Was very happy to get this to replace dad's Sony unit that got "fried" with a lightning strike. The first one I got had a motor malfunction but the service center at Pyle was quick and responsive and the awesome folks at Best Buy were quick to replace it with a fully functional unit that enables my mom to listen to dad's old barbershop quartet tapes. Now I need to work on turning them into cd's so we can listen to them in the car.

The instructions don't include information about transferring music from cassettes to a computer. To learn how, I had to go to the Pyle website and hunt around to learn that certain software must be downloaded, installed, and then navigated. I did all that and got several tapes converted before the A deck failed. Only the B deck functions now. Also, when I emailed Pyle about how to digitize music, they did not call me back. Will return and try another gizmo.

Both cassette doors fit poorly. I was able to get the left side to play tapes if I carefully positioned the tape and closed the door very slowly. I could never get the right side to work properly, and that's the only side that records. If the tape did move at all, the sound was garbled and the tape damaged. To press the buttons you have to hold the deck with one hand, since the deck is not heavy enough to stay in place given the surprising amount of force needed to press the buttons. I returned this after a few days. Best Buy shouldn't sell junk like this.

Nearly impossible to find a cassette deck these days. After my old machine of 30+ years quit working, I found this one. It has good sound, but I am really disappointed in it's performance. It plays one side of the tape and shuts off. My old machine had auto reverse (played both sides) and then continued to play the second tape in the dual side. Don't like having to continually change the tapes.

Disappointed that the tape player will not auto-reverse at the end of playing one side in order to play the other side. Other than that, it works fine. However the instructions supplied with the player could be improved.

This product saved my tape collection from being destroyed. Digitally transferred everything to my PC, where I modified them and added to my iTunes collection. Even though it's a dual tape player for duplication, but the main concern is the digitization. Make sure you use the volume control on the back to normalize the sound that is being transferred to PC to eliminate the distortion.

Bought this to transfer some old cassettes to digital. Does the job as expected. My only comments would be I wish it had a high speed output to PC (it does have a high speed tape to tape dub). Only other thing is the door is a little flimsy so be gentle with it!

We’ve got some old tapes that we’d enjoy listening to if available digitally so I purchased this cassette player to to that. It connects easily via a USB cable but has the RCA connectors if you’d like to go “old school”. The power of this player is a free download software called Audacity for recording what’s played on the cassette to the computer. iTunes completes the process to make the tape available as a CD. There are YouTube videos showing how to do this. Happy we got this.

I am using this deck to convert several cassette tapes to digital format for transfer to CDs. The USB output creates .mp3 files which I then convert to CD format with another program. Have achieved excellent results with a minimum of set-up time.

This is a very god cassette player, sound is very good and it was easy to hook up. I would recommend this player.

I'm so excited. This is just what I needed to preserve the collection of cassette tapes I have. Works Great!!

I bought this for my daughter for Christmas. There for I can't rate it yet.I am sure it will be fine.

This was okay but too much had to be bought to make it work, i.e. cables and speakers.

This cassette player performs as well as can be expected for the price.

Great deal that plays and converts tapes. Easy to set up and use.

Do not expect any help from company in terms of tech support. Amatuer at best. Hook it up. Sync with Audacity and it works. You use Audacity more but this does the job.

Everything it says it does. If you have old cassette tapes or old recordings, a great way to preserve them.

The machine makes clicks and other noises that are recorded on the tapes and can be heard on playback. That made the copies useless. I returned the machine.

Very light, sounds pretty good. I haven't used it to convert to files. One side of the deck doesn't stops the cassette during play back from time to time. the other side, with record, plays fine. With so little options these days, this is pretty good for the $!
