I rank Quantum of Solace as third best of the Daniel Craig Bond films, but all the films are great, so I wound up getting all 3 steelbooks. These are awesome, and I was able to ad all 3 to my Digital Library with the UltraViolet Codes too that were included. This is a great value and I love the artwork on these Exclusive Best Buy Steelbooks!! A great gift for any Bond fan! ~PopCulter
I hope they do something similar for SPECTRE when it comes out.

Very unique design for the steelbook that looks great. Not a huge fan of the glossy look and came with a large scratch but still worth the cost

10th Anniversary of an Underrated Bond Film

Quantum is so different from Casino Royale that fans didn't know what to make of it. It's a faster, tougher, grittier Bond film and about 30 minutes shorter than Casino. In some ways it's an extension of Casino as it picks up right after that movie but it definitely has it's own style and sense of purpose. In many ways this is a darker more emotional Bond film in that it deals with love and loss and revenge. Bond is drunk with rage and heartache and uses that pain to go after the bad guys. It's a brave film in that it didn't want to give fans more of the same and is worth the price of admission for just the first 20 minutes where you see an edge of your seat car chase and then a foot chase where Bond hunts down a double agent on the rooftops of Siena, Italy that culminates in one of the most inventive gun fights in action movie history where, let's just say, Bond loses his sidearm and only has seconds left to live. I would say Quantum, now it's in 10th Anniversary, really deserves a second chance and no longer has to be overshadowed by either Casino Royale or Skyfall. It's aged well and has it's own style, identity, and purpose in telling a modern Bond film that's about combining the action and thrills fans demand while also taking some risks in showing Bond as a wounded and vulnerable killer who is paying the price for his decisions and actions while also coming to terms with his role as an agent for preserving justice and serving his country. In addition Quantum looks and sounds fantastic on blu ray with reference quality audio and video.

I have grown up with the entire James Bond series, being 12 when Dr. No was released. Sean Connery will always be the quintessential 007 for me. He was the first to raise through flag and therefore set the standard, very high, for all others.
That said, I have enjoyed the 4 movie arc with Daniel Craig immensely. He is the perfect Bond for our time just as Connery was for the 60's. Forgetting nostalgia for Goldfinger, Skyfall is my favorite Bond movie ever. And just a great film. Period.
Quantum of Solace is the least of the 4 Craig films but that still says a lot. As with most set up movies in any series, it raises more questions than it answers. Especially true here as, at its release, we did not realize that this was not your usual stand-alone Bond film but one of four chapters. Now that this series is, sadly by all appearances, complete, this film is even more satisfying than at its release.
Until these films, there was no attempt to have Bond grow or develop his personality in any of the earlier movies. Here, we see his strengths and weaknesses. We see why he has such a dismissive attitude towards women. And even find some salvation. But only after losses that actually affect him.
I don't know where the Brocoli's are going to take 007 next. I look forward that day. They have, however, set the bar very high with Daniel Craig and these 4 films.

Quantum of Solace is an exceptional James Bond picture that was unfairly maligned by critics. Perhaps the film's abrupt beginning, which starts without alerting audiences to the plot of the previous film, caught viewers who weren't intimately familiar with Casino Royale off guard. As such, viewers of Quantum of Solace are advised to re- watch Casino Royale immediately prior to beginning the film. MGM's Blu-ray presentation of the film is first rate; its reference grade video and audio set new standards in Blu-ray quality. Those on the lookout for supplements, however, will be disappointed in the slim selection of extras included with the release. Quantum of Solace is an intensely exciting James Bond adventure that ties up loose ends from Casino Royale, while cementing Daniel Craig's place among the best Bonds in history. Quantum of Solace receives my highest recommendation.

There are parts of this film that show true genius, and there are parts of this film where the writer's strike happening at the time is obvious. Craig and Forster have been open about how they would put together a day's worth of work before they did it...because the writers were gone. Kudos to them for trying, but they fell short in some areas. Dominic Greene is a weak villain who comes off more like a 4-year old in the back seat of a road trip than a true Bone villain. You never feel afraid of him. Craig was excellent as always, as this films picks up right where the masterpiece that is Casino Royale leaves off. Definitely worth a view, but weak at major points.

Daniel Craig returns as James Bond in the second installment of the new Bond series films. The storyline continues where Casino Royale leaves off. Following the trail of a new villain leads bond to discover the connection to the previous bad guys and an Evil group of financiers and a criminal organization with international terrorist ties! Plenty of action, and typically beautiful Bond girls round out the plot of this high octane, high flying adventure! Another great Bond movie! Will Bond finally get his revenge ? This one answers questions raised in Casino Royale ! Get it for sure!

Just purchased a New Samsung 4K UHD 65" Q90T Q-LED TV and got a Samsung 4K UHD Blu-ray DVD player with a Samsung Q950T Surround Bar System and purchased this 4K UHD Movie as it is one of my many favorites. The ATMOS DTX surround sound and Picture are awesome! Like being in a Movie Theater, especially since theatres have been closed due to COVID-19. The 4K DVD was at a good price too during black Friday sales.

Bought this and the other three Daniel Craig steelbooks about 3 months ago. Thought they looked absolutely fabulous in this form. Casino Royale in deep red, this one a deep golden brown, Skyfall in a deep green and Spectre in a deep blue. Wish they would begin bringing the other Bond films out in 4K steelbook form. What a collection that would be. Oh, and the movies themselves are pretty darn good too.

Some on-the-edge-of-your-seat Scenes

While it's not my favorite 007 in the new James Bond series with Daniel Craig, it sure has some excellent on-the-edge-of-your-seat scenes. It's a well-done movie, but it's more like an action flick than a classic James Bond film, ... but that has been the issue since Craig came on board as he just lacks the style of the "old" James Bond character. The chase scenes with the Aston Martin as well as with the boat are breathtaking. Overall, it's well worth seeing and entertaining.

I'm guessing any reader wants to now about the technical specifications rather than the quality of the film so let me reassure you that the HD picture quality is first class as is the sound reproduction. If only the film was as good. Thankfully it's shorter than SPECTRE but just as disappointing in it's own way.
SPECTRE is confused and plot heavy whilst this is lean but both have bland characters you care little for, let alone about. QOS has style to spare so whilst the money was spent on production design and locations rather than a decent script it is easy on the eye for the most part, with one huge exception. The first 20 minutes and the action sequences are frenetic. It wasn't edited, it was butchered. I'm sure the set designer and the second unit director, Dan Bradley of Bourne Identity fame, did an excellent job but I saw no evidence of that as those scenes went by in a blur with no sense of scene-geography or inclusion. They assaulted the senses rather than seduced them.
I purchased the steel tin edition for $10 and despite my grumbles about the quality of the movie I'm more than happy with the quality of this collectors Blu-ray. As well as the high quality picture and sound presentations there are some interesting extras, though no "Inside Quantum of Solace" documentary, unfortunately. If the tales of on-set problems are to be believed then a detailed "making of" feature may have been more entertaining than the movie.
