I am very happy with this filter for the cost and the amount of use I get from it. I am a renter and the fridge was purchased used by my landlord, so I don't know if the flavor of the water is the filter or if it's the fridge. It's hard to explain, but my husband describes the water as being heavier and lightly, very, very lightly, swampy tasting. But that sounds worse than it is and is much more noticeable when we drink it right after having the other purified water we buy. We refill gallon jugs for 25 cents each, which we use for coffee and he uses as his drinking water. I drink the water from this filter and also use it in cooking, and we give both to our dog, this filtered water when we're not sure if he'll finish the water we put in his bowl. Overall, I am quite satisfied.

This water filter is a great buy - lasts for six months and produces great tasting water (even with the hard water in my city). Definitely love this product.

These filters seem to last more than the recommended six month although that could be because there are just two of us in this house. The refrigerator has indicator lights so I know when to replace the filter. If not replaced immediately, we still can use the water from the dispenser but it has an "off" taste. When the filter is replaced it only take two regular glasses of water to notice the change in taste, probably related to whatever unfiltered water is left in the water line.

This filter does a great job of improving the taste of the ice and water. I only drink water from the filter now.
