Prince was a genius. The movie's plot while a bit campy is a still a great feel-good movie about following the Kid's dreams of being a professional musician. Great movie to introduce new people to Prince's music too.

If your a fan of music, you have to see this. Prince is an artist like no other. This movie was loosly based on his story and a fascinating one at that.

It's Prince it's Purple Rain for gods sake, buy it if you already love it and don't have it, and if you have never seen it its time. he will be missed..

Prince was an extraordinarily gifted performer and Purple Rain brought his talent to the wider audience he so richly deserved. The movie is just so-so but the music is phenomenal - definitely one of the best soundtracks of all time. A worthy addition to any blu-ray collection.
