Excellent device. I like that you pick the soil type and it knows how much water is needed. It is already saving me money by not watering when rain has occurred or is forecasted.

With a (wireless) internet connection, it can monitor any of the weather stations that are online in the area, to monitor rain patterns to make sure that you are not water during (or just after) a rain. It will also adjust your watering frequency depending on the time of season. One feature that I don't fully understand yet is how it thinks it knows how much water i'm using. For example, it does not ask for how many pressure independent drips I have on a zone, nor is there a water meter built into my sprinkler system. However the iphone app thinks that it is tracking my water usage, and gives a value in "Gallons." Odd.

I replaced my old controller because I would never keep up with changing watering schedules based on weather. This thing takes care of everything. You can keep it simple and use pretty generic settings or get really specific about types of sprinkler heads and flow rates.

Great wireless controller that keeps ability to control on the unit as well. Very easy to set up and customize, very reliable and easy to use. Highly recommended.

It only makes sense that IoT meets sprinkler system. This unit is great. I love being able to use a mobile app to set the sprinkler schedule and have the system smart enough to check local weather before watering. I reduced my water usage right away.

Controller is awesome! It is a great feeling to install a product and it works perfectly. I especially like that when I occasionally get a broken head or worried about a zone I can pull out my phone and turn it on. The integration with local weather stations is working perfect for me. The grass and the garden have never looked better! Don't forget to submit the rebate and it nearly pays for itself.

This was a great purchase. The ability to control zone activation via a cell phone application is a nice feature. The application may include a lot of configuration, such as soil type. I needed to investigate a little bit to feel comfortable utilizing the automatic sprinkler control function of this product. My water company participated in a federal rebate program, where my purchase of this smart sprinkler system has fully rebated the purchase price and is applied as credit to my future water bills. I haven't paid a water in 3 months and I still have some credit.

I bought this based on recommendation by my sprinkler maintaining company. I replaced my old Rainbird with this one. This is great wireless system and you can set up your system and operate from your mobile phone or iPad. You know when the watering is done or skipped due to soil conditions and weather forecast. You can see how much water is used and saved anytime. It also sends email to you when it skipped watering based on weather forecast! Some cities also give rebate in their water bills for installing this system. I love this 2nd generation smart sprinkler controller!

This is a great device. I'm able to control all my watering right from my phone. Extremely convienant and very reliable. Super easy to install.

After reviewing multiple systems, this appeared to be the best option. After installation that was fairly easy, operation couldn't be simpler. The app is very intuitive and highly customizable. The interface to my closest weather station keeps the Rachio up to date on weather conditions and any rain in the forecast. I get notices/alerts when it skips a day watering or even for a seasonal shift, as it calls moving from one season to the next. So far, very happy and impressed with this product.

I used to own an old sprinkler controller and when I switched to this one I feel as though part of my life changed. No more walkie talkies to test zones or blow out the sprinkler system. Easy to use zone setup and test. I enjoy the quick run button. If I see grass needing a little extra water I hit start. I was able to increase the times when on vacation and a house sitter informed me the grass was looking a little dead. Well worth the money to use this product.

Love this set up, install and initial set up was a breeze. Reliable and so much easier to use than a traditional.

I love being able to control my sprinklers from my phone. Wasn't too hard to set up, works great.

Great product, it takes a bit to get started but after a few months its starts its own routine and you can pretty much forget about it. Just test your WiFi range before you install it.

Thus was fairly easy to install, super easy to control from a phone, and predictively saves water. So much better than just the standard rain gauge. We've had it for several weeks now and we have already saved hundreds of gallons of water

I have since bought 3 of these - 2 for my house and 1 for my daughter. Makes tracking of the activity of my sprinkler system super easy and convenient. I am not realizing as much savings because in California it does not rain that much but i can just imagine the savings back east for example. Support is prompt and to the point - no running around the bush asking you to do things that have already been done or do not apply.

I purchased this cause I needed more zones to finish my backyard. This controller is awesome, the ability to turn it on from anywhere was great especially for me since we just had new sod laid, and I did not want to set 3 different times. Installation and setup was easy. just a note.. make sure that you have the wire in the correct hole and do not want to move them.. It is not very easy to get them out .

I wanted to improve the efficiency of my sprinklers and although I've only owned it for almost a month, I can tell it'll save me money. I have 12 zones and the controller is incredibly customizable. Not only will it skip rain days, it'll skip windy days and freeze warning days (great for my unpredictable area in the Spring) in which you can set the parameters for rain amount, wind speed, and temperature. There's a soak option to where the system will run through the zones for a short cycle to allow the water to soak in and then run back through the zones again minimizing water run off. During the setup of the zones, you tell the controller about what is in the zone like sprinkler head type, soil type, grass type, plant type, slope, sun exposure, etc. The controller then monitors sun exposure, humidity, wind, rain and considers everything as it sets your watering schedule and reschedules as the weather changes. It's crazy. If you have a zone that doesn't need watering, it knows this and will schedule it separately on another day. It uses local weather stations that you can choose from to get its weather info from and my station is only 8/10ths of a mile away so my weather info is very accurate. I'm super impressed and optimistic that my water bill will decrease this year. Absolutely recommend.
