Not only is Purple Rain a great song, but I was pleasantly surprised to find the movie to be well done...Good cinematography, surprisingly good acting and I am glad that I own a movie that one day will bring back memories of an especially nice time in history...

If you are a Prince fan, you must own this, it reminds you how very talented this guy was. From playing many instruments to singing and dancing.

If you love Prince then this is the movie for you! It does have its seriously cheesey moments but a good story and of course wonderful music!

Purple rain is a great film with amazing songs and fabulous performances from all of its actors. This blu ray is definitely worth picking up.

This is a good movie about Prince's life. The blu ray is crystal clear and I love the bonus videos.

I am from Minneapolis originally and wasn't really a fan of Prince, but my wife was. I'd never seen this movie before and I have to admit that I admire Prince's versatility on the instruments he played, and his guitarwork was outstanding. My wife was very pleased I gave this to her though we were both shocked to hear of his passing. I'm sure she would give this film at least four stars if not five. I didn't rate it that high because it was a bit predictable and slower paced than movies out more recently. And a warning to parents of younger children, there is a scene with nudity. I didn't expect a movie from that era to have nudity, but luckily my son wasn't very interested in the movie and was busy on his laptop, so he missed it.

This classic film by the late artist is worth owning and adding to the household media server. Academy awarded no but entertaining no less.

Purple rain is a classic and this version on bluray is the best it has ever looked. The bluray transfer looks great and the extras are great.

This was a great movie regardless. Prince won an Oscar for music for this movie. Watch it and you'll see why he deserves every ounce of gold.

One of my favorite movies of all time. I got it on dvd, but I just had to pick up the blu ray. Prince was awesome in his on screen debut!

I remember this movie as a teenager, and boy does it bring back the memories. This Blu-ray transfer looks pretty good for a dated movie, such at this 80`s classic. But if you are a Prince fan, THIS is a MUST!!! Take a whirl back in time, and LETS GO CRAZY!
