Fun, but not for long if you crash.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This helicopter was great until my son crashed it. Now I know that there is a risk with any RC toy if the user crashes it. I guess my review would be that it's a great toy, but not very durable for kids 12-13 years of age. It's a lot of money to spend on something that will not last for very long if the user is not flying it 'perfectly'.

Great entry level copter!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought a mall kiosk helicopter for the same price prior to getting this one. The mall one started to break the first minute of flight, starting with the plastic landing gear falling off. It had a body of plastic and constantly needed the trim (the knob for adjusting unwanted left or right spin/twirl of the helicopter) as the battery went down. Flying the helicopter was difficult to say the least. Before you could get the trim just right, it'd be out of battery. On to this copter!! This one has software called gyro technology that automatically does the trim for you. NO OTHER HELICOPTER I FOUND AT THIS PRICE POINT HAD THIS!!! At $30 on sale, it could have easily gone for double! Also, it has the usb charger and is made of metal so it's VERY durable. After a month, the only part that's broke on it so far is the small rear blade which they send you an extra of anyway. Buy this helicopter!

Wow
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing is amazing for a mini! it has full functioning controls and can go up, down, left, right, forward and back and has some cool LED's on the front. Way better than the Air hog which is hard to control, this one can be flown by almost anyone within a couple of minutes of practice. This is the best $40 I have spent in a while and It is also about as durable as they come and has taken some major hits from a fan and many other things and just keeps going. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone looking for some indoor fun.

Just excellent!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought a more expensive copter for my dad for Christmas, but decided to buy this one for myself to play around with. I have a small apartment, so I was looking for something small yet accurate. This copter rocks! It did take me a few times to get good at flying it, but now I can take off, fly around, go over and under things and then land right back on the take off spot. Charging takes awhile but you can plug it right into the controller, into a USB port, or use a USB wall charger. Flight time is about 6-7 minutes. I did have one small issue- after about the 10th crash it wouldn't fly any more, it would just bank to the right and crash. I bought the repair kit from Protocol for about $7, and took the copter apart. I turns out that a piece that connects to the gyro and top blades had broken, but I was able to fix it in under 15 minutes. And hey, fixing it added even more fun since I like to tinker! My suggestion? Buy two of these copters so you can have another charged and ready to go, and buy at least one repair kit from Protocol, and you have have a blast, I guarantee it!

Great Buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This copter is a great purchase, most copters you see are mostly made of plastic and foam, this one is built well with metal parts and screws and whatnot that make it durable. The best thing is that it truly is omni-directional! No joke, the controller makes the copter go forward, backward, rotate on its axis left, right and up and down! Very precised controls. The ONLY downside is that due to its small size, the battery/flight charge is only 8 monutes or so. But you can plug the copter to the controller to charge and be flying again with the hour!

Tough Helicopter that's tons of fun
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been wanting to purchase a remote control helicopter for a while now but was afraid to because they seem to break easily. One day I spotted the Tigerjet helicopter at Best Buy and figured I'd buy it and hope for the best. Be sure to have some batteries available. The Tigerjet takes a lot of batteries (six AA) and they are not included. Once the batteries are installed you hook the 'copter to the remote control with a little wire that is hidden in a slot. It charges for about an hour. The charging light starts out red, and as the helicopter becomes fully charged the light will gradually turn yellow and finally green. Once it is green you are ready to fly! My first time flying was a disaster. I can't say how many times I crashed the helicopter. I'd recommend practicing in an area that doesn't have a lot of hard surfaces until you get the hang of the controls. Despite the many crashes, this helicopter is still going with all pieces intact! The downside is it only flies for about eight minutes (I haven't timed it yet but will do so soon). You'll know when it needs charging again when the helicopter stops going up and slowly begins to descend down. Great helicopter that's a lot of fun to play with and it's very durable.

Great chopper; Poor charging system
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The helicopter flew great out of the box, and I'm a beginner. It was also very durable for the one night I was able to fly it. Charging time was about 40 minutes, with about 3 minutes flying time. I would have rated the Protocol Tigerjet a 5, EXCEPT: the charging system (both USB and from the transmitter) have a cheap connecter system, which is flimsy. The connection would be lost if I even sneezed. By the next day after I bought it, the helicopter batter would not charge at all. What good is a great helicopter, if you can't charge it? I took it back to the big-box store where it was purchased, and bought a E-Flite Blade mCX2 RTF. This helicopter is also easy to fly, durable, and has a detachable battery and a DC charging system. The connector from battery to helicopter and charging system is of much better quality. Flying time is about 7 minutes, and battery charge time is only about 20 minutes. I'm having so much fun with this helicopter that I just bought spare batteries so I can enjoy non-stop action!

Can't be beat for the $$
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing is super easy to fly... if you know your left from your right - you should be good. I can't imagine what the problem is with the people who are saying it's difficult to fly... it's not. The control has a spring loaded throttle... and it is not overly sensitive. I was flying it around without issue within a minute or so. I hit it against a 10 foot ceiling and crashed it. No issues... flew without a problem after. Crashed it about 3 times since - no problem. Remembering that this is a BEGINNER RC - it goes forward/back/left/right/up/down... pretty hard to screw that up when flying. It doesn't have the advanced controls and is not meant to fly outside or in any breeze (and it's not like they hide those facts#. The only thing that you need to keep in mind is - because the unit is so small and light-weight the battery lasts about 8 minutes #in the helicopter itself). So - you need to recharge it frequently and it takes between 35 and 50 minutes to charge. I've only used it about 5 times so far and I'm already wanting something I can fly outside. This is a great indoor beginner copter though and has the best ratings of any I've seen that are comparable for the same $$.

Awesome!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is by far the best "rc" heli I have ever had. I know that it is controlled by Infra red. It handles perfectly. As with anything you have to get used to the controls but it is better than any indoor heli I have had. The 3D technology is off the chain and I never say "off the chain". The battery doesn't last so long, 7 min, but that is to be expected with any battery powered device. If you have had bad luck with small indoor heli's before, this will change your mind. Awesome!

How can they make this for 30 bucks?
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Initially didnt expect much, then read reviews and figured I would try it. Cant believe how cool it is, think I have more fun then the kids. As a former helicopter pilot myself, its pretty cool to get a toy for less then 30 bucks that really flies around the house. Even has some flashing lights when operating, seems pretty sturdy. Its a legit toy, even if it was more. If I crash it, I will buy another, its that fun. I have bought remote controlled cars/trucks for kids that are junk for this money...not sure how they can make something that you can fly and control for this cost, its a great toy.

Great Helecoptor, better than any Air Hog !!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got my kids a couple of air hogs for Xmas and what an incredible waist of money. They never worked right and had to be taken back. I saw this copter at Best Buy and was VERY apprehensive after being burned by the Air Hogs. I then looked it up on the Best Buy site and saw all of the positive reviews. I have to say they were NOT wrong. This is a great Helecoptor, it is easy to fly and fun to play with. Out of the box I was hesitant and just expected it to spin and crash or.something. I could not have been more wrong, it started up and flew around the house with no problem. Very sturdy toy, handles the crashes well, fun to fly. Such a better product than air hog and cheaper !!! If you are looking for a fun toy to fly for your kids or yourself the reviews are not wrong, give this one a try. You won't be disappointed.

Awsome Toy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing is pretty cool, im 27 but still love gadgets. I've always wanted a remote control heli or plane or anything that flys really. Sorry don't usually write reviews, but I see people complain that this things breaks easly, SO FAR I have had no issues. Ran it into ceiling a few times, walls, and other furniture, and still runs great, so I believe it can take a little beating but at $29.99 what the hell huh. I just bought a few more, as gifts and as back ups, this thing is to cool to pass up and for the price, can't beat it. Amazon has it for 90$ lol

Best RC Helicopter for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this helicopter after returning the Protocol Skyline helicopter. The Tigerjet is exactly what I was looking for. It's super easy to control and very stable. It hovers with easy and doesn't move at all unless you direct it to. I've tried other inexpensive helicopters and they bob and weave all over the place while trying to hover. Not the TigerJet. I can land this thing on a dime. My kids and grandkids love to play with it.

Amazing indoor RC helicopter
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I previously purchased an inexpensive copter from an online site. Long story short, the copter was complete junk- never flew right and broke after 2 days. I saw the Protocol Tiger Jet on sale and thought it would make sense to purchase from Best Buy since I could at least return if it if I had the same problems. To say I am pleasantly surprised is an understatement. Just taking the copter out of the box, I could see the difference in the quality of the build of both the copter and controller. The copter has a metal frame. It had power and responded to the controller with accuracy right out of the box. It is so easy to operate even for a semi-uncoordinated novice that after using for a few minutes, I was able to gently land the copter on my hand! One other HUGE bonus which I can't believe the manufacturer doesn't play up is that a USB cord is included for charging in addition to charging from the controller which means that you can save a small fortune in AA batteries compared to other copters in this price range. It is also perfect for indoor use- ran into the walls a few times without scratches. If you have any interest in a low cost RC copter that is full featured and responsive, this is the one to get!

Perfect for children of all ages
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this one just because i always wanted a toy helicopter and could not believe how cheap it was. This thing is perfect for flying inside and has withstood me running it into every piece of furniture in my home. Even safe, just ran it into my LCD screen and it didn't leave a scratch.
