This is an excellent overall laptop. Primarily of interest to gamers but also for multi media applications. A bit pricey but very satisfying to use. Beautiful slim form factor housing very powerful cpu and gpu combination. Downside is that it will run hot and fans will kick in under higher loads. To put performance in perspective, here are times for encoding a ripped dvd movie (same movie) on different platforms I’ve owned. 2010 MacBook Pro 13 Core 2 Duo 16GB RAM - 38 minutes. 2015 MacBook Pro 15 i7 4-core with AMD 16 GB RAM - 14 minutes. 2018 Razer Blade 15 i7 6-core with GTX1070 16 GB RAM - 5 minutes. Battery life under high load is 1 to 2 hours and under normal MS Office/web browsing duty is about 6 to 7 hours. So if performance in multimedia and gaming is important and so is having a beautifully machined, high quality, light weight, conservative-looking laptop then you will live with the downside of heat generation and battery life (plug it in when under high load). No regrets.

    Great Gaming PC

I have had the PC for a little over a week now and am pleased with the laptop. I wanted something with a look and feel of a Macbook but actually capable of playing PC games at decent settings. This meets that and more. It is compact and fairly light. It does run hot but I never rest it on my lap to not much of a problem. The fan noise can get a little loud but not so loud that it overpowers the speakers. I don't know about the battery life as I rarely go unplugged, but I was able to do work (non-gaming) for 3 hours with plenty of battery left. The reason for the four stars is that I wish the screen were brighter and I wish they could have included an SD card reader.

Used for about 10 months. Great laptop for the price and for quality. Really slim bezels design. Giving it a 4 star because towards the ending of may started having some trouble with the laptop. Especially with memory blue screen errors. I had bought the geek squad protection plan for it (3years) and it ended up covering a full replacement for the money via in store credit.

So, all in all, this is a really nice laptop that you can play games and do other things. The battery life is very good while using it for daily tasks (browsing, downloading, etc, <-- sometimes it shows me as having 6+ hours left) and gaming batter life is pretty good as well (<-- haven't fully tested this yet but so far it feels pretty good). Ok, ,so this has both an onboard GPU and a discrete GPU and it SHOULD switch between the two depending on the graphical demands of the app. So far it seems pretty good at switching but I set up certain apps to use the discrete GPU only. Obviously battery life would be affected with the discrete vs onboard so your mileage will vary. I ought the 144Hz version running at 1920x1080. Let's be honest here, at this resolution at the distance you're sitting (@ ~28" <-- if you're sitting too close you may need a larger screen or lower your resolution and if you're sitting much farther, you mmay as well get a desktop instead) anything higher isn't necessary. Plus it's a laptop so it's not going to be your main gaming system, anyway. And if you were to use it as your main system, I'd recommend getting the Core with a better GPU and then run at through an external monitor at your choice resolution (monitor permitting). Otherwise, you'll be amazed at the 144Hz display. And here you thought 60FPS was nice...wait until you see it running at 144Hz. So buttery smooth. This fact kinda trumps 4K, in my opinion. Memory, HDD, and whtever else is all upgradeable. You unscrew a few buttons and things pop out and is user replaceable. Mine came with 16B of RAM and it's upgradeable to 32GB (per Razer support to which I will test out at a later date). HDD can be upgraded to whatever you can afford (mine came wit 512GB). The trackpad is a decent size and it works as intended. The laptop has speakers on both sides of the keyboard which gives you a nice stereo sound. The keyboard, meh. It feels nice but requires too much pressure to activate and doesn't have enough travel (to me). Sure, it has Chroma effects and you can control it with the software but it doesn't feel as good as say an Apple MacBook. It would be nice if the keys required a little less pressure to activate. That's about all I can think of. If there are any questsions, feel free to comment. I would recommend the laptop if you're a diehard Razer fan. If you didn't notice, there are other brands out there that make similarly thin with gaming in mind, and some others even have an RGB keyboard as well. If you're not a diehard Razer fan, you will still enjoy the build quality and exceptional sound; I decided to go with Razer because between the other laptops, I prefer the Razer construction and build over the others. Your decision may vary so don't buy it just cuz you read it in a review...do your research and make the plunge. Plus i had their older 14" QHD touchscreen so this was an upgrade to that...

Purchased a Blade 14 around Feb which it started to overheat at a point that it kept turning off by itself, then I got the Blade 15 the charger started to make a weird noise plus they even sent me the GTX 1060 model when I paid for the GTX 1070 and when I received the GTX 1070 one the charger completely died and the Mini DP was losing connection.

Dead Pixels out of the box

My Razer Blade was delivered today, I un-boxed it and booted the the system , I could immediately see 2 dead pixels out of the box and then the light bleed on the lower left hand corner was unacceptable. I contacted Razer they wanted me to ship the unit back to them and then wait for this one to return or a replacement. I decided not to go that route and this evening on my way home from work I’ll be stopping by Best Buy to return. I was so excited when it arrived and equally as disappointed when I could see the defects in the screen. My first thought , paid a premium price for laptops hat is supposed to be the premium windows based machine that in the end suffers from poor quality control when it packaged for retail sale. The kicker in all of this is they don’t want you to return it to the retail vendor if it’s defective they prefer it to go back to them and I wonder if this is an effort to reduce the possible negative reviews.

After purchasing this computer, within a week, it managed to break its own screen. Making the laptop thinner is good, yet, it also made it too fragile. Not to mention that the system is constantly crashing and blue screen, the experience was abysmal. I do NOT recommend this product.

An okay laptop for gamers and college students

I recently got the Razer Blade 15 in the hopes that I would be able to bring it to college to be able to both use Microsoft Word and other study tools, as-well as game on it whenever I had free-time. Unfortunately, the laptop has it's flaws, and there are alot of them. When I first received the laptop, everything seemed fine, but as two weeks went by, I began to notice the flaws in the laptop, and is the reason I'll be returning it. Pro's: - Great for gaming with the Nvidia 1070. Con's: - Horrible display which makes text blurry and very hard to read. - The blade itself is a huge fingerprint magnet, and it's hard to get the fingerprints off. - Battery life is horrible if you plan on using it for more than two hours. - The laptop thermal throttles under normal gaming use, so undervolting is a must. - The display has somewhat bad backlight bleed (Better than what others had, but still an annoyance). I really wanted to love the Razer Blade 15, despite all of the complaints that I heard, but unfortunately it's just a product that isn't ready to be released yet in it's broken state.

I got a good unit and I'm happy with it

I can't compliment this unit enough, so I just had to write a review on it. I'm so glad I bought a Razer Blade 15 instead of competing laptops suitable for gaming, which are mostly heavier and have equal or worse build quality. Razer's Blade 15 2018 is a great laptop in terms of performance, and the model I got had no defects. I'm really happy overall and I don't think you should avoid this laptop out of fear of it having defects. If the specs and price fit your needs, go ahead and buy it - you will love it.

Super powerful, super slim, super computer

This machine is a very unique computer. It has the power to do creative work, and GPU to game solidly on it's 144HZ panel, and has style to boot. This computer is seriously the most beautiful PC that I have ever seen, but sadly is still the fingerprint magnet that all Razer laptops are. It is a Blade through and through. Yes, it gets loud when being pushed, but it doesn't throttle at all and actually doesn't get crazy hot. At least the unit I have doesn't. I would love to see what a re-paste with Liquid Metal would do. The 144HZ Panel is fantastic, although the unit I had suffered from bad screen bleeding. Battery life for me is solid. Battery saver stretches the use out for the day for me. Speakers are weak and are the biggest problem that I have with this system. The keyboard is more shallow than the Blade Pro, but feel fantastic to type on. All in all, I have to say that I think this is a fantastic laptop to get work done with and play games when you get a chance.

Great computer but not so great keyboard

Great screen, fast, and built well. I wanted to keep the computer but I could not get use to the keyboard. The awkward arrow keys caused many frustrating mistakes and text deletions. For the price the keyboard was a deal breaker, too expensive for such a simple flaw. I will get another one with they fix the keyboard layout.
