How Do You Spell Relief? M-I-S-T-A-I-R-E X-L!

I live in Southern California on the coast and while most days are nice and the humidity is great because of the ocean, there are days like we had and are having this week when the Santa Anna winds blow and the humidity drops to the teens, if not single digits. If you have never experienced single digit humidity, it can be quite hard on your eyes and skin. Being in the 20's is great during the hot summer days but lower than that can really stink!
We are entering the season of Santa Annas and so I got both the Pure Enrichment Mistier XL and a combo thermometer/hygrometer. I've put both to the test over the last couple of days and it has been a lifesaver! I've attached a picture of the hygrometer showing what I was dealing with in my office. It went down to 23% humidity, which is pretty darn dry. Using the Mistaire XL for about 6 hours both yesterday day and today, got the humidity back up to a high of 66% and an 'ambient' humidity of 51% when I took the picture (which as you can see from the smiley face is considered a good humidity).
Using the single nozzle on full added about 10% humidity per hour to my office. Unfortunately, it is so dry that it loses that humidity far faster than it is gained. I ran out of distilled water (don't have to use distilled but I prefer it), so the humidity will be dropping again until I can get out an buy some more water.
So what do I like so much about the Pure Enrichment Mistaire XL? Let me count the ways:
1. It's Quiet: Other than a light burbling and fan noise this thing is absolutely quiet. I think it would actually make a nice 'white noise' for sleeping.
2. Easy to Use: It doesn't get much simpler than to fill the reservoir, place it on the machine, plug it in and turn it on. All that is left is to decide if you want a dual spray of mist (better for large rooms) or just a single, and how much mist you want. As I stated above, having a single nozzle on 100% did a really good job of raising the humidity rather quickly. The dual nozzle doesn't increase the output it just does a better job of dispersing the humidity around a larger room. Since I have this next to the wall, I wanted just a single jet facing the center of the room. If you have a large bedroom or other room where this might be, I would recommend you place it in the center of the room and use the dual nozzles.
3. It's Light: When not filled with water this thing is super light. My wife and I take weekend trips all over the state, many times to the low desert regions for hiking and such and it is almost always super dry there (hence the desert part). This is now going to be packed in the back of the car now for our hotel room.
Nightlight: This is neither good nor bad from my point of view but if you are going to have a night light feature, it would probably be best to have it just be a white light. I'll never use it so it's not a big deal but the red, green, and blue are kinda useless. I suppose the red light would be ok so it doesn't blow out your night vision.
There is very little not to like about the Mistaire XL but I do have two little quibbles with it:
1. Needs a Handle or Flat Top: When filling the reservoir from a jug of distilled water and not a faucet, it can be a little awkward to do it on your own. If the reservoir had a flat top so it could rest on a counter or a handle to keep a firm grip, it would be easier.
2. No Cleaning Brush: The box says there is a cleaning brush included but I went through the thing twice and there was no brush in there. I'm not super concerned about it because I have plenty of cleaning tools, but still.
Conclusion: If you need a humidifier for your bedroom or home office, you really can't go wrong with the Mistaire XL. It gives you a great 1 gallon reserve of water, quiet operation, and it does it's job very well. For the price, it is a great option.

I would say that this ultrasonic humidifier checks all the necessary boxes, especially for large rooms. First, it’s very quiet being that it is an ultrasonic humidifier. It has a 1 gallon tank, and the mist volume can be controlled with the twist of the knob. Pure Enrichment claims up to 500 square feet, which is quite large of a room. It also has a mood light (red, green or blue) that you can turn on, or you can keep it off if you prefer. When the water runs out, the unit will automatically shut off.
One nicety that I discovered is that you can remove the white plastic fairing at the top so that you can flip the reservoir over to easily fill it. No more one handed-balancing while using the other hand to pour in water. It’s recommended you use distilled water rather than off the tap.
I have no complaints, and it has helped my kids sleep through the night during this time of year.

Cool mist with no noise

As I turn the heat on for the winter, I was very glad to find this cool-mist humidifier to help with the dry air that goes along with the heating.
It is absolutely silent- If I didn't see the mist come out (as soon as you turn it on), I would not have realized it was running!
I like the directional nozzle so I can decide which way the mist goes. It comes with a second nozzle that can aim mist in 2 directions at once.
The water seems to last a long time. I ran it for several hours and the level only dropped an inch or so (pictures).
There is a nice blue light that emits from the unit even if the mist is off. This would be a great night light if using this in a child's room.
I am looking forward to a winter without the dry skin and dry nose.

I've been using my Pure Enrichment MistAire XL for a little over a week now and absolutely love it. I immediately noticed the difference in my skin - it's not dry and itchy as it normally gets in the winter time!
My old humidifier was bulky and I had to refill the water tank from the bathtub faucet because of its wonky shape but not my new humidifier! Its round shape fits nicely inside a standard-size bathroom sink and it's really easy to refill the tank. I agree with another reviewer - it'd been nice to have a handle, so you have a better gripping for carrying it after it's filled to the top. Since it can hold up to one gallon of water, it may be a challenge to carry it for some people.
This humidifier starts misting as soon as you turn it on, so you don't have to wait, which is nice. I keep the mist level at the lowest, so I only had to refill the tank just once since I started using it about a week ago and running it every night (my old humidifier had to be refilled after each use).
I like to sleep in the dark, so am not using its optional night light but it's kind of fun to turn it on and try out different colors (the red is a bit wimpy). The night light button also functions as the water level indicator, so when the water level is low, the button illuminates in red to alert you and also automatically shuts it off when the tank is empty.
I really like Pure Enrichment MistAire XL - it's quiet and can mist for hours (days). I'm so glad I got this humidifier just in time for the start of a long, cold and dry winter!

Great little humidifier

This little guy works great. This is a must have as winter is right around the corner. I have had this Pure Enrichment cool mist humidifier for about 1 week and I love it. Not only do I love it, but my kids are even fighting as to who gets to use it next. As many of you know, the air gets really dry in the winter time in most parts of the US, so having this little guy in your room really eliminates this problem. First of, I really like how this takes up very little space. One of my few complaints is that I wish they had made the cord a little longer to allow more flexibility when you are deciding to place it in your room. Speaking of room, my bedroom is about 600 sq. ft and it worked really nice for my wife and I. I wouldn't recommend it for rooms larger than that. Even though this Pure humidifier is small, it produces quite a bit of cool mist. You can exchange the nozzles, to produce either one or two streams of mist. The mist is really fine and it won't dampen the area around where you place it. You can control the amount of mist it produces. If you place it on high, the water will last you around 10 hours and on low it will last close to 24 hours. Another plus to this Pure humidifier is the night light option. You can change colors on the night light from blue (my favorite) to green to red. One last plus that I noticed about this humidifier that I really like is how quiet it is. Overall, I am extremely happy with this Pure Enrichment cool mist humidifier. Winter is coming, so get yours soon!

Great for Winter

As anyone in the Midwest knows, when winter rears its ugly head, the air gets DRY. Hands and lips get chapped and crack. Nosebleeds happen more readily. It can become downright painful, especially for those who have eczema or other skin conditions. Having a humidifier is a must. I’m partial to ultrasonic humidifiers simply because they’re fun to look at. The MistAire XL has done an excellent job of keeping both my partner and myself comfortable since we started using it. The 1 gallon capacity allows you to run it all night on the highest mist setting. I really like that it can be used as a blue, red, or green nightlight. However, the light can be turned off if you don’t want to use this feature. The motor is ultra quiet and it will turn off if the water level gets too low. Refilling the water tank is easy to do. I believe distilled water is recommended, but tap water can also be used. You’ll just get some mineral buildup over time. The only thing that I found odd about this unit is that the box states a cleaning brush is included, but is not. Not a huge deal as you can use other small brushes or a toothbrush to clean out the small spaces of the water basin. Just one of those things that if it wasn’t meant to be included, remove it from the packaging. Overall, if you’re looking for an effective, long lasting ultrasonic humidifier for winter or whenever, the MistAire XL is a great choice.

Does the Job Quite Well

This 1 gallon cool mist humidifier really does a good job of adding water vapor to dry air. I put it in our bedroom which is 150 sq ft and this unit performs very well each night. Before I struggled with dry air at this time of the year and this ultrasonic humidifier is making a difference. The 1 gallon reservoir is plenty big enough. It can last nearly a full day on low but about 8-10 hours on higher speeds. This cool air ultrasonic humidifier has 2 mist nozzles for your preference. A single dial allows you to set an operating speed to your preference. The unit comes with a night light option that you can bypass or use as you see fit with 3 different color options. My wife and I like the blue night light. The unit also comes with a cleaning brush for the cleaning of the humidifier which is a must. It has a new age look. Reminds me of a tear drop. It is very quiet and very well made. We truly expect to get several years of use from it.

I have a big problem in the Winter when the furnace dries out the air in our house, as the dry air causes not only static shocks when you touch things, but I get an increase in nose bleeds and even the areas around my hands and lips cracking and even bleeding if it’s super dry. Some time ago I figured out that by adding humidifiers to the house, it minimizes or eliminates these issues. The Pure Enrichment Mistaire Ultrasonic humidifier is a good pick to add to your home or apartment.
Pure Enrichment sells different models of humidifiers. This one (the “XL”) holds one gallon of water, and is one of their larger models in size, making it good for bedrooms or offices, or even a main living area provided you have more than one in your house, up to 500 square feet when on full. You fill it with water and depending on the setting, you can get from 10 hours (high) to 24 hours (low) of use per fill. Some people ONLY use distilled water in these due to what they may put out in the air, but I’ve used humidifiers for some time and like many, can’t afford to buy distilled water constantly to do this, so I use filtered fridge water to refill mine and so far it seems to work fine that way.
The water tank is translucent with mine having a blue tint to it, so you can see the water level. Just lift the top off, unscrew the bottom cap, fill, put cap back on, and turn it on. Simple, but take care as with no flat surface it can be a little hard to hold when filling up. Mist will flow out of the top, and you have a choice of it coming out of a single opening, or two at different angles with the two provided caps. A small nightlight is available as an option if using it at night, and you can choose from blue, red, or green as the color of light, and it can be used independently, so you don’t have to have the humidifier running for the light’s use. A small brush is in a holding area inside the body to help clean it every so often. Of note, this only puts out cool mist, it does not heat up the water so it’s not a vaporizer.
I found it to be reasonably quiet – I have “dog ears” and can hear minute noises, so I do pick up a very slight running noise from it when it's on the highest setting, but not enough to disturb me. Leaving it on around a more medium setting, I get around 18 hours of use before the next fill-up. It does make a difference in the room, but again, one unit is not going to hydrate the air in your entire house – depending on the size of your place, you may need several units to make a huge difference if you need to do so throughout your home. Interior air with good humidity levels also cuts down on static, and helps reduce how far germs can travel through the air if someone coughs in the room too, as they travel further in drier air than humidified air.
My ONE suggestion to the maker to consider: How about, instead of a normal night light in it, you put a small UV-C bulb in them, so that the UV-C light could help sterilize the water that’s inside? Hmmmm. Other than wanting that, I’d definitely recommend this unit.

Overall, the device works as expected. Zero issues setting up (read the instructions). Refilling is a breeze, and I get a good 2 days of continued use at 50% power (mileage will vary depending on how high or low you set it). One unexpected benefit is that I have noticed I sleep better with this on, which is really cool. 100% recommend this Humidifier.

Mystifying

To assist with keeping nasal passages clear at night, I tried a couple of humidifier brands without success. The third purchase was a Pure humidifier (different model). It has been in use for several months, and I really like it. Deciding to get a larger one for the Master and move the smaller into another room, I looked only at Pure. Opting for the larger Mistaire XL was an excellent choice.
The XL has large capacity, holding up to one gallon of water. This is great, because it reduces the trips to a faucet for a refill. A full tank is projected to provide up to 24 hours of continuous use. Of course, achieving that depends upon which level of steam you select. My preference is running it at “Max” level overnight, and there is still plenty of water left for another run. Also, there is no problem if you forget and let it run out of water, the humidifier will automatically turn off. That’s a great fire safety feature.
No matter the time of day or night, you can run the XL without disturbance. It is as quiet as the proverbial mouse. Another feature I like about the XL is it comes with two mist nozzles. One is the usual one opening nozzle that you can turn in any direction to direct the mist. The other has two openings, which directs the mist simultaneously in two directions.
If you wish to add a bit of ambiance to the room, you can turn on a night light that provides a choice among three soft color options (blue, green, and red).
Should you have a problem with your XL, it comes with a generous 5-year warranty.
As with any humidifier, it is going to need occasional cleaning. There are helpful instructions in the box, and there is a cleaning brush that is located on top of the base and visible when the tank is removed for filling or cleaning. I use a bottle brush. There are diffuser cleaner capsules that can be purchased that will be helpful to reduce minerals in the water. This is especially useful in areas with hard water. Should you experience mildew or something similar in the tank, undiluted white vinegar can be helpful with cleaning. Like most things, good maintenance will help it keep going longer.
If you want quiet mist and lots of it, the Mistaire XL is an excellent choice.

Best mid range humidifier for the price we pay

Pros:
1. Great value - Wide variety of features for the Mid range Humidifier.
2. Large 1 Gallon tank which is usually found on Humidifiers that are priced higher allows it to manage rooms upto 500 sq ft in size and between 10 to 24 hours of continous operation.
3. Option to control the mist output via the variable mist control system and also the ability to choose between single nozzle (when placed near the corners of the wall) or dual nozzle (when placed in an open space) output.
4. Colorful night light options - Choice of Blue or Red or Green.
5. Auto shut-off feature - When the water level is low or when the tank is removed.
6. Silent operation - No sound whatsover that guarantees peaceful sleep.
7. 5 years of warranty.
Cons:
1. You get what you pay for. Don't expect for high end features like humidistat which monitros that humidity in the room or compare this with the high end humidifiers which might have.
2. Timer - It would have been nice if there was a timer.
Since I got this product recently, i am not sure of the cleaning part. But if we follow the instructions, clean the humidifier periodically then I believe the maintenance will be lower. If not one might end of spending more time cleaning the hard water residue which is more painful than cleaning it periodically. Overall Pure Enrichment MistAire XL is a very good product especially for the price that we pay.

This is packaged well and easy to use right out of the box - after adding water!
We are using this in the bedrooms because our heat is forced air and really dry. This works well and my husband seems to feel better when he wakes up. There are lights you can use like night lights but we prefer a darker room so haven't used them. The cord is just over 5 ft long so good for placement. The instructions say not to use it on or near wood furniture as it can cause damage to the wood. Also, not to sit the unit on a towel or anything absorbent! The unit can spray a good amount of moisture when using the double nozzle so I placed a cloth placemat under the unit on a stable wooden TV tray - it works fine this way. The unit is very quiet when running and has an auto shutoff in case it runs out of water. It would be great if this humidifier had a timer.
Filling the unit is a little awkward to fill unless you hold it like a baby and pour water into it - not a huge issue. It recommends distilled water if you have hard water but they also give some instructions to remove scaling with vinegar if you need to. The base unit has a little cleaning brush in it to use to clean the transducer if/when it shows build up. I use a bottle cleaner to clean the tank area.
First time owning a Pure enrichment humidifier and I would recommend it for smaller areas.

This thing just about arrived in time, when we are closing off our windows and turning on the furnace, which makes the air inside the house very dry, leading to skin irritations. This XL model holds a gallon of water which can last almost a full day on the low setting. Initially when we got this we used it on the medium setting, but found that if we are going to keep it on throughout the day just the low setting is good enough.
I do wish there was an easy carry handle on this and that there was some kind of base to it when trying to fill up water, else its pretty awkward.
We have not used the nigh light feature on this, but you do get an option of red, blue or green lights. But we do keep it on throughout the night and its fans do not disturb at all. Especially, as I mentioned we just keep it on the low setting. On the High setting there is a light hum, but that's about it, I don't think anyone would find that disturbing. Since, we have it in the corner of the room, like I guess most people would just the single nozzle is good enough, but it does have the double nozzle option if you need it.
Overall there is not much bad to say about this. It does what it supposed to and that's all I can ask from it.

A Breath of Fresh Air

I almost always wake up with a very dry mouth. I rarely open a window when I sleep so it gets very stuffy in my bedroom. A long time ago, I bought a humidifier at a garage sale for $2 and you know what they say, "You get what you pay for!" although it worked, it sprayed too much water in the air and got everything wet. I stopped using it after a day or two because it never shut off when it ran out of water and I saw it smoking so I got rid of it. For years I didn't have one but recently I thought I should get one.
This Pure Enrichment - MistAire XL Ultrasonic seems to work great. It sprays a very fine mist into the air so the water evaporates before it hits the floor. This humidifier holds a gallon of water which will last all night and run for up to 15 hours and can be adjusted from a very small mist to a large stream of water vapor. If the water vapor isn't enough for you, the MistAire XL comes with a second nozzle that has 2 holes on it so you get a dual-stream coming out the top.
There is a night light at the bottom of the tank that you can change the color to suit your needs, from blue to green to red or you can shut the light completely if it bothers you. The unit comes with a little brush hidden under the water tank to use for cleaning the transducer for when it gets a particle buildup from debris in the water.
So far I've been waking up without the dryness in my mouth so I feel much better. My one complaint is that the water tank is a little awkward to hold when filling it under the bathroom sink faucet. Even though there is a stopper that screws securely onto the tank, when you flip it over to put it onto the base a little water drips out, that's why you should put it on a tray and not your furniture or carpet. Outside of that, the Pure Enrichment - MistAire XL Ultrasonic is a breath of fresh air.

No heat. Just pure cool mist goodness

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
I'm loving the Pure Enrichment MistAire XL. My previous unit uses heat to generate steam, essentially. This of course presents a touching-hazard for myself and my kid since it is...well..hot. Not to menion that you have to clean off the scale buildup on the heating element due to the minerals in the water. No such problems with an ultrasonic humidifier. There's no scale and the mist is nice and cool. This unit holds a LOT of water. 1 gallon is a lot. At full blast this probably runs for a full day before needing a re-fill. It is very nice that the strength adjustment is dynamic via a dial as opposed to static levels - hi/med/low. If I put it on the lowest setting it'll run for over a day without needing a refill.
The only big complaint is the LED. It is a bit bright at night. Yes, the night light function is very nice, but this is separate from the night light. It is just the power LED. Blue LED's are just too bright. My wife has to cover it up for our kid so she can actually sleep.
The unit comes with two tops, one with two holes the other with 1 hole. I have yet to use the two holes. I guess the two holes is such that it sprays in multi-directions as opposed to just one? All good.
Build construction is completely plastic. What can ya say. You aren't going to get a metallic humidifier...heh. It's built well. It shouldn't break unless you drop it from a high counter. What is nice with the construction is that the mister won't operate unless the bucket is installed - the weight of the bucket pushes down on a lever to turn on the mist. If you have never had an ultrasonic mister before, think of it like a water found that is on steroids. The top of these units are designed to keep the water from splashing everywhere and directing the mist towards a certain exit hole. Heat-based humidifiers will never have this problem since it is just about heating up water. Again, because of the design you will never have to worry about a watery mess because the mist shuts off once you lift the water bucket.
Highly recommended.

No Dry Air In The Winter
|

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
Since I have electric heating, the air around my house in the winter is very dry. I get the usual problems with itchy dry skin, dry cracked lips and shocks from static electricity.
The humidifier is very quiet for a cool mist. I don’t like the idea of a heating element being plugged in and really like the cool mist better for this reason. Warm mist humidifiers also give more moisture and can put water/mist on your furniture which makes a cool mist humidifier like this a plus.
A really nice feature is the automatic shut off it has. If your water level gets too low in the water container, it will automatically shut off.
This is very simple to use. Fill the tank with water and turn it on. The higher you turn the dial the more mist, the lower you turn it you get less mist. This humidifier has a large one gallon tank, which is wonderful because you don’t have to fill it as often. This unit can take care of up to 500 sq feet. It takes care of my open living room/kitchen area seemingly with no problems.
This humidifier comes with two different nozzles for single or dual mist flow. The single nozzle is for having the mist go into a certain direction, such as over your bed at night. The dual nozzle is for a higher mist flow, which is good in a place like a living room.
A nice little feature is the night light that glows in three different colors, red, blue or green. This could be nice in a large bedroom or do as I do and use it as a night light going into my kitchen at night. All in all, I really like this humidifier and highly recommend it. Your sinuses will thank you.

Fantastic "basic" humidifier
|

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
I gone through a lot of humidifiers in the last ten years and this is one of the better ones I've had. It's fairly plain in features, but it does the basics very well. The big water reservoir lasts a long time ( it will go for days on low output, and even above 50% on the dial lasts 24 hours ) and like most ultrasonic humidifiers, it's very quiet, even running it at night in the same room. It is a 1 gallon tank, so you won't be able to use your bathroom sink ( but would you expect to fill a gallon jug there either? ). Most kitchen sinks, bathtubs, or even shower heads will serve just fine. when the tank runs out, the humidifier will automatically turn off and the status light will turn red.
The MistAire's internal design seems different to me compared to other similar humidifiers, and that's a good thing. It seems to use a smarter layout under the main reservoir around the ultrasonic transducer to keep as little water there as necessary. This keeps the stored cleaning brush dry and clean and minimizes spills if it's accidentally knocked over.
Unlike other humidifiers I've used, it has a nightlight ( an LED that illuminates the reservoir either red, green, or blue ). The light isn't adjustable for brightness, but it's pretty unintrusive. The touchpad to activate the nightlight is also where the main status light is, so it's easy to find in the dark. The downside is the status light can't be turned off, so it's always giving off at least a little light at night.
The MistAire also doesn't have a humidistat or timer, but that's no something I would expect in this price range.
I have no problem recommending the MistAire XL, but depending on sales or clearance items, there's a lot of other good humidifiers at a similar price too.
