1. the music- the new game uses real songs in the menus and in between innings. not the same 1 song that the other game had.
2- the players faces now somewhat resemble the actual players.
3- home runs now have a running bases animation with music.
if you hit a grand slam it actually says "grand slam". the old game didn't say when it was a grand slam.
4. graphics are improved and now there a real people sitting in the stands.
5. right handed and left handed pitching is very different now. on 17 the hand you pitched with didnt really matter.
6. addition of home run derby
7. fielding is much better and easier to track the ball.
overall a better experience than 17 imo.

The controls are horrible, the graphics are like blobs, and should be sold for $5.99 otherwise don’t buy it.
