MacBook quality build, but known for some QA issues. Mine had coil whine for a few months. Now I get occasional memory errors as one of the sticks has gone faulty.

Little/No Compromise Gaming Laptop

As an incoming college student, I was looking for a new laptop as my old one was getting outdated. I didn't want to bring my gaming pc to my dorm, so I started looking for laptops that would be up to my standards.
Ultrabooks and Convertibles were too weak. I narrowed it down to XPS 15, Surface Book 2, or Gaming Laptops.
XPS 15 had a GTX 1650 and would thermal throttle when playing games and the XPS line has some issues like DPC latency and other things
Surface Book 2 would not provide enough power to charge and play.
Then gaming laptops would almost always have a compromise. Whether it be the GPU, Display, Battery, Weight, Thickness, Aesthetic, keyboard, touchpad, ports, and a whole bunch of other things.
I wanted a laptop with at least a GTX 1060 MQ, 15.6" 1080p 144Hz Display, A battery with a rating of at least 65WHr, Less than 5 lbs, 1' thin or less, No design that screamed ultra gamer, good keyboard w/out Numpad, big touchpad, lots of ports.
Due to issues of XPS 15 and Surface Book 2 and compromises of the large variety of gaming laptops, I narrowed my search to MSI GS65 Stealth, Aero 15x, and Razer Blade 15.
Razer came out on top due to build quality, design, and thinness.
This laptop is amazing. It can run any game at 1080p @ Ultra and will be 100+ FPS and in this form factor. Due to the RTX 2060
The display is amazing. Good colors. It has HDR video. and 144Hz. Plenty bright.
Has an 80WHr battery. With battery settings optimized for battery life. I get 7 hours of battery life when doing my school work.
The weight was 4.6 lbs and that's not much heavier than an XPS 15 or MBP 15", so that was a great plus. With the charger, it's only 6.2 lbs
0.7" thin. Great design and build quality.
Windows Hello with the IR camera is amazing and very fast. The webcam is placed at the top, but it's horrible.
The speakers are pretty good. They're better than a lot of laptops with bottom-firing speakers. These are at the top right next to the keyboard. If it's music, you'll have no problem having it loud enough to enjoy it, but it's not loud enough to annoy people in your apartment or anything. If it's like Youtube, I use a chrome extension that boosts the volume of the Youtube video.
The keyboard is pretty good, but some key placement is weird.
My touchpad sensitivity is kind of insane at low sensitivity and sometimes doesn't reject my palm.
The fans on auto are pretty quiet. Sometimes not noticeable. On idle, temps are 30-50. But if you want to keep your laptop <80C when playing games, you want it on max fan speed.
When playing games, its barely acceptable to touch the laptop. Which is why I recommend max fan speed, give enough ventilation, and an AC'd room, and your temps will be 70C. But just plug in a kb/m
Build quality is amazing. It's aluminum and feels extremely high quality. At first glance, it doesn't look like a gaming laptop.
Only thing I would do differently maybe get the Black Model because it showed gamer aesthetic a bit more. With Mercury White, the razer logo can only be seen at a certain angle. The only way people would tell is if you keep the RTX sticker, they see the logo, or see the RGB keyboard(amazing)
I don't regret my purchase at all, but it was kinda pricey at $2200

Awesome Gaming Laptop - With a Suspected Defect

As a preface, I purchased a Open Box - Satisfactory Razer Mercury Advance. For me, I didn't need the box and accessory because eventually I would just throw them away. However, when I received the product, it was in original box with all accessory (stickers, manuals, and cleaning cloth). There was no noticeable scratches. If Best Buy didn't rate it a Satisfactory, I would have thought it was Excellent. I knew the warranty was still had at least 11 mths because the this model only came out in January 2019. Anyway, I had to return it because it had this annoying buzzing sound coming from the laptop. It was not the fans or the speakers. It sounded more like a electrical buzzing sound. Like the sound that a high powered electrical line emits. I have a video but no way to upload for this review. Also, the WiFi did not work out of the box. It was an easy fix. I replaced the windows WiFi drivers with the official Intel WiFi drivers. The last issue I had with the Razer, is the power brick is a monster. It feels like it weighs more than the Razer. The cords are sturdy but very stiff so it does not wrap up very nicely. The whole reason for buying a laptop is for mobility. Anyway, overall the laptop is good (4 star) and could be worth the premium price. I settle with a G65 Stealth RTX 2060, however the G65 does not have the physical well built feel of the Razer.

I CAN'T LIVE WITH IT

This is an amazing laptop. It's fast, it's beautiful, but it is NOT premium. It's like the girl you dated that was gorgeous and fun but has only half her teeth. There are so many small problems in the design of this computer... if you are used to high quality product like Huawei, HP, Dell, Microsoft, or Apple... you'll start off happy but then gradually get annoyed! Here are the problems:
- Screen brightness is extremely dim (260 nits - that's circa 2014 brightness)
- The sound is tinny, which is unforgivable considering how huge the speaker grills are
- The right angle power adapter cables (on both sides) always seem to get in the way and often yank the laptop dangerously
- the white keys have a porous surface which tend to capture oils and they wear quickly, starting from the first day
- the glass trackpad tends to stick on the bottom left and right corners, making a kind of friction sound
These are just a few of the fit and finish problems with this laptop. But you will find the most infuriating thing is (picture included) the STUPIDLY PLACED UP BUTTON.
If you are a touch typer, and you use other keyboards (work, school, or anywhere), this keyboard will screw you up when you try to use the right shift key. I had to eventually use a macro to turn the up key into a copy of the right shift key because I kept hitting it, even when I was conscious of it. This single issue has completely RUINED this device as a primary productivity device. Think of all the times you use an exclamation mark or the @ symbol... maybe the $ sign? Imagine while typing your input goes up a line or takes you to a different field altogether.... IT'S INFURIATING on a laptop this expensive. It's like... they completely disregarded anyone that can touch type, and that's practically everyone.
I'm NOT okay with a $2300 laptop forcing me to "get used to" the bad design. You could easily buy a G series Dell, Alienware, MSI, or HP and not have these stupid issues. I hope that Huawei makes a gaming/performance laptop because this Razer Blade 15 2019 is a DISASTER.

This laptop truly is a great device. It does what I need it to do- it's fast and gives me great performance on games that I play on 1440p. The fans a bit loud when playing games, but that's common for thin and light gaming laptops. Very happy with my purchase!

MacBook like hardware experience. They keyboard I above average for a laptop, not the best but still very good. The trackpad is the best I've used on a Windows device. Plenty of IO options, thunderbolt included.
The screen is excellent. I was wondering if 1080p wouldn't be high res enough, but at 15 inches it's pretty sharp. The 144hz screen is a must have.
An undervolt is required for these machines, only con really. After an undervolt, repaste of thermal paste, I stopped thermal throttling in benchmark testing. Those two things on top of tweaking battery settings I can get 7 hours of battery life easy, and if I really baby the machine I can get over 9 hours. That's just light browsing and editing documents.
Overall great machine, highly recommend.

Unfortunately I haven't had the laptop for too long to determine whether its all ok with it or not. It seems like a very powerful laptop however it heats up really fast and way too much. I don't do much with it yet, just browsing and watched some videos, that's all. Imagine when I start the heavy use.

Primarily got a laptop that could work with videos almost as fast as a desktop and this one fills the bill. Doesn't even hiccup on videos that my 3-year old laptop would almost choke on. The only issue that I had was the screen on the first one I bought stopped working in about a week. But, the Best Buy Tech was really surprised by this as Razers are so reliable. They replaced the old one without hassle. But the first one worked great until the screen issue, so I'm not going to give it a downgrade....just a heads up to potential buyers.

This thing has it all packed into a sleek new look. I have had this thing for over a month now, and I am ecstatic with my decision. Granted my last laptop was over 5 years old, but this thing beats it hands down in all areas. Super quiet even when fans kick in and the heat during intense gaming is understandable. I would definitely recommend and would purchase again.

I purchased this model as an open box item. It turned on as if it were factory reset and booting for the first time (which is a huge plus on making me FEEL like I purchased new). I was happy with the silver color, although the black is a much bolder look. I went through the basic installs of windows, ms office, iTunes, etc. After downloading all windows updates I saw a low battery icon. Usually this wouldn't be alarming. However, my laptop was plugged into the wall at this time and was not charging the laptop's internal battery. I tried updating drivers, fully restored the machine - the works. The laptop was smooth and the design is amazing. The only drawback of this model RTX is it only has 6GB of RAM. This will allow you to play on "High" settings in AAA games with decent frame rate, but it won't allow you to play on "Ultra" settings at all. This was also another Achilles heel I quickly found after the fact. I'll also be the first to officially say this version performs nearly identically on "High" settings in 1080p at 144Hz resolution as the 2070 or 2080 versions. If you have no interest in going beyond full HD 1080p at 144Hz then you don't need to spend any more for the 2070/2080 versions. All in all a great machine for the money! I would highly recommend a NEW version of this laptop. Open box is hit or miss but Razer is the Windows version of Mac Book Pro with less limitation and better value per dollar.

Excellent build quality. The laptop looks very professional after switching the RGB lighting to a simple white color and changing the desktop background to the default Windows 10--much better looking than the black-red gaming laptops that seem widely popular these days. CPU runs HOT under stress, but I believe thermal repasting and undervolting can help resolve this.

Some pros:
Graphics are great
Doesn't get too hot
Keyboard and mousepad are super responsive
load time on OS is quick
Really sleek design
cons -
I/o port for headphones has been questionable
Bluetooth connection has been spotty at times
**I only used 1 device per con, so I think it might just be my stupid headphones and not the pc
Overrall: Totally worth the money.

Folks you do not need a 2070 or 2080 on a laptop. If you do you need a desktop then. Upset about how much more it cost than another model? ASUS ? 1 strip of 16 gig ram. Why? Hp ? Why ? Msi ? Ok now really... it costs what it does because of quality parts and upgrade path and no bs parts to begin with. This is why apple cost more __quality and this is the best you can get on the pc side of the world...only Microsoft comes close but not with the higher end parts. I have no issues with anything on this machine. If I want 2080 performance, I would not be doing it on a 1080p laptop 15 inch panel. The card matches the laptop and screen limits perfectly. If I want faster I can buy a CORE with a video card. At least that would equal the extra 600. Nuff said...oh and it’s silver...last word...ever open a laptop screen lid and the whole machine comes up? I tried them all. I know picky ...but quality means y0u open the lid and the machine stays on the desk lol

Okay, I've owned the CPU long enough now to give an honest and fair review. This laptop is amazing. I mainly use it for web based gaming and personal web browsing. I carry this with me when at work, and it obviously blows my work laptop out of the water.
The guys at the local BestBuy helped me decide what brand of CPU I was most suited for and what I was willing to spend. For value, we did not decide Razer was the best option. They actually recommended an MSI. However, they had this CPU in the back as an old display model. I was hesitant but surprised how flawless this PC was. There weren't even any fingerprints on it. With the open box discount, I got the exact CPU I wanted for a hefty discount.
It is safe to say that I am pleased with my purchase. I am able to run my game clients on Ultra graphics, watch high def vids online, and it all comes packaged in a crisp White Aluminum body.
I would highly recommend this laptop to anyone that has the money to spend. Though there are cheaper options, I think it would be pretty hard to beat this setup.

This is the best laptop I have ever used. The packaging alone was almost breathtaking. It was presented so beautifully. After unboxing this this beast and starting it up it just got better. This laptop was super fast and played every game I threw at it without issues.
