This was my first mechanical keyboard. I was concerned about how loud the key clicks might be before purchasing this product. Turns out the key clicks aren't annoying at all and I find it fun to see how fast I can type and each key click gives me satisfaction. None of the keys stick or have broken after two months of purchase and I expect this keyboard to have a long lifetime.

Good, Not Great

Impressive tactile feedback, but the amount of noise generated by Razer's "clicky" switches ala Cherry MX Blue is excessive. Backlighting is attractive and must be left on if you ever want to see the key cap labels (in Razer's "futuristic"/illegible font). Macro keys at left are too close to the rest of the keys for my liking, probably convenient for gaming, not so much for typing. Multimedia keys are foolishly placed on useful F-keys so it's unlikely you will be able to leave those enabled, necessitating use of the Fn key to activate something as simple as volume up/down/mute. Returned and replaced with Corsair K70.
If you don't mind the macro key placement, lousy multimedia controls, and unusual font on the keycaps, then I would also recommend checking out the Blackwidow Stealth for $81-99 (no backlighting, quiet switches) because the feedback from the Razer switches is still pretty impressive to me, very comparable to MX Blues, so I wonder if their quiet keys feel like MX Browns.
Why I'm keeping the Corsair K70: outstanding Cherry MX Red switches (super linear, and nearly silent movement compared to this this Razer chatterbox), useful wrist rest, aluminum build quality, and dedicated multimedia keys with a volume roller.

It is a good keyboard. i personally bought it for the sensitive touch keys and it met my expectations, but the only disappointment was that I had to seperatly download a macro binder from a website. It would have been easier if the keyboard came with a disk.

This is actually my first mechanical keyboard and I fell instantly in love. Plus the Razer software works well and the fact that I have a Razer mouse Its both very compatible.

Keep track of your child or husband with this fantastic clicky glowing keyboard. You are sure to hear it in the dead of night when they are suppose to be sleeping.

Smooth and responsive keyboard. Really wish it had a switch to turn off the mechanical clicks as it is really loud. (My husband uses this keyboard and I've started to dislike gaming in the same room as him.)
Layout is great and macro keys are easy to use. Buttons are raised nicely for ease of using keys. The lighting is great for late night gaming and not needing lights on in the room to see they keyboard.

The keyboard being mechanical is a great way to go for the gamer who is dedicated to gaming. I love this keyboard because it has a USB port on the keyboard for my mouse so I do not have to use up so much cord reaching back to the ports behind my computer. It leaves me plenty of space. Also having the mic and headphone port on there is very useful too. The only warning I have for mechanical keyboards is that they are very loud. I personally do not mind it but I like them more than the modern keyboard. I love this keyboard a lot and will continue to use it. I have always had good service with Razer's customer support when my headset went bad. They promptly sent me a new one in replacement. I will stay with Razer for a long time.

I purchased this keyboard after a pet accident ruined my previous Razer keyboard and I am very pleased.
The keys have a satisfying click, with an almost typewriter-ish 'chunk' to each keystroke. It is responsive, and the keys are lifted enough that I KNOW that I have hit a key. No matter fat fingering surrounding keys like my almost level faced previous Razer.
It is sturdy, and surprisingly heavy. I don't think I've ever owned a keyboard that feels half this solid.
If I had one complaint, that complaint would be the audio keys. They are attached to the first few 'F-keys' and you need to have the 'FN' key held down to access them. They are far away from each other, making it impossible to mute something with one hand.

I am not a gamer, however, as a certified healthcare documentation specialist, I make my living at the keyboard transcribing Operative reports. This keyboard has the perfect feel that definitely speeds up typing. The programmable keys are a great feature. This keyboard feels like the old IBM clicky keyboards I used years ago, and is extremely well made and much easier to sit at and type for long periods of time. A great product!

I do light gaming on my PC. While I, unfortunately, do not have a full-blown gaming PC, I bought the keyboard as a means to also use for my work. Since I work almost twelve hours a day every four days, I prefer to use my own computer equipment for both reliability and familiarity. Since I have been using this keyboard, I honestly cannot go back to my default work equipment. In truth, I also have to find myself readjusting to my laptop since I find the keys on the Razer more efficient and accurate. I was skeptical at first when purchasing this keyboard as I felt it would only be for showy purposes. However, after having used this for well over a month consistently now, I only wish I had purchased this keyboard sooner because even if you do not use it for gaming (although it certainly doesn't hurt), it is an amazing keyboard that has made my WPM go up by twenty words with its accuracy, comfort, and accessibility. Highly recommend this product.

I love the feel and sound of the keys when I hit them. A mechanical keyboard is just so satisfying to type on and to play with for MMORPG. The keys light up so its easier to play in the dark when you don't want to wake up anyone. I like the feel of the keyboard it is not slipper and has a slight rubbery texture to it. Excellent keyboard

It's LOUD and BRIGHT

OK, so I bought this to use in the office. The keys are every bit as loud as they should be for the old school cherry style switches, which I'm old enough to have used in the first place in the 300 baud days. At work, they are perhaps too loud. I've been tempted to return and get the stealth version for the office, but I haven't. I'm keeping this one, even though in hindsight I would recumbent the stealth version for cubicle use. The LED's are also plenty bright. I keep mine dimmed down quite a bit. The headphone passthrough is a nice touch, at the cost of a cable that's bigger than it really should be. In the end, I'm judging this based on typing, since it's a keyboard after all. As with other razor mice/keyboards I've tried, the hardware is so nice that it makes up for their hideous/awful software driver interface, which seems to be designed by 12 year olds for 12 year olds, at the expense of any sort of good design or usability. Once setup, you rarely have to revisit the setting anyway, so I'm not knocking on it except for this review. This is a SOLID keyboard, just what I hoped for.

At first I was skeptical as to whether it would be worth it to buy the keyboard for a whopping $140, but after I brought it and used it, I have absolutely no regrets whatsoever. It's a very nice gaming keyboard indeed. A bit heavy on the price side but with all the added benefits, it's worth it.

Very nice keyboard....had to replace my Microsoft Sidwinder, and this one met my needs. Only knock I could give it, is when you are not totally PC comfortable, and need to see what each key represents on characters, a little light is needed, but other than that, good to go so far

Right out of the box this keyboard felt great. It is sturdy, the cord is braided, and they keys feel great. It is easy to quickly execute actions mid game as the keys are fast and responsive, and the tactile feel of them is great for typing. Overall it is a great keyboard.

For the price I would expect an excellent keyboard ... which apart from a few hmmm not well thought out features ... is what you get.
The negatives first ... with the backlight feature there's no issue seeing the keyboard in the dark ... trouble is I found the font used on each key, given the green backlight rather hard to read. As a veteran of 1980's and 90's mechanical keyboards I would not recommend spilling anything on it ... period. My son spilled soda on his and pphhht ... no more keyboard (which is because it's an old fashioned mechanical chassis with fancy tech).
Now for the good stuff ... the character selection and response is immediate, so what you press is there as fast as you want it. It has more than enough programmable keys and extension / splitter cables for you to hook it up to anything you may need. Also, if you're into colours and bling it has multiple colours for the keys and I've even seen split selections.

Although I don't have my gaming PC built just yet I wanted to get a mechanical keyboard anyway. I love the green glow and the responsiveness of the keys. I also love the sound of a mechanical keyboard as I type. As a coder I love it!

Feels great and has amazing response times augmented by the clickity-clack. I haven't used macros or different profiles with this keyboard, but if they work as well as they do with the Tartarus then there are no issues there.

This keyboard is prefect for gaming. The keys reaction time is excellent and it is easy to install. It has many nice features that you can program to your liking. I also love the sound that the keys make when I am typing or gaming.
