    Too flawed for the price

I’ve owned multiple Razer products, including headsets, and I’ve loved everything from that company. I was excited for the Kaira Pro because I loved the idea of force feedback in the headset. However, while I desperately wanted to love this headset, I cannot recommend it, especially at this price point. I should note that you can use this headset with PC, PS5 or as a Bluetooth headset for your phone. I myself used it only for my PS5 and phone. IN THE BOX The box is compact and protects the headset. Inside is the headset, the microphone (which is removable, it plugs in what I will call an audio jack), the USB-C wireless adapter, a USB-A to USB-C charging cable and a USB extending cable. In typical Razer fashion, all of the cables are braided and high quality. DESIGN AND BUILD QUALITY As I said, the Kaira Pro is built well like virtually all Razer products. It’s made mostly of plastic which keeps it light, but it feels premium. The ear cushions are large and feel extremely comfortable. It just feels nice for lack of a better word. It looks great as well, matching the PS5 aesthetics. It’s white and black on the outside and blue is inside the ear cups. It looks great. There are a lot of buttons and several dials on the headset. I found them a little daunting at first, because when I was using them I forgot what buttons did what and I had to find them by feel, but after a little time, I memorized where everything was. There’s a dial for side tone (so you can hear yourself) the volume, slide button to mute microphone, a button to switch between headset and connect to your phone and yet another button to turn on/off the RGB lights and rumble features. I’ll just add that it’s extremely comfortable to wear, which is a plus. FEATURES This comes packed with features. I mentioned sidetone, which I’m a big fan of, as well as the ability to switch between your phone (if you get a call) and your PS5. But the one that gave me the most excitement - and ultimately disappointment - was the vibration feature in the headset. I love the rumble features in the Dualshock 5 and was excited to experience it in the headset. Another small feature is the audio cues when you’re turning it on/off or changing audio profiles. When you turn it on a voice tells you the power is on, and when you switch the audio profiles, you’re told which one you’re on. This is a small, but very much appreciated design inclusion. You can also change the EQ of the sound, but you have to both download the Razer Audio app on your phone and connect it via Bluetooth. Once connected with the app open you can adjust the EQ settings under the Custom profile. I must admit, I found this to be extremely unuseful. I’m no audiophile, and there were some 10 sliders that you can alter. But I didn’t have any sound to test the changes. I played some music, but that doesn’t help me when I’m trying to finetune the sound for playing on the PS5. I do sometimes get calls during my gaming session and while the headset doesn’t allow you to talk on the phone AND hear your game at the same time, keeping your headset on does beat taking it off to answer your phone. All you need to do is hit the switch button and you can take the call while you continue playing. SOUND QUALITY I want to break up my comments between the sound and the microphone into two. I found the sound to be pretty good, but the microphone was a different issue. Just playing a single player game, I found the default sound settings to be adequate. There wasn’t a lot of bass, but I found the sound to be accurate. The FPS setting was nice because you could hear footsteps (it takes down the bass levels). I want to add that the 3D audio that the PS5 is known for, worked well. You could hear all around your character. I didn’t find too much to distinguish between the sound quality among the profiles other than the FPS setting which, as I said, drops the bass down. All in all, the sound quality was pretty good, I really didn’t have any complaints there. I didn’t think it was any better or any worse than my PS5 Astro model. MICROPHONE This is the part that I can’t really get past. When I switched from my Astro headset to the Razer Kaira Pro, I got tons of complaints from my friends when chatting on PS5. They said it sounded like I was in a box. I moved the microphone closer to my mouth but all that did was make me sound louder, inside that box. Granted, I can’t really hear myself, but when my friends are complaining about how I sound, I take notice. Sure, they could hear me, but the point is that for $200 I expect to sound great on the other end of the line so to speak. This was basically a deal breaker for me. HAPTIC FEEDBACK I want to specifically mention the haptic feedback because it’s the first time I wore a gaming headset that vibrated. It has 3 different levels of vibration. While at first it’s cool, and makes the bass seem deeper, it becomes an issue after a while. Forget about the highest vibration setting, as it’s too annoying and distracting. At the lowest setting, however, it was still distracting. Call of Duty, for example, was cool at first. Feeling the explosions was an additional level of immersion. It was neat. But after a bit it was a bit annoying. When my friends talked however, was when I turned it off. It vibrates whenever my friends talk, so when I’m playing Call of Duty with my friends, it seems like it was constantly vibrating. Almost made my friends talking sound like it was reverberating and not natural speech. It got to the point where you felt like you were hearing motors vs feeling the feedback. I ultimately turned it off. CONCLUSION At $200, I simply cannot recommend this headset. The audio quality is fine, but the microphone quality is its achilles heel. And if the vibrations didn’t become so annoying or noticeable, it might have overcome my complaints about the microphone but it doesn’t. Because I turned that off too. It’s really comfortable, but there are just as good sounding headphones at a cheaper price point.

Got a pair on sale and are now my go to headphones. the haptic adds a whole other layer of emmersion . I dont play for longer than 4 to 5 hours at a time so battery life is not an issue for me but i understand others play for longer periods of time. works on the switch too but the mic doesnt work for chat based games. My neice tried them to play fortnite with my son and she asked her parents for a pair and got some too because she loved the sound , haptics and color variations of the logo rgb lighting. Some people may say they feel cheap but the are made of light material to wear for long periods of time.

PC Gamer Here & Love This Headset

I'll start off by saying that I am a bit of a snob when it comes to a good headset. I have a partial hearing loss in one ear so having a headset that sounds great in both ears is a tough find for me. I tried a few different headsets prior to finding this gem. The whole reason I started to look for a new headset was because of issues with my, at the time, current headset which was an HP Omen. I loved everything about the HP Omen with the exception of its product life. After using the HP Omen for about a year, something started messing up with the microphone and I finally stopped trying to fix it. The very next set I tried was the steelseries Arctis 7P+. I liked how the headband felt with this headset. I didn't like how the speakers set on the ear instead of over the ear. At times, I had the volume all the way up on the headset and game and still had trouble hearing it. The bass was really weak on the Arctis 7P+ as well. Finally, I landed on the Razer - Kaira Pro. I found this model sitting in the Playstation section of BB. After looking at the specs, it said it was PC compatible and the signature Playstation colors are applied in a subtle way. I especially like the matte white shell. The sound provided by the over the ear speakers is great. There are several preset modes or you can make your own profile. I typically play on Amplified. One feature I thought was really unique was how Razer could simulate deep bass sounds with manipulating low vibrations. This feature really makes you feel in the game. You can set the intensity between: off, low, medium, high. I typically play on low. The active noise cancelling is impressive. My gaming rig is setup in a corner of a big room next to the air condition return air duct. When the air is running, it sounds like I am sitting on a runway watching planes takeoff. Razer's Kaira Pro has noise cancelling tech that is up there with the best of the best. When I'm gaming or using them to talk on the phone, no one can hear the air return I am sitting next to. When it comes to size, I don't have a problem saying my ears aren't the smallest. Luckily, when it comes to comfort, the Kaira headset can be worn for hours and hours (first hand experience) and be comfortable the whole time. Needless to say I am a huge fan of these. I never tried a Razer headset before and was hesitant to this time. Now, I am asking myself why it took so long to switch to something elite.

    Comfortable, Great Sounding Gaming Headset

Razer's Kaira Pro Headset brings wireless mobility and great sounding audio into one package. Geared towards gamers, the RGB lighting, HyperSense sound, and relatively long battery life are some nice features included in the headset. Razer's headset comes with the headset itself, a USB C wireless receiver dongle, a USB C to USB A adapter (to connect the wireless dongle to devices that don't have a USB C port), a USB C cable for charging (not a wall adapter), and a removable 3.5mm aux Supercardioid microphone. The headset has multiple buttons for different functions and proves to be very useful when in use. Buttons for muting the microphone, sliders to control the headset volume and HyperSense feature level, a button for switching from 2.4GHz wireless to Bluetooth, and another for adjusting the RGB color setting for the Razer logo on the outside of each earcup. The only thing missing is a button for someone bringing me a drink during an intense game session. Although the headset itself is plastic, where the head band and earcups touch, is a nice brushed aluminum-look band. The earcups are surrounded in leatherette material although the earcup tips (the part that touches your head) are a cloth-like material. After using them for some time, I noticed this caused my skin to sweat less as compared to using a headset where the earcups are entirely made of leatherette. As for the headband, the top middle also has cloth like material while the rest is hard plastic. Overall, the headset was comfortable throughout long gaming sessions and Idid not experience any discomfort after hours of use. The Kaira Pro Headset features connecting to consoles or devices via either connecting the USB C dongle or via Bluetooth. In the instance of using them on a PS5, after connecting the Razer dongle to a USB C port on the front of the PS5, it instantly connected. After connecting them to the PS5, I then tested its Bluetooth capability with my phone and found that by double tapping/pressing the button to switch from wireless to Bluetooth, I was able to switch modes easily. I could listen in on where my dongle was connected or via Bluetooth almost instantaneously. The connectivity mode button also has extra functions and allows for you to change the EQ setting of the audio by pressing it down twice and also allows for you to enable the "Gaming Mode" for lower latency audio by holding the button down for a few seconds. EQ settings include Default, Enahanced Bass, Amplified, FPS, and custom EQ settings that can be configured through Razer's Audio app for Android and iPhone devices. Through each time I used the Kaira Pro, I loved how great the audio sounded. From the crashing of cars, bass thumping from bumping into soccer balls, and friends cheering, to silent steps being heard in a hallway from enemies while camping in a building, it all sounded amazing. Razer's HyperSense feature does add an extra "oomph" to audio by adding depth via lower frequency bass. As objects in games were far and began to come closer, the bass would gradually increase (in the case of cars hitting a soccer ball from a farther distance vs when nearby). In testing the microphone audio, my voice sounded clear and background noise was little to nonexistent. Players and friends could hear shouts of excitement and not those of my kids from running around the house nearby. Being a cardioid mic, sound is mainly captured from the front and sides, hardly any sound from the back part of the microphone. Battery life wise, Razer rates the Kaira Pro to last 50 hours without HyperSense and RGB lighting on and only 11 hours with both on. For my personal preference, I like to keep both on and noticed similar results to Razer's. After multiple late night gaming sessions lasting several hours, after a few days I did need to charge them (right under/around using them for 10.5 hours). I also noticed that the headphones can be charged while in use although the HyperSense feature will be disabled to increase charging performance. Overall, I enjoyed playing video games and listening to all of audio details when using Razer's Kaira Pro Headset. The audio being what I personally liked most of all, I recommend it for anyone looking for a great sounding gaming headset not looking to break the bank. Having the ability to choose between a 2.4 GHz connection or Bluetooth, you can use this headset outside of gaming and virtually on any modern device.

Pretty decent headphones. The haptic feedback adds a nice little touch without being too overwhelming. I like the fact that I can hear my own voice through the headphones when I want to. Pretty comfortable but I've never worn them for longer than an hour or so. These are my first gaming headset so I'm not sure if they're worth 200 but if you can get them on sale then I highly recommend

I have my PS5 set up in my upstairs media room with a complete surround sound system, which is nice in theory, until I get in trouble because the kids are trying to go to sleep and I'm still playing. I also have a gaming laptop for Steam, so I figured I would pick up a good set of headphones that could work on both PS5 and Windows, and I've had good look with Razer products before. The overall build quality of these is very nice and solid. From a design aesthetic, it intentionally matches the look of the PS5 and other PS5 accessories. The headset itself fits nicely on my head without exuding too much pressure. My ears did get hot wearing these for a longer play session, but that's expected with over-the-ear headphones. In the box, you get the headphones, a detachable microphone, charging cable, USB-C-to-USB-A adapter, and the USB-C wireless adapter. One of my major gripes about the PS5 is that Sony, for some stupid reason, doesn't allow for BT headphones to pair directly with the console, so you have to connect the USB-C adapter to the USB-C port on the front of the PS5 in order for this to work. There's also various sound modes that you can toggle between while playing. When playing Doom Eternal last, I left it on bass boost so I could get some more punch when I fired rockets. The sound quality on these is nice, but it's not mind blowing. The default sound setting felt a little anemic, higher on the highs, and not enough bass. I've also connected it with my gaming laptop and have found it to sound similar. The fact that the headphones can use BT or the USB-C receiver mean that you can effectively pair it with anything that accepts BT headphones or has an open USB-C port. All in all, these are awesome headphones with a ton of features. There's an optional Razer app that you can download to further customize, but I was able to get them where I wanted without having to use that app - and I was put off by the negative reviews on the iOS App Store, so something to think about later if I'm feeling braver. If you're looking for a solid gaming headset, that's full of features, then the Razer Kaira Pro needs to be in your consideration.

This headset is pretty dang neat. I’ll give it that. As for the usual suspects (features) they’re all good; sound, comfort, different options on the headset, etc. The one major difference is the rumble/vibration on this headset. I know that’s what you came to hear so I got the boring stuff out of the way, lol. Well…it’s cool really cool…for some games. If not only a few. Ok there’s 3 settings for the rumble. Low, med, and a lot! I kept it on “a lot” the whole time I had it after it just felt better to feel the rumble. So to explain myself: take a game like Returnal. The headset doesn’t really do anything for me. I’m games like that I’m so focused on beating enemies and such that, of course I notice the rumble, but its not making the game more…anything. Like fun or immersive or whatever. It’s just there. It’s not like the rumble feature on the DualSense controller or the R2 and L2 buttons which everyone is amazed at when they first try it and go on to at least enjoy the feature once you get used to it. But it’s different for a game like Gran Turismo. Yeah, this is why you buy this headset. See, with the volume cranked up, the rumble cranked up, and the driver seat view you really get the feel of driving in a car going fast around corners and straights etc. See with a headset on, you can kind of hear the wind from outside the car as you drive fast and with the jerking around of the camera slightly and the sound of the inside of the car creaking and rattling because it’s got parts built just for racing (like a roll cage or a full 6 lock belt harness etc)….then add the rumbling to immerse yourself as if all those things along with the car being whipped around the track are making your head shake feels pretty cool and really puts you in the seat. If you have a racing rig and a wheel…it’s a total immersion feel. It’s different from Returnal because the rumbling adds to the game as if it’s a part of the experience. Not just some shaking during big sounds. But that’s it. Certain games will get a lot out of the header’s feature, but overall I didn’t think it was worth the price.

Replaced my broken OG Pulse Elites with the Kaira Pro. I would say the Kaira Pros are the spiritual successor to the Pulse Elite. The Kaira Pros are comfortable, have good highs and lows, and the haptic feedback makes you feel like you’re in the game/movie. The RGB lighting is a nice feature, but you obviously can’t see the lighting when wearing them. The Razer apps that adjust the RGB lighting and EQ took a bit of trial and error to get them to recognize my headset, but once they did they worked well.

The sound clarity is better than Sony's headphones right off the bat. The haptic is pretty cool and adds another level of immersion. The build is comfortable to wear for long periods. Love how effortlessly it is to go from wireless on PS5 to Bluetooth on TV for movies. RGB seems cool for streaming only. Highly recommend using custom EQ settings to get best quality as out-of-box defaults sound a little muffled.

These headsets give a low battery warning that cuts out all audio when the verbal warning is announced. It also does it when its around 30-50% of battery life left. The alert sounds off every couple minutes, so you can imagine the pain it is trying to play amd listen out for teamates and enemies. Excellent build and sound quality but the low battery warning i could live without.
