Really like this game, great graphics, realistic controls and tons of tracks. Best SIM racer of this new generation of consoles. However...the PS4 version has significant blurring issues, blurring the foreground and other cars. I have been playing racing games for 20+ years and never gotten sick until last night when I played this one. I've heard the developer is working on a patch to fix. If they can fix this, this is a 5 star game. (worth noting that the blurring is not as evident on some tv's. I'm playing on 106" screen so it's very noticeable)

This game is awesome. Tons of tracks (with multiple layouts per track), superb physics, and amazing graphics/sound. I love that you can start a career at any level, and have multiple careers at once. My only gripe is that there isn't a huge list of cars. There are quite a few, but my personal preference would be to have a wider variety in each category. This is purely personal preference, though, so I can't really hold that against the game (since I knew that going in).

This game is mind blowing! It really raises the bar for Sim racers. The grafics are so beautiful you feel as if you can nearly taste smell the emissions from your tailpipe. On top of that everything has a setting. You can change your throttle sensitivity, your braking sensitivity, your steering, etc. When the track is slightly wet you feel a difference, when its raining cats and dogs you see nothing till your wipers take it off the shield, by that time turn five is upon you and you have to react immediately, however all you do is start to hydroplane. Though like I said, if that is too real for you, this game let's you turn on and off, up and down everything. That includes solar flares, rain effects, braking and steering assists, damage, etc. They thought of everything to make this game enjoyable for all racers at slightlymad and they did great! Now for more actual game specs rather than just all of its functions and settings. When you start a new career you get to choose any of the racing variations to start, from 125cc gokarts to formula 1. I know the gokarts sound silly, but these are not like your Mario kart gokarts, they are quick, light, and the tracks are fast with lots of turns. It is a great place to start and get use to controls, plus I mean who doesn't like gokarts. However, wherever you start, based off of your racing abilities you will get offers from sponsors, some moving you to different racing specs. So if you start in karts you will climb from bottom to top, but as I said you can pick any place to start. I personally chose karts because when I did quick play the game spanked me hard. This game is lots of fun, plus they add neat little quirks to your career, like in your career home there is a fake little twitter-like feed that has posts from your "fans". It really makes you feel like a modern day racer. This game captures the realness of racing to the very limit that you can give with a screen and controller, it is by far the best racing Sim I've ever played!

    Most Exciting Racer in Years

Most realistic & exciting racer. There is so much depth in this game. From racing karts to open wheel, there's so many different variety of race types. The Career mode is amazing with 8 different tiers. It's not extremely immersive but where it lacks there it makes up for in all the depth in car setups & racing. The AI is quirky. Sometimes they race smart & sometimes they race like your wife on a Sunday drive with the latter being at the back of the pack most times. The beauty of this game rivals Driveclub & Forza. Weather effects cause difficultly in racing but excitement. There's nothing like going into a corner with a mist covering your windshield from the cars in front of you. So if you're looking for excitement & a challenge then this is your racer.

    Great Driving Simulator

Project Cars is one of the few games out right now, especially for the PS4, that gives such a realistic driving experience. Every little detail is accounted for when driving at ridiculous speeds around some of the worlds most legendary courses. Among them is my all time favorite, the Nordschleiff Nurburgring. 13 miles of brutal turns and straightaways all simulated with some of the best weather, lighting, and driving physics I've ever had the pleasure of playing on. The cars look great too, and there's quite an array to get you started, with lots more to come as there are constantly new cars being released for download. The only negative is that you have no control over the looks of the cars nor do you add any of your own modifications. However, tuning them is completely open. You can tune each vehicle to your own style. You can set damper, bound, toe, camber, breaking, etc. for each wheel individually. And there's even more for the transmission and engine. It reminded me a lot of the way Dirt3 worked but more of a selection of vehicles and less of the same vehicle with different liveries. That being said, I wasn't at all bothered by the lack of visual customizability, especially after getting in a car and taking it around the track. Hearing how accurate each car sounds both inside and out also adds to the realism. When it all comes down to it my only gripe is the same one I have for GT4 and GT5, a steering wheel would make things a lot nicer. The game is good with a controller but is sorely in need of a steering wheel to truly complete the experience (which is notable considering the settings have it setup from factory for a steering wheel so you may have to do some tweaking in the settings to bring the sensitivity down a notch). I jumped right into a Lycan Hypersport on the Nurburgring and went 100% throttle out of the first turn and ate the wall literally 4 seconds in, so it definitely takes some getting used to. The game is completely open to you right from the get go so nothing has to be unlocked, you can jump in any car, any time, at any track, with any kind of weather or sunlight (or lack thereof). It's a true driving simulator. If just ripping it around the track in your favorite supercar in some of the most realistic driving physics ever isn't enough though, there is a career mode. The career mode works in seasons. You work your way through the ranks and compete in different races that randomly generate based on the season. You can start as a beginner driving shifter carts, or if you're fairly confident, go straight for the Indy cars and start your career as a pro, then again you could also just jump in somewhere in the middle, or just do all of them. Beating the career doesn't unlock anything new, it's merely your own pride you're shooting for. The multiplayer is pretty cool too, though I haven't gotten too far into it yet. All in all Project Cars is the most realistic driving game out on the PS4, so for me it was a no brainer.

Possibly the best driving game I've played

I've played a couple dozen different driving games - starting with the first Gran Tourismos and Need For Speeds, all the way through Forza and the latest F1 sims. This by far is my favorite driving game - the range of cars, tracks, atmospheric details, and the driving physics make it super enjoyable. And you're not locked into a slow plodding career progression - you can drive what you want, where you want it, almost immediately. Some of the menus have some legibility issues, and I've seen some bugs in results and timing, but nothing significant. I haven't tried the online mode, so can't comment on that. I will definitely be buying future editions of this game, and will continue to play this one frequently. Highly recommended.

Is this game seriously a console game? The visual options alone are astounding, and the gameplay just makes it better. Everything but the cars paint jobs can be customized, and the gameplay is spot on. The difficulty can be changed to suit your playing style and everything handles realistically. This is the best car sim I've ever played.

This is my first racing sim on a console. I usually play on PC with a Logitech wheel. It's been difficult getting used to a game pad, but I'm starting to get a feel for it. The key is to make use of the variable throttle trigger and break by taking it slow at first. Overtime, you'll develop the necessary feel to control the 800+ horses at the rear wheels! Project Cars on the PS4 is exactly the same as the PC version with it's multitudes of cars, tracks, and custom tuning. Graphics and sound are topnotch. Great game for racing sim enthusiasts.

This is by far the most realistic racing simulator they offer on the PS4 platform. Be ready to get a little frustrated because it's not an easy arcade-like game like the Need For Speed franchise. It's not fair to compare this game to any other driving game out there right now because it's in a genre of its own. If you're serious about cars and what they do on the track then this is the game for you. No music or frills during the gaming experience. There are no scantily clad racing girls waving flags or dramatic story lines. The only soundtrack you need is the sounds you'd hear if you were actually driving the vehicle yourself. If none of that bothers you and you still want an upgraded Gran Tourismo type game, this is it.

This has been an incredibly fun game to play. It can also be incredibly tough, but a racing sim it is. The career mode is a lot of fun. It'll probably get better once I finally get a wheel.

Until Gran Turismo comes out this is probably the best option. Less arcade than need for speed, more realistic than Forza... Graphics are good but buggy. Lots of clipping and driving through opponents rather than hitting them. Also almost every time I leave the pit row I drive through my pit lane guy haha. Also sometimes its feels/ looks like the car is more floating over the ground than driving on it. Another big point worth mentioning; if you don't really love German race cars- don't buy this game. Its mostly race versions of street cars with little representation beyond the big 3 Germans and UK brands. With all that said I do still enjoy the game for the time being, but it won't be a long term keeper.

first of all, I have to say this is a very detailed racing game. The graphics are excellent, the sound is great. this game is not easy to race, it is a racing sim that will challenge nearly everyone. through all the different settings and adjustments this game will fit anyone from beginner to pro.this is not a game that most people will just be able to pick up and play like a normal arcade racing game, it takes time and effort to be successful

Craving a great racing sim on my PS4, Project CARS is just what I wanted. A very demanding and technical racer with gorgeous graphics. All of the different camera angles means that you will always find a comfortable pick. There are not a lot of cars compared to Gran Turismo, but each car has its purpose and there is plenty of variety. Each class has a completely different feel, which makes progressing through career that much more satisfying Trophies are gonna take a long time to complete, but each trophy that unlocks seems like a great accomplishment

I like racing games of all types and this game is solid racer for the PS4. It has a ton of options and racing assists you can turn on and off. I don't remember seeing a reset to default so I took a picture of one of the settings screens so if I made it worse I could roll back. I spent a little while getting it to where I liked it. There is a nice variety of tracks and cars.

I'm a long time racer on Forza Motorsports. Project Cars was definitely worth the couple month's delay. If you want hardcore racing versus friends, go buy this game. The controls are touchy from launch, so you'll have to play around with that for a bit. Once you get it to your liking, you won't want to stop playing.Great graphics, car detail is amazing. Great replay value
