Customers are saying

Customers appreciate the wide variety of games and the low price point of Rare Replay, frequently citing the nostalgic value and overall fun factor. However, some users found the controls challenging in certain titles, and the large download size and storage space requirements were also common criticisms. The presentation of the games was generally praised.

Can't go wrong with this collection, for 30 bucks you get some great classic games. Plus it has Conker Bad Fur Day which I'd hard to find and expensive if you do find it.

I had never heard of this collection until I saw it on the shelf at my local Best Buy. If you are in you mid 20s to early 30s and you ever owned a Nintendo 64 you MUST buy this game. It is literally 1 dollar per game and contains several gaming classics that caused me to nearly keel over from the nostalgia. I would have paid 30$ for just the Banjo-Kazooie series, but instead I paid 30$ and got that, Jet Force Gemini, both Perfect Darks, Conker's Bad Fur Day and about 2 dozen other pieces of gaming history. I love it.

It's $30 for 30 games as they were when they all came out. I bought this just to play Conker's Bad Fur Day again and has the original multiplayer. A little weird playing on an Xbox One controller but eventually you get the hang of it. The only complaint I have is most of the games were 4:3 ratio so the border they chose was this really distracting cluster of Rare characters and it gets kinda annoying but for $30 it's not a huge factor. Do yourself a favor especially if you're a new Xbox One owner. Buy this game.

Rareware's pride and joy in a nutshell!

Every single great game Rareware has made has been jam packed into a affordable masterpiece released on the Xbox one! I grew up on the N64 so I enjoyed a LOT of Rare games especially legendary Banjo Kazooie, Conkers Bad Fur day, and Perfect Dark. I understand the license is probably impossible to get now but I wish 007 Goldeneye could've been added to the collection along with Conker's Live and Reloaded (Which was the HD overhauled Remake of Conker's Bad Fur day!) Atleast the original game CBFD was included in this masterpiece. Otherwise you can't complain for a huge collection for $30. Reason what sold me was Jet Force Gemini was one of my absolute favorite N64 games by Rare but it was so intense on the N64 that it lagged a lot and the graphics were quite blurred on the SD out puts. Now we live in a generation of HD and I can play this game how it was meant to be played! Unfortunately the controls are a little bit weird but i'll live. Unless someone figures out a aftermarket N64 controller mod....lol. Maybe i'll get board and build one. Anyways! This game is a double bargain if you have Best buy's gamer club! Probably the cheapest fun you'll dump hours and hours into.

Very good package for you're money. 30 games for 30$. The games are wrapped in a neat gallery style presentation. Very well done. Also lots of fun games for multiple players. My favorite game in the package is perfect dark. My only complaint is that mantid therapies have to be downloaded separately. This takes up time and hdspace.

I bought the game while it was on sale for $20 plus the 20 percent off with the gmc no brainer had to pick up their is bunch of games I used play back in my day the only drawbacks are that you have to install the bigger games like banjo kazooie and since their is no Z button and c buttons their alot weird combination for games that were made for n64

    Wonderful Trip Down Memory Lane

From Battletoads, to Viva Pinata, there's something for everyone on this super collection of RARE developed games. Definite high points involve the two series mentioned above, and also the Banjo-Kazooie games (minus Nuts & Bolts), Perfect Dark, Conker's Bad Fur Day, and Killer Instinct. The Microsoft era has its ups and downs, but are all decent games at least. Probably the weakest games in the collection are their oldest arcade/ZX Spectrum games. There's some fun to be had trying to attain the Snapshot Challenges. But beyond that, those games won't hold your attention. Probably the biggest omission from the collection is all of RARE's work with Nintendo during the Super Nintendo era and Goldeneye on the Nintendo 64. Everyone would love to play the SNES Donkey Kong Country games and Goldeneye, but alas, this collection is not on a Nintendo console. Still, there's a lot of fun and enjoyment to be had here for a very reasonable price. Great for old school gamers and newer gamers curious what games used to be like 10, 20, or even 30 years ago. And in case you're wondering: YES, Battletoads on NES really is that hard. If you felt Dark Souls was a romp with puppies through a flower bed, you might want to give it a go.

I appreciate all of the effort Rare put into this collection. The presentation is excellent and you cannot beat the value that this bundle provides. Although I'm a little upset they didn't include Goldeneye or Donkey Kong, I enjoy the variety that they included.

This collection is well worth the money. While some of the older games don't hold up very well, most of them are great and if you don't have the consoles to play some of the older titles this is one of the only places where they are available. There are definitely some stand-out classics (like Battletoads and Banjo-Kazooie) that justify the price of the game alone, and the games that don't hold up well are still great for historical reasons. In addition to the games there are videos from Rare about the making of several of the games, unreleased games, concept art, and music. The only problem with the videos is that they have to be unlocked by earning stamps from playing the other games, so it will take many hours of play to unlock them all. Overall it's a great purchase for fans of Rare or anyone who is interested in good retro games or video game history.

This collection is pretty amazing. As a lifelong gamer I love the nostalgia that hits for so many different eras of gaming. I was too young for the arcade/Atari style games so getting to try them was actually quite the treat; it surprised me that they were actually very entertaining to try out. Then of course you get to the heavy hitters like battle toads that bring me right back to my childhood. I am glad that they left the meaningful difficulty in, while giving you optional help with the rewind feature as well as adding infinite continues. Then you get into the later games from the xbox era and those are also pretty fun. All in all I would have happily paid $60 for this collection so the price is a steal.

I remember this game being announced at E3 and said to myself,"Wow now that's a game I am really going to look forward to!" Even though I knew already that if might be overlooked at. People should still go out and try this amazing collection. Not only is the value amazing but every single game has something creative and different to offer to pretty much any player. The game also from the start pulls you in with its amazing yet funny introduction and shows more than just the games it has. Rare Replay is also a history lesson on video games as well because it teaches especially to new video gamers these days that a game shouldn't be criticized for its graphics but on how fun game truly is. Thanks for reading.

I was hesitant to buy this, but then first figured it was only $1 for each game, can't beat that price alone. Also, after reading more into the games involved, I was beginning to remember a few of them from the SNES and N64-particularily Battletoads-so I figured the 3-5 games I remembered and enjoyed were also worth the price. After buying it and going through the games, a few more popped up where I could remember playing. Man talk about a great nostalgia trip! Also, this company, and these games, hold a place in gaming history, so any gamer interested in gaming history should check this game out.

Many Great Games a Few Duds

Many of the games in the Rare Replay are great games that have aged very well. These include the Banjo series, Conker, Perfect Dark, and Kameo. Although most of these are the newer games in the collection. The older games from around NES era have not aged well, Battletoads Arcade is an exception. For someone like me, who is used to current games it is hard to get into some of the older games that have antiqutatied controls, nonexistent maps, lackluster/no story, and poor explanations on how to play the game. Even with this said, I would recommend this collection because there are many good games in it, but many of the games will be played once and never played again by most of those who buy this because they do not stand the test of time.

You get 30 games for $30, so it's like your only paying a dollar per game. Some of them are hard but the rewind/cheat options make them bearable and don't disable achievements.

This game is worth 20 dollars alone for just Banjo Kazooie and Banjo Tooie. With other additions such as perfect dark, battletoads, and jetpac. This is just a great bundle of Rare classics that anyone who never grew up with these owes it to themselves to buy this and play these games. Some of these games still hold up well and are better put together than alot of new games being released. Only thing that could have been better would have been adding Donkey Kong 64 and Goldeneye but I understand since those werent purely Rare games. If you own a Xbox One, this should already be in your library.

There are so many good classic games in this collection that it is hard not wanting to go back and re-live old memories. Even if you have previously played some of these games there is plenty of content to keep you occupied, and if you have never heard of any of these games before then you are in for a treat! Keep in mind that most games in this collection will play as they were released (10+ years ago) so even with a visual update, the gameplay may feel antiquated to some. Highlights include Perfect Dark, the multiple Banjo-Kazooie games, and my personal favorite Jet Force Gemini.

I throughly enjoyed living through my childhood one more time. There only a few negatives but that doesn't really prevent the game from showing you a good time. First you will notice the omission of Goldeneye due to legal reason but at least the substitute of perfect dark can help fill the void. The other issue is that some of these games use the backwards compatiblity of the Xbox one which can take up some time to load it up and can take you out of the experience. All and all, for 30 bucks, you can't beat time timeless collection of games

i have played tons of rare games in my life, some games i didnt even know were rare games. this bundle of games is easily worth the $30 or $24 if your an elite member. if you only ever played rares 360 games and still own them id recommend to wait because most of them should become backwards compatible, because thats essentially whats going on with the 360 games in the bundle anyway. to me the biggest downfall of the bundle is the extra content. not that theres not a lot of it, there is, its that almost all of the extra content in the game has to get unlocked. and you need to play through a lot of hours.

This is a great collection for anyone of any age, regardless of their nostalgia. 30 games for 30 dollars, many of which are some of the greatest games (and most expensive from a retro perspective) of all time. These are not just ports though, the games are touched up, controls sometimes enhanced, and the theater theme connecting everything pulls it together nicely The only negative is the 360 games in the collection are played via a 360 downloaded version of the game outside of the Rare Replay game itself.

It's funny how with the release of this compilation, Xbox One officially has more Nintendo 64 games on it than Nintendo's very own Wii U. Joking aside, this is one of the best compilation discs released. Immediately, you will notice the charming, yet appropriate presentation. The game selection is quite nice as well, featuring classics such as Viva Piñata, Battle Toads, Perfect Dark, Banjo Kazooie, and Jet Force Gemini. These games have never looked better. Plus, there's over 3,000 achievements.
