Its decent for the price. My complaint is that the straps are made for a large fat foot. I am a female with size 7 1/2 medium foot the straps are way too long. So no if you have a smaller foot than mine this would not be feasible. As you can see in the pic the Velcro is way to long to match up. I still have a little difficulty still trying to keep my foot from sliding out. I had to get my sewing machine out to shorten the strap. Which is not something most people can do.

We are glad you like the rower, but are sorry the straps on the footrests are larger than you prefer. We commend you for finding a solution on your own for now, but want you to know that we are making note of this for further consideration in future designs.

    Cannot be assembled

I just got moved and started to assemble the rowing machine. It has an enormous manufacturing defect and cannot be assembled. It it literally $799 garbage. Needless to say, I am furious. Best Buy says “not returnable.” I am sick. There is no hole to attach the bungee, and the rail cover holes do not align. The bracket jokes are in the left, the rail holes are on the right. This machine cannot be used.

We are very sorry that your rower cannot be assembled. The cover holes should align if it is assembled correctly. It sounds like you may have received a damaged unit.

I was rowing every day before an accident, after shoulder surgery I’m hesitant to spend too much money on a treadmill. I would say that the seat is the best, but either way it does it’s job and I was able to tell that it works to build muscle back slowly. Daughter uses it all the time. No issues.

If you follow the instructions and pay attention this unit is really easy to build and set up. So far I haven't had any issues with the unit, I wish it had more features on the screen. It doesn't let you clear your workout so you will need to either pop a battery out from the screen or let it go to sleep after two min. Build wise, it's very sturdy, I can see this thing lasting for a good while so long as it's maintained and kept clean and stored correctly. Overall a great cheap entry into fitness equipment for the casual user. I wouldn't say this is for the hardcore at-home gym person, its tension isn't up to snuff with actual gym equipment. But it's great if your beginning!

This machine works for a beginner home package. Resistance is okay on the upper dial. Assembly is pretty simple for one person. If you are looking for a more aggressive rowing machine, there are better options if you are willing to spend the money. If you are looking to work up a sweat after a long row, this one will take care of you!

Bought this on sale and it's great for a light workout to recover. The machine has weak resistance when on it. But overall great if you want a rower for a light workout.

We’re glad you have found this rower to be good for light workouts but are sorry you are not satisfied with the 8 resistance levels it provides.

This rower is indeed one of our smaller models to accommodate those looking for smaller investment in quality workout equipment. Perhaps you would be more interested in a larger machine.

Great machine for basic workouts. Construction and workmanship great no issues to report. Price is reasonable for a budget minded person. Easy to store in a garage or apartment. Yes, I would highly recommend this workout row machine for the beginner or intermediate novice.

I purchased this a month ago on a good sale. I wanted to try out rowing but wasn’t sure where to start. This machine has been perfect for that. I see myself upgrading to a nicer rower in a year or so, as long as I stick with it. I’ve been doing 20-30 minutes 5-6 days a week and it’s worked well. I wish there was more data I could go through, but, it’s for sure a basic model. If you want to start our rowing and not spend a lot, this is a great choice. Resistance doesn’t go super high, so again, it’s perfect for a beginner.

Have been using the Proform rower for Bout a week now. Easy to build when the directions are followed, no issues with hole alignments, went together in about 45 minutes. Noise level is on par with other machines. Using the included grease on the wheel tracks makes a difference. We also have it on carpet which helps keep it quiet. On hard floors a good equipment pad would be a good idea. Resistance is good for a solid cardio workout. For power training would need to add resistance bands.

Bought this for my son to start into exercise rowing. It was easy to put together (did it myself) and is nice a compact. If you don't need anything fancy and don't need the bells and whistles this is a good basic rower.

kind of rickety..... not the best-maybe for someone smaller than 250lbs 6' guy... even for a novice, it doesn't have enough resistance.

      AudiophileTX

We're sorry you found this rower to be rickety. This is unusual for our rower and we would like to help ensure that everything on this unit is functioning properly.

      Resistance:
Please know that rowers are designed to provide a cardio-based workout, not a weight or resistance-based workout. This means that you must get at least 20 strokes per minute in order to feel the resistance change.

At low strokes per minute, the fan speed is not fast enough for the resistance lever position to affect the resistance level. Although the resistance is changing, as evidenced in the volume of air displaced, the change felt by the user may not be as dramatic as expected.

The resistance on this machine is generated when the flywheel fan moves fast enough to push against and displace the air in the flywheel housing. The resistance lever opens or closes vents in the flywheel housing to control the amount of air the fan can push.

Rope broke after 4300 strokes and barely a month of use. Best Buy’s “support” is a joke told me to contact the manufacturer but wouldn’t tell me who the manufacturer is and ended the chat before I could even read their last response.

very weak and unhelpful. It just feels like a toy rower and does not offer any real resistance. it is a waste of time to go thru the process of buying, assembling, and returning. the price discount is exaggerated in best buy. Rest of the sellers do a much fair job

We’re sorry the rower isn’t giving you the resistance expected.
