The device treats it as an extension as opposed to an external power source.

Not to mention the least a free Triple AAA game!

Finicky but works

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The first one I bought wouldn't charge no matter what I did, had to return and purchase another then charge it overnight. Plug in/Unplug from the headset a couple times to recognize it, but now it works perfectly! Looked it up, and it seems to be a common issue with these, where it's kinda hit or miss. I had the Elite Strap with Battery for the Quest 2, and that worked immediately so I was kinda disappointed this one took some messing around with/replacing. Also the battery life isn't as long as the Quest 2's version for some reason? The reason I'd recommend this though is first party is always best in case things go wrong, the manufacturer can't blame the user's third party add-ons lol

We are glad to hear that after a brief hiccup that you were able to get your Elite Strap with Battery working.
The estimated 2 extra hours of battery life are great for prolonged gaming sessions!
To answer your questions regarding the battery life compared to the Quest 2 Elite Strap with Battery, is that the Quest 3 consumes more power than the Quest 2 but with a full charge of both headset and strap you should expect around 4 hours of usage. (Depending on what apps are in use.)

I bought this as a gift to myself lol, The headset is a whole new world experience for game lovers. I’m a little old school from playing the Nintendo to the ps1 and Xbox switching over to the VR changed my perspective on the console industry. I can’t get enough of it their are a few flaws but I can see why it’s made like that for example the battery life is only 2hrs without the battery Add on so your stuck in one spot for hours playing . Love it! If your thinking on getting one try it out and you’ll love it the same way I do
