I was blown away the first time I used the Meta Quest 3s. This is my first VR headset. In the past I had family that had first gen sets that used your phone to simulate VR. And that would hurt my eyes after a few minutes and I really didn’t care for it.
The Meta 3s fits any and all sizes and shapes comfortably. Virtually no short term eye strain. However, there is a little after 30 plus minutes of use. It takes a few minutes for your eyes to readjust. Included with the unit is a glasses adapter that I installed without issue. This is perfect, when I am using the Meta my glasses are not smashed into my eyes or they don’t feel like they are being pushed down on my nose. The sound is very impressive with speakers near your ears.
When I first booted, I made an account and did the walkthrough which was extremely helpful. The included dual controllers are very easy to use. When you put them down and hold up your hands they too can be used to control the Meta.
I always wondered how people could have a safe zone so you wouldn’t hit anything or fall. Meta takes care of that. When you go Immersive the first thing it does is map out a zone for you. After confirming it, anytime you step out of the zone. The Meta turns off the immersive zone and you are able to see your surroundings. Once back in the zone, Immersive turns back on.
The included free Batman Game is very cool. This game will help you become more comfortable with the Meta with the use of the controllers and hand.
The main screen is basically a PC OS with browsing, settings, the Meta store for apps (tons of free stuff)
I was also floored watching TV and movies. You can set it up anywhere in your viewing area and resize the screen. This is a neat feature for those that like to multitask. You can open other items and work or play as the movie or video is playing. You can even remote into your desktop.
I love the concert or sporting event videos. You really feel like you have a front seat and are there. As it has a slight 3d effect.
The battery life is a little short and only work for a few hours before needing recharged. But this is about the right amount of time to let your eyes have a break. The dual hand controllers also have batteries that have to be replaced.
The Horizon worlds are a very neat little area where you can further get used to the VR and controller with cute little games, you can even go to different themed rooms and meet people or groups.
I am very impressed and can’t wait to see what all I can do as time goes on with the Meta.
I would recommend to family and friends.
We are happy to hear that you found the headset easy to set up and use and that your son is enjoying playing in the Metaverse.
We wish you a wonderful rest of your day and a continued great time in the Metaverse!

When I first got my hands on the Meta Quest 3S 256GB, bundled with Batman: Arkham, I knew I was in for a treat. Meta’s sleek packaging was a delight from the get-go. The box feels premium, and once you slide off the top, you're greeted by the headset, controllers, and a neatly organized set of accessories. The unboxing experience immediately sets a tone of high quality and innovation.
Setup Experience
Setting up the Quest 3S was surprisingly smooth. All you need is the Meta Quest mobile app, which guides you through connecting the headset to Wi-Fi and adjusting your play space. In under 10 minutes, I was ready to explore. The app itself is intuitive, offering a hub for game purchases, updates, and managing your VR experience.
Once setup is complete, the real fun begins: Horizon Worlds customization. You can personalize your avatar to your liking with countless options. I spent more time than I’d like to admit tweaking my character — changing facial features, outfits, and even adding little quirks to reflect my style. It’s a nice touch to have a virtual representation of yourself in this expansive VR world.
Gaming Adventures
The Quest 3S is all about delivering immersive experiences, and it doesn't disappoint. Here are some highlights:
Batman: Arkham VR
Sliding on the headset and stepping into Batman's boots was a dream come true. Exploring the Batcave and solving mysteries in Gotham felt incredibly realistic. The motion tracking is spot-on, and the dark atmosphere pulls you right in. I was Batman, and for those precious minutes, I forgot the real world existed.
Gorilla Tag
If you want pure chaos and fun, Gorilla Tag is a must-play. The game’s physicality — swinging your arms to move — provides a hilarious workout. The controllers track every motion precisely, and the Quest 3S handles this fast-paced game effortlessly.
First Encounters
This introductory experience is perfect for getting used to VR. It's playful, interactive, and highlights the system’s capabilities, especially the refined hand tracking. The visuals are crisp, and interactions feel natural, even without controllers.
Meta Horizon Worlds
Exploring different worlds within Horizon is a blast. Whether you're hanging out in virtual lounges, attending events, or playing user-created games, the sheer variety keeps things fresh. Each world loads quickly, and the Quest 3S handles the transitions seamlessly.
Performance & Features
Hand Tracking:
I was genuinely impressed by how well the hand tracking works. Whether navigating menus or interacting with objects, it’s as fluid and responsive as using the controllers. It adds a new level of immersion — sometimes, I just preferred using my hands for basic interactions.
Battery Life:
The headset delivers around 2-3 hours of continuous play, which is decent. For longer sessions, I’d recommend a break or keeping a battery pack handy. The controllers have excellent longevity and lasted over a week before needing a recharge.
Comfort:
Comfort is crucial for extended VR sessions, and Meta nailed it. The Quest 3S feels lighter than its predecessors, with adjustable straps and balanced weight distribution. I wore it for up to 2 hours without feeling significant fatigue. The face padding is soft, and ventilation keeps things cool.
Audio & Mic Quality:
The built-in speakers provide surprisingly good spatial audio. The sound is clear, and you get a sense of directionality, which is essential for games like Batman: Arkham. The microphone is clear and picks up voice commands and chat without any issues. If you want more isolation, you can always plug in headphones.
Download Speeds:
Downloading games and updates was quick over Wi-Fi 6. Batman: Arkham VR took about 10 minutes to download and install, which was reasonable for its size.
Conclusion
The Meta Quest 3S 256GB delivers an all-in-one VR experience that's hard to beat. From the satisfying unboxing to the seamless setup, immersive games, and impressive hand tracking, it feels like a step forward in the world of virtual reality. The comfortable design and solid battery life make it suitable for extended play, while the speakers and mic clarity ensure you stay connected.
Whether you’re a fan of exploring Gotham as the Dark Knight, running wild in Gorilla Tag, or creating and hanging out in Meta Horizon Worlds, the Quest 3S has something for everyone. If you're looking for a self-contained VR headset that brings immersive gaming and exploration to life, the Meta Quest 3S is an easy recommendation.

Same as the last one imo. Slight differences here and there. Nothing to write home about. VR still has a long way to go. But the product itself is great. Built good, works as intended.

I want to preface that I have never been exposed to Virtual Reality and my experience with the Meta Quest 3S was my first time.
The unboxing was very simple and nicely packaged. The headset itself is really well built and was super easy to adjust to fit my head. Inside the box, Meta kindly includes a glasses spacer which is very easy to put on. For those that wear glasses, you will enjoy and find comfort with this.
The setup process really blew my mind especially being my first exposure to VR. Having the ability to see everything around and in front of me but also setting up the device with a separate screen that was feet away from me was nuts. Meta also walks you through how to use the device and also switch off Field of View so you are surrounded in a virtual world. This part was absolutely incredible being inside of this gorgeous high resolution virtual world. I started by playing ping pong and was beyond impressed with it because the Meta Quest 3S seriously made me feel like I was playing ping pong in a VR world. The battery life for the device was also pretty good (I did not time it exactly but I played for a few hours before having issues). I also did not feel or get nauseous using this device but I did have to get used to it. The headset came with Batman Arkham Shadow which is pretty neat...if you have never used VR you kind of feel like a 1st person Batman. It is pretty wild. The eye portion of the device can be adjusted left or right to really fine tune your face and comfort. I have to get used to the controllers still because I am used to a PlayStation style controller but it is still fantastic.
I love the Meta Horizon app that accompanies the device. It is extremely easy to pair with the headset and it is great at automatically downloading apps or games. The library is great.
I highly recommend watching youtube or movies on the Meta Quest. The sound is fantastic and almost feels surround sound. However, the idea that you can have this headset on and watch a film on what feels like a movie theater screen is impossible for me to describe unless you try it. It is remarkable and I am so excited that this was my first time using VR. I HIGHLY recommend the Meta Quest 3s and family of products.

Talk about stepping into something wild and crazy! Try these new VR from Meta, it's off the chain good!
I got to be honest, I was a little scared after I got my Meta Quest 3S. I stared at the goggles before I turned them on for like 30min. I don't like heights, I don't like roller coasters! All that stuff that makes you guts come out of your mouth, yeah I'm good! So this was a big deal for me to try these out, right, man I'm so Glad I did. The experience at first was fear then, came the joy and blown away by the realistic feel and the sensation of actually being at the event your viewing. I've only had it for 5 days so I have yet to play a game because my emotions are so over the place about this experience. I get stuck in YOUTUBE video wormhole every time and I lose track of time, it's like Mickey D's fries you can't have just one! When you stop hearing your wife's nagging, pull the goggles off and check the time because it's probably late like 3am!
If you like going to the movies, watching any videos in VR is like an Imax, really stunning. Another thang I like is the passthrough mode that lets you see your actual surroundings while wearing the headset so you can move around without taking them off. Their are so many great features you guys have got tryout. Next for me is gaming
Thank you for such a great review, we are happy to hear that you have joined our adventure through the Metaverse, and we hope you keep having such a wonderous experience in the future.
We look forward to seeing you gaming soon.

This is my first experience with a virtual/mixed reality headset, so I don't have anything to compare it with, but- WOW is the only way I can describe it. Wearing this headset allows you to totally immerse yourself in a virtual world(s), or with a switch you can use software while still being able to see your surroundings. It will automatically set a boundary based on the room you are using it in if you want, and it does a great job of letting you know if you are approaching or crossing the boundary without affecting your play. The amount of apps and games available are almost overwhelming. There is literally something for everyone. You can download the Meta Horizon app on your smart device just to get a preliminary idea of what would be available to you. My favorite experience so far is a virtual Mt Everest expedition that is so realistic you will be amazed. It's like you are actually there except you can breathe and you are not freezing! The included Batman: Arkham Shadow game is incredible, as well. It takes some getting used to to control your character, but the experience is unmatched. The possibilities are endless with this headset. You have to see it for yourself to really understand what this is capable of. You will be amazed!

Like my Title says, this is fun to have but it does lack some things, especially compared to a console. Which is a big part in why I am giving this a 3 star.
My biggest complaint with this is that games that are installed under one account, cannot be played under another account. It would be nice if they had a way to allow this like consoles. Maybe a once-a-month log into the account that games are associated with.
Another thing was that the Free Batman game, whatever account you first sign up with, it will add it to that account. They need to have a way that you actually select to add it. We first set this up with one account, did not select for the game and decided we wanted to have another account as the main, so we reset this. But it then would not let us add the game. We had to add the first account and then could get the game thru that account and back to my first complaint, can only play the game from that account.
It would also be nice if they maybe added a second USB-C port on the other side so you can choose what side to plug in and charge.
I also find this not easy to just plug and play for PC games.
Lastly, it would be nice (and this is just my opinion and not a factor to my 3 star). But would be nice to have this have a HDMI port to either plug in a HDMI cord into it so that you can plug and use it like a regular monitor.
But like I mentioned, it is fun to play. Angry birds for instance give you a first person view to playing. It also has games that scan your room and then have bugs, zombies etc. come out and you scan and shoot them or collect them etc. I will admit though it does not give quite the view that you would have for peripheral in real life. But still a lot of fun and you feel more emerged with games. having to look around like you would instead of using joysticks or a mouse to look around. Movies are fun to watch as you can set the screen to be a tv, theater, etc.
My last couple complaints that I almost forgot to mention is that the charging cord is short. Why they don't provide a 10 plus foot cord is beyond me. And they do not provide a case and a lenses cleaning rag. Even cheap glasses you can get usually come with both those.
