The device ran super hot while playing Final Fantasy XIV to the point where it was noticeably burning my wrists.
Unless you absolutely need a laptop, get a gaming desktop instead!

Very very overpriced for what you get. MSI is going to eat their lunch this year.

Initially, I purchased a razer 15 open box and had issues with the camera. For some reason it was not detected and drivers could not be installed. I contacted Razer tech support at my house and after troubleshooting they determined the unit should be replaced.
I went back to BestBuy and was very surprised that they had no questions and swapped it out on the spot for a brand new unopened one. I understand that sometimes things happen and there may be issues with products and I have to say that both Razer and BestBuy's support in this case was outstanding.
Now the new one, absolutely amazing. I am coming from a MacBook pro 13 and then a Huawei mate book x pro. I had been on Mac for 10 years but they have been disappointing recently and the 2016 Macbook pro I had was filled with all sorts of trouble Transitioning to windows was my next step and the matebook x pro didn't disappoint but couldn't handle games.
The Razer 15 handles anything I have thrown at it so far without issue. Games run outstanding and I can run dual displays and there is no reduction in framerate. The build quality and appearance is truly impressive. That and the trackpad are on point with the new MacBook pros.
I personally believe that if you are looking for a powerful do anything notebook that is still portable and discrete this is the best one on the market.

Perfect if you win the Razer lottery

Here is the deal. If you win the Razer lottery you can have an absolutely amazing gaming laptop here. The first one we got had HORRIBLE coil whine. I mean LOUD. It gave me horrible headaches while using the system. Thermals were absolutely perfect on this system though and so was the lack of backlight bleed. It was completely silent (fans) at idle other than the coil whine. Undervolting resolved that, but who wants to have to do that on a $2300 computer right? So I exchanged it. The second had a blown right speaker. The third has coil whine again, and the fans are audible at idle. At full load they aren't horrible, but the temps are at 98C on the CPU and 79C on the GPU while playing Fortnite. ONE game of Fortnite. I am giving up on this for now. It is so much better than the 14 was a few years ago. I am going to come back to Razer in a few years and hopefully they are even better than they are now.

I originally purchased the MSI GS65 RTX 2060 for work and play, and it was a good laptop, but it had a fatal flaw for me; the trackpad. The Razer's trackpad is so much better and doesn't take so much force to press down.
In addition to a much better build, it's also quieter, and the fans run less during day to day tasks. The MSI would go hair dryer from time to time randomly.
All in all the extra money for Windows Hello, better build, trackpad, and better styling, and FN key layout, I couldn't be happier.

Coming from a brand new 2018 Macbook Pro 15" with the Radeon 560X dedicated GPU, I am blown away. I was not expecting the gaming performance that I am getting. Able to run everything in Ultra with FPS 80+ for most games. Built like an Apple product. Who said gaming laptops had to be ugly?! First Razer product, definitely will not be my last. Love the Mercury White, I would not be able to handle the Black with the finger prints.

Great Gaming and Productivity Machine!!!

This is the nicest Windows laptop I've used! In short, if you're looking for an awesome portable gaming machine, I would definitely recommend it!
My primary computer is a 2016 15" Macbook Pro but I picked this up for some gaming and a bit of video game development. I've had the laptop for about a week and I'm loving it so I've decided to leave a review. I will make a few comparisons to my Macbook Pro throughout my review.
FIT & FINISH: Very Good. The chassis feels very solid and doesn't flex. The computer has very substantial rubber feet on the bottom to elevate the machine a bit for cooling. It's kind of ugly, especially compared to the round black rubber feet found on most Apple laptops. However, they are functional so I can't complain too much. All of the ports seem to be very solid and cables don't wiggle while plugged in.
DISPLAY: Great. 1080p@60Hz while gaming on this 15" screen is great! Reading text on websites and other applications is sharp enough. Colors are very vibrant, the matte finish prevents any day-time reflections from getting in the way of getting work done. I like this display as much as my higher-resolution 15" Macbook Pro display.
KEYBOARD: Good. The keys are small compared to a 15" Macbook Pro. The key travel feels nice, but I wish the keys were just a bit larger for productivity reasons. I've gotten used to typing on it after a few days. The RGB backlighting is a very cool feature and I like that the function keys and symbols are all backlit in this model.
TOUCHPAD: Excellent. As good as the Surface Book 2, I believe. The click is not as satisfying as a Macbook Pro touchpad, but the touchpad works very well, even with Windows gestures.
PERFORMANCE: Excellent. The RTX 2060 in this machine is a BEAST! I've been playing Apex Legends, Fortnite, and Battlefield V at both 1080p and 1440p (on an external monitor) for the last several days. At 1080p resolution, I've been able to play Apex Legends with everything on Ultra settings and I'm averaging around 90fps. At 1440p resolution, I've been able to play Apex Legends with everything on Ultra settings and I can maintain 60fps (my monitor's refresh rate is only 60Hz). I believe I could push more frames. No complaints about the gaming performance of this machine. It's excellent.
WEBCAM: Very Good. Windows Hello is awesome. It doesn't work super well when I have a baseball cap on, but otherwise it unlocks the computer every time. Windows Hello is a really convenient feature.
BATTERY LIFE: Good. I've averaged about 5 hours or so while doing some text editing and browsing the web. This is with the laptop on battery saver mode and screen brightness quite dim. The battery life can't compare to my Macbook Pro, but it's good enough for a thin and light portable gaming machine!
OVERALL: Very Good. This is the nicest Windows machine I've used. If you want some serious gaming power in a compact laptop, I would recommend this!
