Always been hesitant buying a gaming headset for over $50 and was hoping not to regret this. Fortunately, this is not the case. First, sound is fantastic. I honestly never knew a true Surround Sound gaming experience until I used these. Depending on the game you play, it is optimized to have sound coming from a certain direction as you move you character. In other words, it makes gaming realistic. Also, it's noise cancelling feature is pretty solid. It doesn't absolutely block out all the noises (which I prefer). If you want to, it's best to optimize the settings to do so (which is possible). The downside is that they are highly uncomfortable for long periods of gaming. I like to leave my headset around my neck sometimes. Even in that position, it is not a comforting. Overall, this is great. If you can get past the feel of the headset (if you are planning to play for long sessions), it is awesome.

Pros- Great surround sound accuracy, with good directional presentation. Surround sound can also be fine tuned to your own directional tastes via the synapse software. Sound presence (once you adjust the EQ and enable bass boost) is also good, with meaty full bodied in game sound. I noticed ambient noises in Sniper Elite 3 that I've never heard before on my G35 headset. The EQ provides full personal taste customization of the sound matrix, and you can create different profiles for different applications/games. Noise cancelling works well, to the point I don't even hear my phone ringing. These are quality cans with good build quality as well. Cons- Gaming and maybe some youtube videos is about all they are good for. Surround can not be disabled (at least not that I can find), so there is a bit of echo on music. Music additionally sounds thick and muddy, and even with extensive micro adjustments to the synthesizer, I could not get these to sound very good on music. All of the music presets are garbage too, and I had to raise the levels on everything to get them to sound halfway decent. These just are not designed at all for music playback. The mic is also very loud, and finicky to adjust. It has to be turned down almost to the point of not registering on VOX before you stop deafening your friends. Windows sounds also seem very loud no matter how low you turn the volume. Other thoughts- I have normal sized ears and haven't experienced any discomfort with these, but they are right on the edge. They fit snug and the ear cups are pretty small, so even slightly larger ears than mine would most likely experience some discomfort with these. For me they are sitting the fence between being all right and uncomfortable, and I can imagine some sore ear cartilage if they are used for several hours by someone with larger ears than mine. Final thoughts- The synapse software saves these cans, as they are very muddy and anemic sounding out of the box on everything. Via tweaking the synthesizer and enabling bass boost, you can get them to sound great for games. Music is a lost cause though as far as I'm concerned. If gaming is your primary game and you have normal or small ears, these cans are a good value. If you're big into music or have larger ears though, I'd pass and keep looking.

So don't get me wrong the headset is great! I love razer products! I currently own the black widow chroma and the mouse and they are amazing! I got this Kraken 7.1 chroma headset cause I wanted to complete my chroma setup! The sound on the headset is beyond amazing! Better than the astros I own as well. The microphone is crystal clear! Amazing as it sounds there is only one issue I have with the headset is that it tends to hurt my ears after only 2 hours. And I play video games for more than just 2 hours. So if you are looking for headset to just play for a little bit then be my guest this headset will fit perfect for you! But not if you are going to sit there and grind 6 hours of call of duty double xp! cause your ears will be sore! But other than that the headset is awesome!

The sound quality of this headset is a gamers joy. It brings an excellent surround sound with a comfortable feel. The mic is also a superior act of this headset. My friends here my voice crystal clear without static or other annoying sounds. It also has customization option (with razer synapse) allowing easy change of settings. The quality of the interior of the mic is amazing but it is also a sight to look at with color changing on each side. A small thing i would change with this headset is the mic's length but that doesn't ruin this amazing headset.

I just bought this headset earlier today and had recently went through a couple other headsets for my PC (logitech g230, steelseries sieria, afterglow wireless). This is the by far best of them all. I was skeptical about razer because of the fact that sometimes their products can be more flashy than versibility (not always, just some products). I was immediately pleased with the headset. The only thing i can find somewhat displeasing about it is that it is all run through their software. This means volume, surround sound, bass boost, mic volume, etc. This isnt a huge issue but to change the volume you have to go into the program. This isnt too bad because it is in the bottom bar background processes by your volume. Other than that i cant find a single problem with them. They are comfortable as well, would recommend

The Kraken is one of the best headsets you can get for just $100. The presentation of the box is the same quality as of an Apple product. As you open the box the lid is held with two circular velcro pads which insure the lid wont open by itself. As you remove the headphones from the box you know that your hard-earned $100 was well spent on a well crafted headset. Welcome to the Cult my friend

So far, I love the headset. After using it a little bit, I found so many things I loved. Immediately being immersed in the game by not hearing the outside world (noise cancelling) helps when you live with your family. The lights on my croma are awesome, and I love the ability to customize both lights. Mic and sound quality great Happy I bought the Kraken 7.1 Cromas!

These products have brought nothing but a smile to my face since day one. I've owned the 7.1 Kracken for 9 months now and it had immensely shined a new light to games and immersivly sucks you into every game, and the 7.1 Kracken Chroma does all of that and looks clean and performs just as professionally as the package it comes in. 10 out of 10

This is an amazing headset especially for such low cost. I use it for pc gaming, music, and videos. The sound is crystal clear, excellent high,mid, and low range sound. The sound is actually much better than my $300 turtle beaches I use for console.I have also tried it out with my ps4 and it works just as well on there as it does pc. The mic is very good on this too, it is always very clear on the other end. this headset is also very comfortable, and i can wear it for hours and hours on end. I will also add the led lights are a nice addition to it. Over all thumbs up to Razer for making yet another amazing product.

This is the best headset I have ever used. I mainly use this for gaming but it is awesome for watching livestreams and videos. The long cord allows me to move around freely. The mute button on the microphone allows quick muting and the red light around the microphone allows you to quickly reference. And as always, the Chroma is a plus!!!

This RAZER KRAKEN 7.1 CHROMA headset is at its best quality. Fits lieke a glow, comfortable. Easy adjustable. LED lights in 16.8 million colours combined with base black looks jus amazing! This product is 100x better than any other headphone from any other company. It has great sound and includes a calibration option for your surround sound. For gaming everything is crisp including your friends voices And it works on Apple and windows. In other words buy it

The sound quality is good, the microphone digital recording is phenomenal clarity. The actual product I wish I could keep but My ears are bigger than most people, and The muffs literally choke the blood in my ears, and it starts to hurt, returning it tomorrow for LOGITECH equivalent...

These headphones have amazing sound and mic quality. I use them for gaming, listening to music, and movies. When using the mic on Ventrilo or Skype I've been told I come out crystal clear.

The 7.1 surround sound makes any audio experience amazing! The headphones may get warm if you have them plugged into the wrong USB though. So if they do get warm just change the USB its in.
