game is still on the disc. Also looks like Ubisoft is trying to save face as all their games are on sale and getting this game for $25 was definitely a no brainer. Also while it seems it's going the way that Immortal Fenyx Rising did both games should not be overlooked and gamers should get them both before it's too late.

This could be a sleeper game of the year for 2024. One of the great Metroidvanias. Felt like this came out of no where and delivered an epic experience.
It includes everything you'd want from a Metroidvania type of game - exploration, scope, combat, deep mechanics. This game is a chonky boy! The map is huge, and with the difficulty turned up, it's going to take you a while to fight past certain sections, and especially bosses.
If you're into these type of games, e.g., Ori, Hallow Knight, Metroid Dread - then this is a no brainer.

Ubisoft knocked this Metroidvania out the park with this Prince Of Persia reimagined version. Great Combat, Exploration, the works!! Thank you Best Buy:)

Such a great game. If you like metroidvania games this will scratch that itch and then some. Its actually one of the best games i played in a long time. Never really got bored or lost and was always challenged with platforming but never too difficult were it killed the fun aspect of the game. Got to play this 10/10

I love this game, unfortunately I will have to restart it due to a game breaking glitch. That does not mean that I would give it any lower of a star rating. I loved the graphics, the side scroller feel and overall story.
