Customers are saying

Customers are pleased with the Kraken 7.1 Headset's sound quality, comfort, and microphone. Many appreciate the comfortable fit and customizable lighting features, while some found the bass response particularly impressive. However, a shorter cord length and the lack of onboard volume control were common criticisms. Concerns were also raised regarding the headset's weight and software performance.

So I will admit the one driving force behind getting this was the CHROMA aspect of it. but aside from the digital 7.1 surround and the fact that I knew this thing was going to be easy to set up. Like other Razer product set up was as easy as finding a spare USB port on my computer, and these days it's pretty easy to find, and then setting it up on the Synapse. Because I already own a CHROMA Blackwidow and Naga Epic and an Ouroborous I was able to sync my color preference from the other devices to the Kraken. Over all it's a great buy for the price and the fact it's pretty certainly diesn't hurt.

I really liked these headphones. They are comfortable and high quality. The sound was fantastic. Others were able to hear me clearly with the mic.

Love the sound quality, fit and feel of the headset. The mic retracts into the headset so it's out of the way and unobtrusive when not in use

My Razer headset was well over three years old and had seen plenty of wear and tear in its lifetime. I had gotten my fiance a Kraken pro for his birthday and decided to finally take the plunge and purchase myself my own pair. The headset fits my head like a glove, yet is super comfy. Even with my large head :P. They are great at cancelling out outside sounds to the point I have to remember to talk quieter when I have them on.

This headset is a good choice for the casual user. If you own other Razer Chroma items you will especially like the matching theme they use on the chroma line. The sound is good, but I did notice that the bass is a little heavy and that tends to over power the mid's and high's slightly. I would still say that this is a good value for a start-up user that cares about matching their chroma products. If you are more discerning about your audio performance in headphones, you may want want to consider more expensive headphones. Overall this is a good value for the money.

I used to use (and love) my Bose QC15 noise-cancelling headset for everything - they're still incredible after having owned them for several years, However, I needed a headset with a decent boom microphone as I had some tutorial videos to make. I chose the Razer Kraken 7.1 Chroma and WOW!!!!! The bass on these, when using the special driver supplied by Razer, is really wonderful, deep and powerful and the microphone records great quality sound (I'm also an audiobook narrator which I use professional mics for but the headset was not for that). The comfort is not as good as the Bose which are still the most comfortable to wear for hours (I'm a software developer and wear the headphones all day to cut out distractions and to pump out tunes while I code) - but the Krakens are really the next best thing out of all the headsets I've tried. I've now swapped to using the Krakens full time and the Bose for things like traveling. Cannot say enough good things about the Kraken headset - I'm a definite convert!

My husband I use these for our gaming. Our issue is a bit different as we play in the same room. The issue we have is that we hear ourselves when we talk as the other mic picks up our voice too. Otherwise: The Good: The sound is really good. They hook up via USB so they work great with our HP laptops. The customization for color on the side is a cool feature. The Bad: They tend to hurt your ears after awhile The cord can be really annoying and in your way

THe sound is beautiful. It saved me, my wife would constantly stomp on the floor to have me turn down the audio. Playing GTA and Flight Sims get annoying from afar. No if they could make my voice quieter, she would be really happy.

I might be biased because I love Razer products, but these headphones are absolutely amazing. The sound quality is excellent and the product build finish is great. I love the retractable mic to be put away when not in use along with the mute button. I give it 4 stars because after about a good hour of using the headphones, the area above your ears may start to hurt, but once I adjust it a little bit its comfortable again.

Simoly went with this headset because I've been happy with my other razer products, this is where that ended. It does boast fairly decent build quality, tasteful aesthetics and an alright on board mic, paired with a user friendly UI in the Razer Synapse dashboard, making it a great buy for your' entry level pc gamer making an upgrade from $30 Turtle Beach's. After those points, I've lost my love affair. The Equalizer presets built into Synapse are absolute GARBAGE, and it took me roughly an hour and a half of listening to how audio clips sounded with my Sennheiser headphones, and moving sliders up and down in synapse to get these Krakens to still sound less than what I would call satisfactory at this price point. Other things I didnt like were the lack of on-board volume control, which leaves you glued to the Windows/Synapse Mixer each time a new game or program is launched, and the poor microphone mute button placement. All in all, with a little knowledge in audio and how to make a proper eq profile, these are ample for most. However, I'll probably be pitching these off to a friend and shelling out the extra dough for Sennheisers or Beyerdynamics with far superior drivers and other worldly sound quality.

As the title states, this is by far the best headset I've had. It's very comfortable and the 7.1 surround is awesome for gaming. The initial break in period wasn't bad either. It was comfortable from the start unlike some previous headsets which applied so much pressure I couldn't even use them long enough to break them in. The led logo on the sides is a nice touch too. All around great product.

Amazing sound. Sounds like you are right there. I use them with my PC build and I can hear every footstep and small sound around me. Also use occasionally on my ps4. I'd buy 10 more especially at the price point

Well made headset has great sound and mic for in game chat. I use it for call of duty on my ps4 and the left to right speaker pickup on footsteps is almost the same as my Astros. Only thing I don't like is there is no physical way to turn the volume up or down you have to do it in the ps4 settings!

Headphones do a great job of emulating a true 7.1 setup. Bass is clear and thumps just right, miss and highs are great as well. I haven't used these to listen to music because I bought gaming headphones. In BF4 with sound set to war tapes and surround turned on, I can turn to pin point sounds, vehicles and people. Great pair, liked them enough I purchased a second set for my son.

overall i'm satisfied with the headphones. the audio quality is decent for the price range and the other features more than makes up for some of its shortcomings. the color adjustment on the LED is a bonus. the good: decent sound, surround is not the best but it works, the over-the-ear cups block a good amount of noise. has been good for general audio as well as movie/gaming which is what i purchased it for. the bad: quite large, they may look goofy on smaller or narrow head shapes. VERY slight hiss which originates from the led's (disappears if you set to certain colors instead of pulsing or turn it off). other notes: may be it's my ear shape but i seem to get some slight discomfort on my ears whether i have my ears in the cup, or with the cups on my ears. very odd. have to switch the audio device every time i power up my PC. never had to do this with any other device. i was originally looking for a mid-high end real 7.1 surround headphone set but wanted to give these a try due to the decent reviews from other stores and users. i think it can be improved but i've seen far worse for more money. however if the extra features don't appeal to you then all you have are bulky, middle-range, headphones i give it a 4 because the sound and features are good, just didn't quite work out for me fitment-wise. but that doesn't mean they won't work for someone else. i still use them daily and will see how well they hold up in the long run.

This has to be the best headset I have ever owned. I would recommend this to any gamer out there. I have used a lot of headsets in the past and none of them come close to the sound and comfort level of this headset. Wearing the headset for 4 hours at a time is no problem even with glasses.

I have worn out 2 Razer headsets prior to this one and am glad I did! This is, by far, more comfortable and study than the other model I had. It has a heavier build than many headsets so damage is less probable. The cord is heavy enough to take a fair amount of abuse with no issues. The sound quality is very good. No problems whatsoever!
