I dont have the most experience with VR so I can’t say how it compares to other VR systems. Having said that, I thought I would have buyer’s remorse, but I’ve had none! This is such a good time! My only critique is that the battery lasts about 2 hrs or maybe a tad less while mirroring to a bigger screen. So I’d recommend getting the head strap with the battery pack.
We hope you continue to enjoy the Metaverse experience while we work on to improve the performance and efficiency for our customers.

The color passthrough has added depth to some games allowing you to play in augmented reality (where supported) allowing for more awareness of your surroundings.
Hand tracking is super reliable, and the new controllers feel lighter and more accurate. The mixed reality apps are actually and fun and useful. Battery life is decent, but power banks are an option. Overall best VR performance. Excellent purchase!
We can see that you’re loving the Quest 3’s upgrades, the color passthrough, reliable hand tracking, and lighter controllers really elevate the experience. Thank you for sharing your review.

For what it is this thing is really good. But I’m still not sure if vr is for me. I messed around with it a lot after initially getting it, mostly got it for MR. But due to the poor camera quality I stoped doing that after a while. The battery life is not has good and I would hope either. I really wanted to be able to watch movies on this on a huge screen, but it doesn’t really have enough juice to last that long, and it gets uncomfortable.
All that said though it does do what it sets out to do very well, and it worked well with my pc for larger vr games.

The graphics are a huge step forward from the Quest 2. The Quest 3 is lighter and fits better on your head. The only downside is the battery life is not as good as the Quest 2. I use it in iRacing and the graphics improvement made racing even more realistic.

The Meta Quest 3 has exceeded my expectations. The image quality is very good, text and details in the cockpit are clear and sharp, and the tracking is precise and stable. I use it both in standalone mode and connected to my PC for flight simulators, and the experience is very immersive. The initial setup was easy, and the app store has a huge variety of games and useful applications.
The battery could last a bit longer for very long sessions, and the original head strap can feel a little uncomfortable after some time, but both issues can be improved with accessories. Overall, it’s a very complete headset with excellent value for the money. I highly recommend it.
Great to hear your impressed with our work, safe flying, if you wouldn't mind dropping us in Spain before you reach your destination we would be most grateful.
Happy holidays.

Our daughter has wanted a VR headset for years and this was finally gifted to her for Christmas. She loves it! She plays her game through steam, that seems to work well. She also received a Meta gift card to purchase a game directly from the Meta Quest store. She has enjoyed her new headset for over a month now.
That's amazing to hear! A Meta gift card is such a great idea to go along with a Quest 3 headset as well.
I hope your daughter continues to have a blast in the Metaverse!
Hope you had an awesome 'Questmas.'

Bought the Meta Quest for my grandson for Christmas and he was so excited. He plays on it everyday. I tried it on New Years and was blown away at the graphics and realism. I enjoyed just being in the lobby and looking around. I did shoot a couple hoops acting like a kid again. It will get you up and moving. Highly recommend for about all ages.
We really appreciate you taking the time to leave a 5 star review.
We're thrilled to hear that your grandson is enjoying his Christmas present. There really is nothing better than getting immersed in virtual reality - the Metaverse has something for everyone!

I am loving it. Great picture quality and comfortable to wear for long duration. Mixed reality is amazing. A few improvements are required ; Battery life is not great , and a few glitches in software. Overall well made and Great VR for the price.

upgraded from a quest 2, great product, love the color passthrough and much clearer screens. Is it night and day not really- you can tell its better but not leaps and bounds, it does run cooler, it feels lighter on my head and the controllers are not clunky large things like the quest 2 had. so far so good, would recommend the quest 3s to anyone wanting to get into the VR movement, maybe tell them quest 3 only if they have the money to blow.
the only downside i have is the strap- it is a terrible mess for the price of this thing i expected better. 1st thing is buy a new strap- i got the battery swappable bobavr so it never dies. this strap on a 3s ok but not the full price of this thing.
I also think $500 is a lot for this, at $400 i'd say its a great buy, $500 it's worth it if it had a better strap.
Overall I love my headset. Great buy- wish it wasn't $500 plus a strap. I play a few Mixed Reality games (the inclusion of batman was the big seller on this purchase) and PCVR games wirelessly- mostly shooters and racing sims.

MQ3, an excellent leap in standalone VR (NO FB!)

FIRSTLY BEFORE START, NO FACEBOOK REQUIRED!! That’s right!! NOOOO FACEBOOK is neither required nor needed to use the Quest 3. You can link them if you’d like or you can just simply use your email address to sign up and go full solo. I was hesitant to ever buy any Meta Quest but was just so happy to see FB wasn’t needed.
Now onto my review.
I was pleasantly surprised by the Meta Quest 3 when I first turned it on. I’ve owned a PSVR for the PS4 Pro for many years now and have highly enjoyed it. While the Quest 3 does not exceed the visuals and fidelity of the psvr it does a great job of introducing you in the world of VR and AR/MRA.
I purchased a few games as it had a good Christmas sale going. Asgards Wrath is fun and intuitive. Assassin’s Creed does nice giving you a good view of the world of AC. Music games are a wonderful flashback to Guitar Hero and the like as I have really missed that era. All without the need for extra plastic peripherals. And Mixed Reality games such as First Encounter which is free coming with the device showcases how clean and clear the front cameras are to the outside world and in.
Battery life is what you’d expect, 2-3 hours. I use the headset on my bed the most because it can be hard to move from time to time standing up for myself and other medical conditions. In this case I have a long 10ft cable I currently use for my tablet and phone. Works well with my quest. I think it’s a 30 watt charger brick. It’s able to keep my device charge as I use it at the same time whenever I’m playing music games with my arms or watching YouTube VR and other video streaming apps.
NEGATIVES: so if you’ve never used an Oculus Rift S, Steams VRs or PlayStation VR 1 and/or 2 you’ll have absolutely no idea how narrow the Quest is in comparison. For that reason you’ll be fine. If you have used the others as I have then it’ll instantly be obvious. The Quest is a little more akin to looking through binoculars. The immersive-ness isn’t as “you’re inside another world” as the psvr. It will take awhile of you actually playing the Quest 3 for it to hit as your brain adjusts to the differences.
LCD LENS- the lens are lcd. When you’re in psvr and a game is loading or has a black background you’ll feel it. You’ll feel the depth and you’ll see what looks like the device being off (when loading) because of psvr OLED tech. It’s beautiful. The lcd on the Quest 3 can break immersion at times when it does use things such as the darkness in horror games. On the other hand the brightness is great and provides a nice view and color for anime and brighter media.
And lastly just a few things to touch up on. The psvr had a straight view, but looking around you can see the lens abit blurry (if you’ve played it you’ll know what I mean). On the oculus rift 2 it has that “door” effect. The Quest 3 has none of these issues. It’s clean, it’s clear and has no window door effect nor blur around the edges. My only wish is for the next models to use OLED. It would make it sooooooo much better. I’d also like for a bigger view. The controls work perfect. The switching between VR in view and your outside surroundings is a quick switch. Cameras are clean. It can record anything you see and play which is a plus.
It can track your hand movements. And it can also track via just pointing through your headset view and tapping the Volume button when it notices your controls or hands aren’t in view (switches to a white dot reticle inside your view).
It can cast to your phone and chromecast. Records and screenshots automatically sync to your phone app. I have yet to try the pc air sync yet but I’ve read that it works well.
And as for sound…..the Audio is excellent! I couldn’t believe how loud and bass heavy the built in audio was.
All in all, a must buy for anyone wanting to get into VR. It is head and above the Quest 2. I’m pretty impressed even after owning a psvr and Rift S for years. Yes, it won’t match those but for what it is doing it truly is very, very well. And by the by, I have the 512gb model and currently used about 200gb which is more than the 128gb model. If you plan to use a few games 128 is enough. If you’re like me and are very crazy with downloading many games, videos (quest 3 has videos you can actually download to the storage and even upload to library for offline viewing which takes up space) AND recording sessions then go 512 as you can not add an sd card or any storages. Asgard Wrath 2 by itself is very large and THE largest game. 40ish gb. The other games are all less than 10gb. Assassins creed I want to say was between 10-20gb.
So if you’ve been holding out, now is the time. And no Facebook? Highly, highly recommend the Meta Quest 3!
(Thank you for reading and apologies if I may be out of order as I’m typing as I’m thinking. But I hope it helps someone’s decision as I used my personal experience thats often further in difference from a typical, casual user)

After a long time of trying to convince my girlfriend that the quest 3 is way better than the quest 2, I finally bought it while she was out visiting her family and now I'm sleeping on the couch but I have fun killing zombies and pretending to be Ezio Auditore in assassin's creed... so... worth it!
We are super glad you managed to sneak yourself a new Quest 3. The couch never felt so good!
Happy slaying both the zombies and those dastardly Templars.

Wanna talk about an upgrade. The Meta Quest 2 is amazing! But the 3 takes it to a whole
New level! The pancake lenses really make a huge difference! I got this and the 2 for my son. I have played both, this one is so realistic. We both love it and give it 4 thumbs up! You will not regret this purchase. He thought he was getting the 3S, but I thought if you are gonna upgrade might as well really upgrade. Plus added 2 year accidental with Best Buy and Geek Squad! Would have done longer if I could! For $100 extra that was a steal! I spent way more in 2 years with the 2 for broken parts! Get this instead of 3S if you are wanting to upgrade!
Thanks for the amazing review for your new Meta Quest 3!
We are thrilled to welcome you and your son back into the Metaverse!
We look forward to seeing where your adventures take you across the many worlds of VR!

I think this device is really cool. I like how you can control apps and some games with your bare hands instead of using the controllers for everything. I enjoyed the apps and the platformer games. The motion of the shooting games made me feel carsick, but I am in my 30's. I was dissatisfied with the battery life, but there are 3rd-party head straps with battery packs on them.
Thanks for taking the time to write us an awesome review. We're delighted that you're enjoying the Quest 3! We'd like to fully welcome you to the Metaverse! You'll not regret joining us!
We have an Elite Strap with battery accessory that's on our website and is always a great add-on for that extra battery percentage, we'd definitely recommend having a look!
Have a wonderful rest of your day and take care.

So happy I made this purchase. I had the original before it was Quest...this is on a totally different level. The new lenses and display really set it apart. So many cool games and experiences to check out too! Thinking of getting another for the girlfriend and kids to get on and play with me. Downsides: headstrap and battery are lacking in my opinion. These were the first things I upgraded and hapy I did.
