This has too many flaws and is very unpredictable. I wish I got my money back.

I believe many of the bad reviews are from no RC experience and not understanding this drone or RC for that matter. THIS DRONE IS NOT FOR A BEGINNER! If you have no RC experience then dont buy it unless you find someone that can help you learn to fly. Go buy a small mini drone and fly it until you understand the basics. This is a big powerful drone. It has 3 speeds but even at the low speed its very quick to respond to the controls. It has auto stabilizers but you still have to fly it. Its VERY hard if not impossible to fly and not crash without experience . The complaints of drifting quickly left or right is probably because it needs trimmed and you need to control it until the trim buttons are pushed. The battery is short lived at 7 Min. It will not go more than that. Use your phone as a timer because it will land wherever it is when the time is reached. I have seen complaints of motor failures but mine has been fine at about 3 weeks. As far as a fly away you need to adjust the altitude sensor before you take off. It will go completely off track without that being done. if you get out of control and your not to low from the ground it will override your control and try to save itself and not respond to you. If your low , well your going to crash. If you are high enough it will land on its own. Keep it close to you the range is limited. If you get out of range again it will do its own thing and that is land. When it wants by the way. Don't fly near trees, Buildings, Vehicles or people. Don't think this is just a toy. This drone can do property damage and even hurt someone. You need a large area free of anything till you learn how to control this or any drone. The video and camera are just ok. It does not seem very durable but I have crashed pretty hard and no damage yet. Bottom line . Its not worth 279 but I got it for 179 and thats a good price for the bang.

A great starter if purchased on sale for a low price. Good size yet heavy. Excellent photos/videos. .Easy to fly. Be warned there are many negative issues with this unit. (Buy JB Weld and Krazy glue) short flight time, batteries difficult to switch out (I bought 2 extras) ,prop guards are weak and tend to interfere with blades after 1 or 2 "hard landings" , the camera shoots silent videos, very weak camera mount (falls off at landing) , camera pivot control arm is very fragile ...easily broke on fast landings or average impacts thus making the camera useless (been through 2 cameras in 6 flights) , the chrome prop caps fell off and lost at 1st landing. For the price, I was satisfied to use this a learning tool to aid in the purchase of a more sophisticated drone. One tends to get exactly what one pays for...a toy.

Bought this for my boyfriend (he's 25) for his birthday and he absolutely loved it!! This was my first drone and I was a little nervous about how difficult this would be to charge and control. It was really easy to charge--didn't require a separate charger. The controls were sensitive but straight forward, I was able to fly it around pretty well after about 15 minutes of practice. I wanted to surprise him so I flew it into the room he was in and filmed his reaction. That in itself was priceless!!

This sorry excuse for a drone is garbage! I was very disappointed in its entirety. Let's start with the battery. You have to charge the drone battery for 200 minutes in order to get 7 minutes of actual flight time. That's with or without the camera on. The remote is flimsy. The trim buttons barely work and break easily. Had to return the first one as a result. I followed the directions and had a fly-away at only 4 feet. Drone just shot up in the air and flew away. Found it block down face down in some bushes. Thank god it didn't hurt anyone. For the price of the drone, you're better off saving up and getting something else. Protocol has very little feedback and information on this drone. You have been warned.

I have bought several drones from Protocol and am a fan. My experience with this one is really positive and I recommend it highly. A couple of points though. Usually I don't read the instructions anymore but I'm glad I did. Because there is an air pressure sensor, you must recalibrate it each flight. Push down on the little button to the right of the throttle stick. The store salesman said it resets the altitude sensor. Anyway, the drone flies great and is super powerful. Not for beginners but not hard to fly either with the sensor. It also comes with a discount coupon for space parts so I bought more spare batteries to fly between charging. They told me to let the engines rest 10 minutes after each flight to cool down. They will last longer. The position angle of the camera is controllable up and down from the remote while flying. That made my videos much better. The app for streaming the video is easy to use and with the altitude hold its easier to focus on getting good video. For the price this is a great step up before buying other higher priced models. You get a lot of cool features for the money.

Bought this drone for my roommate, since he loves drones. We unboxed it and got it flying. Flew fine for 5 minutes. Battery life is very poor though and takes 3 hours to charge. The second time we started flying it, after about 30 seconds, it just took off for no reason and hit a tree and the whole drone cracked in half. My roommate has been flying drones for years and he wasnt even pressing any controls when the drone flew away. Drone is broken within the first day of having it. I really hope that BestBuy will either refund me or replace the drone. Clearly something was not right with the item.

Totally disappointed. Drone flew for about 5 seconds total before killing itself. After calibrating the drone is supposed to launch and hover but it instead flew hard left and into a bush, I hit land and the engine stopped. Recalibrated and launched again, except this time it nosedived into the grass and burned out the motor on one of the rotors and was ruined and unusable. Don't waste your time.

This is a great drone and fun for the whole family. My older son took his little brother out with this and they got great pictures of the park from high above. My older son was able to show his little brother how to use this within minutes and they had grand time. Taken out many times with a group of kids all having a blast. Durable, not hard to use

This is the second drone I bought. Compared to the first one I bought from the Internet this drone is in quite a good shape. I love it's feature of controlling the camera angle from remote control. It also has good control in flight.

The instructions say it may "drift a bit", but that's a complete understatement. As soon as this things picks up off the ground it's hard to control. It doesn't stay put, but instead sways unpredictably in any direction, and YOU WILL CRASH IT trying to figure it out, and once you figure it out, YOU WILL STILL CRASH IT. Horrible piece of junk. I haven't even had it out of the box for an hour, and there's no way they're gonna refund me since it's scratched up after immediately crashing seconds after the first takeoff (without me even touching the throttle yet btw)

bought for my son for Christmas , used twice , on second attempt it took off was hovering, wasn't touching remote and it took off , went about 100 foot straight up flipped over and came down full speed hit one of my cars and broke in half

This thing is worthless. There are a few steps needed before you can get if off the ground, but then once it takes off, it is IMPOSSIBLE to calibrate. It just takes off in a direction (no telling what the front or back of the thing is, so there is no way to change any settings in flight). Then crashes into something and you get to try to do it all over again! I tried numerous times to get it to balance (I am an avid RC guy, so this was not new to me) and could NEVER get it to work. DON"T WASTE YOUR MONEY! Save up for a drone that has a GPS that calibrates itself.

got it for a christmas gift, over priced for very poor quality and deserves the poor rating. you can get a much better drone for allot less. 3 flights and one of the motors stopped working and of course it was out of wrnty. could replace the motor, but who says its quality is any better than original. FYI

Flimsy, Cheap material, the electronics are off calibration and dime store junk. You can build a better Quad from Radio shack parts really don't bye this junk like I did you will regret it.
