Got this for my grandson for Christmas. It looks like it will be a fun game for him to play. Just hope he doesn't already have this one.

I didn’t like the Ratchet & Clank series back in the PS2 and PS3 days, although I did respect it from a technical perspective, being one of the most beautiful collection of games on those systems. Maybe I just wasn’t into third-person mascot shooters. Something about this remake, however, made me a believer. It took almost no time for it to click, and I ended up having the best time playing through it. I enjoyed it so much that I went through it multiple times to get the Platinum. Much like the PS2 game it is based upon, this is one of the most attractive games this generation, looking almost Pixar-like at times. Playing it on a PS4 Pro reveals an even greater level of detail and sharpness. A wide assortment of unique weapons, excellent level design, and an intelligent New Game Plus implementation round out what is arguably the best remake of this generation.

My buddy let me borrow his original Ratchet and Clank that was released in 2002. I thought it was very entertaining. Now all these years later they make another one for the the PS4 and it looks fantastic!! Gameplay is very much the same. It has all the humor as before, too. Not super challenging, but still entertaining. My six-year-old twin boys will love it!! For the money, it is a great buy.

Ratchet & Clank PS4 is a solid platformer and third-person shooter that brings back the duo to their original adventure, retold in a whole new light. Like the CG film of the same name, Ratchet and Clank's origin is not a 100% recreation of their PS2 debut outing. So veterans, and even newcomers to the series may not enjoy the reimagined characters, but the tried and true gameplay that the series is known for is just as strong as always. Weapons offer a variety of upgrades that allow players to focus on anything from ammo expansions to adding new effects to dealing greater damage. Although the loadout is not as the same as the original, the choice of destructive tools ensure players will be eager to see what new toy is ready for purchase upon arriving at a new world. With that said, returning favorites such as the Groovitron and Mr. Zurkon may not sit well with players who have had previous encounters with the pair of gadgets back on the series' PS3 installments. However, the new Pixelizer is a quirky new addition that feels right at home with the franchise's fame for inventive weaponry. Overall, Ratchet & Clank 2016 is a fun game and possibly one of the best tie-ins to a film ever made that won't disappoint action junkies, and offers a somewhat more wholesome alternative to the endless line of M-rated shooters that is more suitable to kids and young adults.

This is one of the best looking games on the PS4 Even better on PS4PRO to the point it like an animated movie in real time. The game controls great and has humor that isn't overdone. My friends love it also. Great game for the price.

Great game, bought for my son for Christmas and am excited to play it with him. Good game for younger kids.

One of my fav games for the PS4! Incredible graphics, can be hard at times, but super fun! great selection of weapons, the worlds, the cities, I just simply love Ratchet and Clank! I strongly recommend it!

I'm not totally sure who Ratchet & Clank (2016) is for. Veterans to the series will find that it offers far less depth and replay-ability than previous entries in the series, which is a bit of a turnoff for those of us who recall with glee pouring hours and hours and hours into upgrading the massive catalog of weapons. On the other hand, if the game is meant to attract newcomers to the series who dont have nostalgia going for them, Ratchet and Clank seems to be slightly forgettable next to more complex modern games. It's a fun romp through old, classic Ratchet and Clank mechanics, and certainly worth the time you put into it. But I think there's a good reason this game is priced at $39. It's really not worth a full price new-game purchase Pros: Gorgeous game, nice sound design, some fun new weapons. Controls are as snappy and rewarding as ever. New Raritanium upgrade system is fun. Cons: Short game, direct translation of the story of Ratchet and Clank 1, but with the weird Hollywood tie ins. Some voice actors leave a lot to be desired. Limited weapon selection. No "Arena" area for pick-up-and-play battles.

Ratchet and Clank (2016) first and foremost is a great action and platforming game. I've only played the first Ratchet and Clank to get a taste of what I was in for but it probably wasn't necessary because the way this reboot eases you into the gameplay is very intuitive. The art and visuals look fantastic along with the particle effects used throughout the game. Not only will you have fun using all the unique weapons the game has to offer, but you'll be devastating enemies and roaming across planets surrounded by great looking environments comparable to a Pixar movie. If you have an interest in a fun action platformer with great visuals, look no further. Ratchet and Clank are back and they're here to stay.

I'd say this is a wonderful game. Good story that doesn't completely mimic the movie, awesome weapons, likeable characters, this is an all around really good game I would absolutely recommend

A ton of fun. Updated and slightly changed redo of the original ratchet and clank. Leveling system on the weapons like in rhetoric later games and a better story line. One of PS4s best games.

Remastered and awesome graphics. The old story line but with new twists and great new plants. Weapons are mostly the same but they have added some new gadgets that are great. Enjoyed it!

Wonderfully redone. This is how you retell an origin tale. You keep everything that makes Ratchet and Clank great, like the gameplay, and fun weapons, and irreverent story. And update the graphics and the tech used to tell the story. Wonderful job. Really a 4 1/2 but can't do half stars.

Wonderful action, platforming, adventure game with a great story, incredible voice acting and phenomenal animations! Progression is this game feels great and the collectibles are epic. Lots of cool unlockables and gameplay is super fun! I've never played the original and for anyone who hasn't, this game is kind of a spoiler right out of the gate so beware! Overall, game, sounds, music and graphics, this game is charming, funny and all around great! If you can snag this for $10, DO IT!

Great game like all ratchet and clanks. Did not really like the rein-visioning of the original story or lack of humor. Its a beautiful, fun game and the story is alright enough, also at a great price point. No where near as challenging as past games in the series unfortunately.

To start off, this game looks and plays beautifully. When I first saw footage of this game my jaw dropped at the level of detail this game has. Everything from the backdrop to the foliage makes the game feel like you're in a living breathing world. The gameplay itself is the most fun I've had in years with a platformer. You have a diverse arsenal of weapons from a disco ball grenade that make your enemies dance to a gun that pixelizes your enemies. Each weapon is vastly unique and keeps the action fresh, couple that with upgrades to your armor suit such as the jet pack and grind boots and you have a game that keeps on giving.

I loved every minute of this. All the weapons are awesome. It's quite comical throughout and not extremely difficult. Can obtain quite a few trophies. Fun fun fun.
