I was very patient with the purchase of this phone, as I had seen many negative reviews.
After a lot of thought and indecision, my ultimate determining factor was the impressive speed of the processor, being 2.8ghz!
It is catered to almost strictly to gamers, which is a bad marketing decision in my opinion. I am not a gamer, for example, and there are a lot of other great features, both inside the phone and outside.
Some of the best features are:
Dolby Atmos (utilized/enhanced) Speakers which are amazing and clear and like NO OTHER PHONE capability that I know of. That may be the coolest part IMO, but the screen is also above and beyond the average smart phone.
A couple of bad aspects are the phone does get warm, probably bc of the high end processing internally. Also, it is slippery and can fall when not VERY careful. Finally, it is such a niche or unique phone, it is difficult to find a lot of case options.
In conclusion, if you are completely not into any of the modern world technology and computers at all, then you probably should not pick this phone. Also, the maker's prob wouldn't even want you to! They seem very commited to the gamer and advanced IT type of demographic. Not to say they have done that successfully, but it feels like it is the case.
Great specs, fast phone, not a great camera but I think they were not interested in providing their clients good selfie pics.
5 of 5 stars is for the phone as it is intended. It would be 4 of 5 for the more casual users.

Short: it is fast, the screen is nice and the 120Hz refresh rate helps a lot. It is also unlocked. I use it on T-Mobile: for some reason the phone number in the SIM is not displayed in the About section but works fine, including VoLTE/LTE+ and WiFi calling. Speakers are LOUD. Battery lasts quite a while. No audio jack but it comes with a USB to audio jack adapter which also has a 48KHz DAC. Good buy for the price.

Wow! I purchased this amazing Razer Phone 2 as a supplement to my iPhone XS. I use both Android and iOS platforms for work and it was a no brainer to choose the RP2. The shear speed, insanely good sound card, graphics engine and extremely durable build blows away the Samsung 10+. I am a casual gamer and the quality and level of sophistication of available games is second to none. I loaded the external 1 TB Nano SD chip with music, audio books and videos and will have plenty of entertainment for long trips. So go ahead, feel free to buy this phone without hesitation. This is the best value for the money when it comes to an uncluttered Android phone with exceptional performance.

I'm a huge Android fan, and I've tried many different devices in the past years. This phone has some great ideas but terrible execution and horrible QC as is usual with Razer products.
Display: The display is surprisingly vivid and sharp, even though it's not an OLED it can definitely hold it's own against some of the better displays out there. The 120hz refresh rate is what really sets it apart from competitors. It is super smooth and it looks great, but it will tear through the 4000, mAh battery like nothing. Overall, I'm very happy with the display and there's not much to complain about here.
Sound: So here is where the QC issues come into play. The phone has a 24 bit DAC, no headphone jack but it does come with a dongle. Using wired headphones, the sound is great at higher volumes. It's comparable to the LG V series, while it doesn't sound quite as good, it's very close. At lower volumes, it is absolutely abysmal. There is a very loud and noticeable static noise at anything less than 60% volume. I've tested with multiple headphones and dongles, always the same result. The speakers also have this issue, though it's not always present. I think it's a software issue, related to the Dolby atmos app that manages the phone's sound. Which leads me to the next point, the software.
Software: By far, the biggest flaw on this device is the horrible firmware and software bugs. There are a ton of them. The phone doesn't support EXFAT, so if you want to use an SD card with any other device and this phone, it's not going to work. You also can't manage where you want to install apps or send files to, the phone does it all automatically and very poorly. For example, with a 64 GB SD card installed, the phone continued to download apps to the internal storage. After it filled up, I was plagued with notifications stating it was full and would effect performance. I connected it to the PC to manually move some things around and the storage counter stopped working completely. I had to reset the phone entirely to restore functionality. There were a ton of other annoying bugs I encountered. It makes daily usage a serious chore.
Last thing I'll touch on is the camera. If you really value having a good camera, do yourself a huge favor and do not get this phone. It has the worst camera on any device I've ever owned. Using the Google camera app makes noticeable improvements but not enough to salvage this camera. It's unusable in low-light situations, and you may as well forget about video functionality. The audio from videos is embarrassingly bad. If you've ever heard any videos recorded on the Pixel 3 and thought it sounded bad, the Pixel 3 sounds a thousand times better than the RP2.
This phone had so much potential, but all of the bugs and problems makes it hard to recommend. It's a decent phone for the price, but not worth the hassle. If you're a power user, I highly suggest you look elsewhere.

This phone has been excellent all around for my use. It has a large battery that lasts me all day and could last multiple days if used more sparingly. The 120Hz screen and front facing speakers are amazing!
The only downsides I can find are lack of a headphone jack (does come with a 3.5mm adapter with Hi-Fi DAC built-in however) and the camera isn't quite as good as it could be, but is still adequate for most pics.

Pros: Unique glass casing. Amazing display and great sound with 24bit DAC. Battery life can go all day with moderately heavy use. High end specs for much less than Samsung or Apple.
Cons: Not sure if it's my third party case or if I'm doing something incorrectly, but distance trackers using my GPS signal are inaccurate, as if they lose signal. Could also be from being in my pocket as I ride my bike though.

Coming from an Apple iPhone 7Splus. this is def worth it! great phone, amazing speakers and lightning fast screen. the snapdragon processor makes any task seem effortless. I wish the camera had more features, but you can always down load another app to fill it the short comings.

I needed a phone quickly as mine had developed charging problems. Not eager to spend four figures for a Samsung or Apple. Took a chance on the Razer, and willing for it to be imperfect for the difference in price.
My only nit to pick is the lack of a FM Radio. Otherwise the phone exceeds my every expectation. The screen is incredibly sharp and responsive. The battery coasts through a day easily, two days between charges wouldn't be a problem. Front facing stereo speakers are loud and clear. Wireless charging saves wear and tear on the USB C port.
The camera issues present at release have been resolved. Other than very low light shots the stock camera app works very well. The Google Pixel Camera app has been ported for this phone and allows crisp low light shots .
Phone runs near stock Android devoid of bloatware. Shipped with the Nova Launcher which is highly customizable.
An inexpensive Tudia bumper case will help protect the phone from damage and I highly recommend adding one.

Had been researching this phone since 10/2018. Really liked the 1st version specs, but it was not Verizon compatible. This 2nd version is.
Sound is superior to any phone I have used. Razer's Chroma is a big plus. It flawlessly upgraded to Android 9 (Pie). I recommend this phone for anyone into gaming or videos. 120Hz ! This phone Rocks!

i have been using this phone for a couple of weeks now and I am enjoying my experience with it. I bought it for the gaming aspect of the phone. It does all other smartphone functions well. If you want a camera phone this will not satisfy that need. The camera is ok and works but it is not exceptional.
I do love the fact that i can adjust the quality of the game I am playing such as refresh rate, frames per second, processor speed.
I just recently upgraded to Android Pie (3/2/19) and it has some great new features that fixed the minor issues i was having with messaging on the phone.
With this phone I can get an entire day of medium to heavy use playing games and other various smartphone activities.

My old faithful Google Motorola Nexus 6 (2014) has been on its way out for a long time. Being I'm an Android Enthusiast & also have strong preferences for the physical specs of a phone also, I had I did what I always do...searched & reviewed phones real hard...not to mention one that wouldn't break the bank. First: I try to stick around a 6" screen. I also can't stand how most, if not all flagship phones with big screens get longer, but the width of the screens have just been getting thinner which also takes away quality viewing that most flagship phone owners don't realize unless they've had a screen similar to the one on the Nexus 6. I also can't stand curved edges, horrible. Don't like notches, puncholes, or anything that messes up the good old all flat screen with no eye sores. There's many reasons of having high specs on a phone you plan on keeping a long time, things you don't realize till needed, too much to mention. I also love having the options of a very customizable phone. Do wish batteries were improving, could be better. So so camera, could've been better. The Razer Phone 2 is sold & marketed as a true gaming phone... however, I didn't buy it for the use of a gaming phone, but got as close to my perfect daily driver as I could with using the Razer Phone 2 as my one & only! I love it. Do wish the screen was a little larger. Not a large choice in cases, mainly 2 on Amazon that do the job the best. I like the Tudia, (black) the one with the triangular cutout on the back which exposes the customizable Razer LED notification icon logo on the back. I don't like having a phone with a glass back no matter how nice it looks quality wise since I keep my phones in the best cases anyway. The glass back, however, apparently helps with the wireless charging, another option I believe a good phone should have. I do however, like a specific case on the Razer website, but I'm waiting for it to be in stock, was advised by Razer reps on chats that it's expected likely around black Friday sales. I do also want the Razer Wireless charger on Razers website, however, hopefully they'll be a good holiday sale on it since I would never consider paying $99.99 for it or any wireless charger, even if it's meant to be very specific for the Razer phone, and also meant to work great for other Qi Wireless phones also. If you want great hardware, a near Android experience, plenty of customization, an extremely fast phone with the highest screen quality available, and yes, also great as a gaming phone as it's meant to be, except the battery could be better, then the Razer Phone 2 may also be for you! Oh, and by the way, it's been half price on Razers website, Amazon, and Best Buy, originally $800, now $400, and came to market 2018. And there also has been a few Cyber weekend deals on Razers website which also gives a free quality pair of USB-C headphones. Yes, this is also my 1st phone using the USB-C charging. Razer also should not have left out the 3.5 headphone jack. The phone does come with a dongle if you still own 3.5 headphones, unless you get a wireless pair or a USB-C pair like the ones you can try catching on Razers website. I'm very happy with my purchase of the Razer Phone 2 from Best Buy!

Bought this phone to replace an LG V30 that I was having issues with - my issue being the phone was just way too slow. Compared to the Razer Phone 2, my LG was slower than a herd of turtles stampeding through peanut butter, LOL! Seriously, the Razer Phone 2 is LIGHTNING fast; faster than any phone I've ever owned in the past (and, I've owned phones like Galaxy Note phones)! I have a lot of apps installed on it, too (a total of 147), and that hasn't seemed to slow it down, any. I'm not a "gamer"; I don't play games on it - I bought it for the high-end specs, hoping that would make it a better performing phone in everyday use, and that seems to be exactly what I got (that's the same reason I also own an Acer Predator gaming laptop, even though I never play games on it).
I HIGHLY recommend this phone (the only downside is there's not a lot of cases available for it - I'm going to have to order directly from Razer, who's prices aren't much more than Amazon, but Amazon says "usually ships in 1-3 weeks"!).
FYI - I previously held off on buying this phone, because it wasn't possible to root it (I only buy Android phones that can be rooted, as I like to customize my phones), but Razer has since posted the factory images for it, and root became possible, so I'm now on Android Pie (9), rooted via Magisk with Xposed installed (be aware that, although Razer posts instructions on how to unlock the phone's bootloader, so you can flash images/ROMs, they say your warranty is void if you do so).

Camera is lackluster in comparison to my Pixel 3 (but that broke, and was out of warranty). Is how I will preface this review.
Out of the box it's a snappy phone, hardly any bloatware (aside from the included Razer Applications). Roots easily on 9.0 (pie)
Again, I hated the camera. Quick google search reveals a website with a repository of Google Camera ports (Swap that out with the stock camera application) makes this such an amazing phone for the price. $400~
Not enough for my to take a star off, because it's Verizon's fault (I am having issues getting my texting to work) quick call to them, they've put a ticket in. HIGHLY recommend this phone for the price. Don't hesitate. Premium feel, high quality screen and GREAT speakers. I was skeptical of having to use a dongle for 3.5mm devices (Aka, my radio AUX in my car) I do have to say the 24 bit DAC, combined with the dolby ATMOS provides such an amazing sound experience.

Screen is fantastic, plenty bright, good colors and super smooth. I will never go back to a 60 hz screen again. This phone gets alot flack for it's camera, I think the camera is fine, much better than the HTC one this replaces.(didn't like the HTC one camera) it's not a Nokia 1020 or pixle but it's good. I'm probably in the minority but smart phone cameras to me are like Polaroids, good for small photos but if you want a real picture you need a real camera. Phone is very fast, very little bloat. The apps that are installed are good and usefull. It maintains it's performance even under very heavy use and does not slow down. Battery is good. Lasts me a full day unless I use it real heavy, then if it does get low, a quick 20 min charge will give a good 40% boost. Speakers are awesome, can watch movies without headphones. At 499 this is a steal! Razer even has a sale now if you buy it off thier site you get a chroma wireless charger free.

This phone actually works fine with Verizon. Sat at the Maple Grove store I had zero issues moving it over. Games and videos are really smooth. Hoping the long-term better life is as good as the first 3 days. Without a doubt would recommend it to anyone looking for an upper end phone, for 300 less than the big names. Lights are Overkill but run with Razers RGB gaming products.
