This has got to be one of the best mics out there! Out of the box my voice sounds amazing. The durability and quality of the mic is true to Razer and I have no complaints about it. Perfect!

The Seiren V2 X has a premium feel and appearance. The mic has standard fittings, and I was able to screw it on to my boom arm easily with no adapter needed. The included USB cable is about 6’ long. The mic end is a standard USB-C connection, the other end is USB-A. The cable was just long enough to snake down along my boom with about 2’ left over, barely enough to reach my USB hub. If you need a longer cable or a USB-C at the PC end, longer cables and extensions are easily found. The microphone body is plastic, but you would not know that till you pick it up as it has a metal look. It looks good and seems at home on my boom. No worry if you have no boom though as a wide and stable mic stand comes in the box. The stand is hefty enough to not tip over if you bump it. The connection to the mic has a bit of a gimble that allows some tilting of the mic if you prefer. The Mic has a handy lighted mute button on front, green for on, red for mute There is also a gain control dial for quick changes on the fly to keep your voice from breaking up. There is no hard start and stop on the gain dial, it turns to infinity in each direction. Once you have your baseline set, you typically only need small adjustments if any to eliminate unwanted ambient noise. A headphone jack on the back is included so you can monitor your mic output with whatever other sound you mix in. The mic is on the short end. Which may help keep it low enough to avoid getting in the way of your monitor. If you have a cage/crown style Shock Mount, you may find the mic controls are blocked by the cage. There are flat shock mounts that work well for mics like these you can get if you need that level of isolation. The sound has a nice warm/rich sound but is clear without a preponderance of bass. The sound is very excellent, and that is what really counts. I did have some pops and an occasional slight whistle sound. My metal pop filter was enough for my last mic, but not enough with this mic to eliminate the pops. My metal pop filter may be the source of the whistle sounds. A foam filter was added and that seems to have resolved all the problems. But everyone is different, you may not need any pop filter at all. With the pops resolved, members of my Teams calls tell me it sounds as good or better than my last mic and my recordings sound good. Under the grill, the mic’s pickup pattern is heavily weighted to the front and top. This pickup pattern is perfect for a single user doing a podcast or video narration as it helps minimize any background noise to the side or back. But not so good for a group gathered around a conference table. Having the mic about 16-18” from my mouth worked best. when I first plugged in the mic, the Razer Synapse software started to install. The Razer software is well featured including a mixer with level controls, high pass filter, gain limiter, headphone volume, and sampling rate among other features. The mic also works well with other popular apps like Sounf Forge. If you are already familiar with another app like this, you can keep on using it if you prefer. A USB mic is less complicated and far less expensive than a mic than one that uses an XLR connection and interface with a PC. A USB mic is not only a great starting point, but light with simple connections make it ideal if you need to be mobile. The Razer Seiren V2 X has a solid feel, excellent build quality, features not found on high end mic’s, good software, and most importantly great sound. The best USB mic I have come across so far. I find this mic an excellent buy.

    Compact microphone, good performance!

The main thing to mention about this microphone is the size, it is a compact design microphone of low weight. Its construction is made of metal and plastic with a very good finish. The microphone connects via USB, includes a USB-A to USB-C cable and a metal base. To get the most out of the microphone is recommended to download the Razer Synapse app, in this app you can adjust the sampling rate 4100khz or 4800khz, also the volume of the microphone and headphones as the microphone has a 3.5mm output that allows you to monitor your own voice. One of the features that surprised me and at the same time I really like is the analog gain limiter, it is activated through the app and definitely improves the user experience. It keeps the microphone volume at the limit where the audio is not distorted despite increasing the volume of the voice or even shouting, there are people that we get so excited playing video games, this function is of great help in this aspect. The performance of the microphone is very good, the clarity of the voice is perceived in video calls or playing video games and with the app you can get very good results. The microphone has a mute button and has a nob to control the volume of the microphone, it is not possible to know the volume level that is being used directly in the microphone, this has to be seen in the app directly as well as the volume level of the headphones. As I mentioned at the beginning, this microphone is small so if you have a boom arm, it would be much better, since approaching the microphone to talk when it is on its base can be a little uncomfortable, but it will depend on the taste and needs of each person. In conclusion, this Razer Seiren V2 X despite being a relatively compact microphone, sounds pretty good and you can make very valuable adjustments from the app as the digital analogue limiter that works great. It has a minimalist design and has the essentials to record audio, make calls or play video games and communicate with your teammates. Considering that there are other options on the market at similar prices, the price of this microphone, with the current discount, is a great competitor in its category, I can recommend it.

Decent pro-sumer quality mic you can't over drive

If you're looking to start a podcast or give commentary to your games, you know that a good quality microphone is a key ingredient to that. In my case, my daughter was looking for a way to record the music she writes. She sings and plays acoustic guitar. Our plan was to record in separate tracks using Audacity. Since she also plays games, she liked the idea of a Razor branded microphone to go with the keyboard and mouse already hooked up to her gaming machine. I was very impressed with the dynamic range that this microphone can handle. Guitar chords were clear and crisp throughout the recording session. She sings soprano and this microphone was able to pick that up just as clearly. Even the louder notes were picked up with no distortion. Razor does a nice job of preventing the mic from over driving the input. We used the stand which Razor provides, but this can also be attached to a microphone boom using a standard 5/8 inch socket. We do not have a dedicated studio space just yet, so I was pleasantly surprised to hear how nearly all the background noise was eliminated (Air vents, TV in another room). The razor did a much better job than the Blue snowball Microphone she previously used. The microphone has a gain control on the front but bringing this up too high we'll end up adding noise. Both my daughter’s singing and the guitar were plenty loud to be picked up. It also has a jack to plug in 3.5mm headphones. I had an older set of ear buds that we plugged in just to hear how it worked. Neither my daughter nor I was able to get good feedback on how loud to speak or sing in order to deliver good audio. We ended up using the visual meters in the recording software instead. The only real issue we had was with plosives when speaking very close to the mic. When speaking with a hard P or B, the mic would cut out briefly and return to full volume after a second or so. We do not have a plosive screen attached and this may have contributed. The solution was to move to around 6” away and the issue was resolved. One very nice technical feature is that this mic USB-C in order to connect. While the included cable includes a USB-A connector, The microphone itself has a USB-C connector on it. This means you can easily use your own double ended USB-C cable to connect to a newer laptop or Macbook without the need for an adapter. While I can't easily speak to all of the microphones on the market today, Razor has a good reputation and this microphone works as advertised.

Outstanding out of the box. I am using this for both work and home use. For work, I do not have the ability to install software, so it is important that the mic works well out of the box for me. I was able to plug into work and the mic has worked perfectly. I have it paired with a speaker, so I was concerned about the mic picking up the speaker sound and causing a tunnel effect for those in the meeting. No such issues. According to coworkers the sound is perfect and an excellent reproduction of my actual voice. Once again, this is without extra software installed. Just using Windows drivers. The build is what you would expect from Razer. Sleek, minimal design with the expected green light. Fully assembled the mic is compact. The USB cord fits perfectly in the back of the mic and is a smooth fit to almost appear hardwired. The USB cord is plenty long enough to reach anywhere on your desk with no issue, easily over 6 foot long. On the back there is also a headphone jack, this works quite well and saves another wire running to the PC/laptop. In the front you have one button for mute and a dial for gain control. Very straightforward and nothing to fight with to reduce echo, distortion, etc. The mic can be attached to a mic boom arm. I did not do this since the stand is so nicely weighed and will allow you to tilt the mic which meets all my needs. I have not spent a lot of time with the Razer software because I have not needed it for my use case. Between sound and build quality, this is a top notch mic and highly recommended.

Razer Seiren V2 X USB Condenser Microphone

Installation on my Razer Blade was easy and quick. Installation on a non-Razer system was also easy. Installation on a non-Razer system after accidentally cancelling the auto-installation...not so much. Cancelling the auto-install resulted in pains with the manual download/install with the server continually timing out. Visually it’s simple and elegant. It's very aesthetic. Knobs are fully functional and very responsive, but no there's indication without the app because no tactile feedback from the knob and they have no turn limits in either direction. Not a huge issue, but it makes you very dependent on the app for settings. Background noise and static was almost nonexistent. It's a crisp, clear sound and doesn't distort like other microphones that artificially deepen the speaker's voice. All in all, I think it's a great purchase if you already have a Razer computer. If you have something else, it's still a great purchase but you might be able to find a different brand with similar capabilities for a lesser price point. If you don't intend to use the Razer app, you're probably better off buying something less expensive.

awesome entry level mic for content creators

The Razer Seiren V2 X USB Microphone is my first dedicated microphone. I recently decided to expand what I do with some of my travel videos, adding narration to some of the content I produce. Having a better-quality microphone as opposed to one embedded into a set of earbuds, headphones or headset is a big improvement. As I started to unbox the Razer Seiren microphone the first thing I noticed was the build quality which is mostly black plastic with a metal grated screen over the top third of microphone body. The body of the mic screws on to a nub that is on the base (or stand). Initially I though the screw a bit off, like it was cross threaded, but after looking at it a bit closer I realized the screw mount was built to angle and designed to swivel, nice design feature. In any case the microphone attaches to your computer by a custom braided USB-A to USB-C cable. However, should you ever need to replace this cable or get a longer one, the USB-C end is molded specifically to the body of the microphone, some USB-C cables may have a problem “plugging in”. The front of the microphone also has a lighted mute button, which glows green for open, red for muted. Also, a gain switch is right below it so you can control the volume, what seemed to be missing was any type of visual indicator on the microphone on the gain control level, you can essentially spin it continually, although it did have a nice feel and appropriate level of resistance. On the back is a headphone jack for monitoring or using in a remote meeting. As for the sound quality, I felt like a DJ or voiceover pro, my voice sounded rich and clear. The microphone did not pickup much background noise, however typing will definitely be picked up if you are taking notes during a remote meeting. I did some voiceovers for my videos I did not notice any hiss, although you do need to be careful if you have this placed on a desk and you move your hands on or off the table as it will pickup a subtle thump (now I know why professionals hang a microphone from above). If you wish you do have some flexibility in integrating that type of mount as the bottom of the mic has a screw on receptacle. I did not install the Razer software control panel at the time of this review, this mic was essentially plug and play with all the functions you need built into the Windows 10 and 11 computers I connected this to. Pros: - Great entry level microphone for content creators, gamers or for teleconferencing - Nice build quality, looks good - Gain knob - Lighted Mute/Unmute button - Rich sounding Cons: - based on the design the USB cable could be considered somewhat proprietary on the USB-C side which is molded to fit into the microphone - Base could be better insulated to prevent noise when placing your hands on the same surface as the mic (easily fixed by placing the base on a piece or fabric or small wash cloth).

Great Beginner Mic for Streaming / Game Chat

Where to start with the Razer Seiren V2 X USB Microphone for Streamers. This is a great little microphone. It was well packaged, easy to put together, and easy to use. There are a few cons to this microphone. But all in all, works as advertised. Here are my top 3 Pros that I like about the microphone. First reason I like this microphone is that people could actually hear me talk, I am a very quiet person and with the headset microphone I have been using, people were always having issues hearing me. I am going to try and start streaming soon hopefully and people being able to hear you in streams is very important. Next reason is because it has good sound cancellation with the right gain setting, which is easy to do. Last reason is because it is so small in size and doesn’t take up a lot of space on my desk or in the way of my monitors. There are other pros, but you would be here all day reading this review! The way it was packaged was pretty good. It had good tight fit on the microphone and cable. The microphone and the cable came in some thin but durable Styrofoam covering. It was very easy to put together. There are 3 parts to the microphone. The microphone itself. It looks and feel durable being a combination of heavy plastic and metal and has the mute button and the gain on it. You screw the microphone into the base. The base is small and circular. It has a felt and spongy feeling bottom, that will not scoot all over the desk. The cable is 6 feet long. At the moment I have it plugged in to my USB in the back of my computer. I can move it all over my desk where I need it with no trouble. It also has the ability to plug your wired headset into it instead of running its own cable all the way behind your computer which makes cable routing much easier. These are only cons that I have with the microphone are the gain doesn’t have a range on it, you just have to turn and test it. It would be nice to see where it it set to be able to know for sure that you talking sounds good. The pamphlet that was sent was a had such small writing that you couldn’t read it without a magnifying glass. Pictures for the win! I spoke of the base being a pro, but it also comes with a con. Where the base of the microphone and the base are screwed together, to toggle it back and forth, and side to side aren’t easy moved. You have to put your hand on the base to move it. I guess that really isn’t that big of a con, just a slight annoyance. Overall, I would recommend this microphone for a beginner streamer (yes, I’ve not streamed yet, but I do use it on Discord channel that I talked to friends for game chat with all the time) or gamer for that matter. I have enjoyed using the microphone and will continue to use it for as long as it continues to work for my needs.

Great Mic for creating content and conferencing. Setup is super easy. USB C in the back and USB A into computer. PC automatically recognized and I was up and running. Cord was long enough to be away from the USB plug in. Which is nice. Some products give you this ity bity short cable and expect you to not have stuff away from you. Makes it hard to use their product. Not this one. Size is nice. Not too big and ominous and not too small where it can get knocked over easily. Metal bodies and is solid. No plastic feeling. The USB C plug in the back has a taper that nicely matches the mic. The base easily screws in. The look is nice and slick with black tomatoes finish. Mic gain responds well and easy to use dial is a nice touch. Software was easy to toggle through. I have used to voice over my video and mixed everything together easily. I have also used as part of my daily meetings with video conference calls and it works great too. No lag no issues with audio and selecting mic versus my speaker pods mic was super easy to switch. I like this mic and will continue to use it everyday. Good job razer. I would recommend this product.

Don’t let the smallish compact design deceive you; this microphone packs a punch. Although made mostly out of plastic, it is extremely well built and sturdy. It is plug-and-play so there is no real need to mess with drivers or software. You can immediate start using it. Having said that, I highly recommend downloading the Ryzen Synapse software. The fabric braided cable is well made, strong, and long enough. My only complaint about it is that the input to the mic is proprietary, and I worry that if anything happens to it, you can’t just use any other USB-C cable. To compliment the design, there is a 3.5mm input for headphone monitoring. There is a simple gain knob and a mute button in front. Out of the box, I was pleased with the sound pickup and reproduction. There is good bass, and the mids/highs add clarity. Featuring a super cardioid pattern, the best distance for me was around 12-18 inches with the mic in front of me and pointed at my mouth. The gain was about 70% in software, and I adjusted the mic’s gain with the knob. There is minimal ambient sound pick up, but keyboard’s strokes can be clearly heard. There is supposed to be a built-in shock absorber, but in my testing, it really did not do much for suppressing bumps and knocks, but I didn’t really mind. There is little popping and hissing, which is great if you like to talk right into the mic (as with a boom arm). The Razer Synapse App adds a lot of nice features such as output/input on mixing, playback, headphones monitoring, and the microphone itself. The best feature is the analog gain limiter, which regulates clipping and over-peaking keeping my voice nice and level when screaming “nooo!” after losing a match. In the end, I am really enjoying this mic. It is compact and sturdy, goes well on the stand or boom arm, is easy to set up and use, and works better than expected. At the current price, I can easily recommend it -especially if you have other Razer peripherals.

This review may be bias because I am a huge fan of razer products. The simplistic design is awesome and the performance to price ratio was a deal. For the price it feels very solid and premium. Has decent noise cancellation and filtering. My wife and I play games online together with friends. The mic sits between us and it does a very good job of catching our voices. No complaints from our discord friends.

Great streaming focused mic - Warm Voice Profile !

Where to start on a review of a streaming mic ? That's easy - How it sounds ! It's very "warm" with a wide range which I love for voice. I've used it in discord, used it gaming, I have recorded samples for comparison. I generally work remote so I also went ahead and used it for a ton of meetings and recorded training sessions. "Torture Testing" - My home office is a literal minefield of stray sound. I usually have a 3d printer going in the corner, random laser printer action and a minimum of two PC's running all the time. To top that off - I'm perfectly positioned to hear most of our downstairs with my doors open. Much to my annoyance it's a great "real world" spot to test noise cancellation and filtering ! Somewhere between the high pass filtering built into the mic and the software, I picked up very little stray sound with every possible audio distraction running in the background. Notably PC fan sounds were completely eliminated. Software - Razer's software is polished and it works. I had no issues in Windows 11. You can use the physical plug on the mic for a monitor loop or you can feedback via software. Pros - Wide range - very warm voice mic ! Auto clipping and filtering excellent. Standard size everything to fit a screen and mount to a boom (base thread is 5/8). Works fine out of the box on it's stand - I'll be traveling with it. Cons - May require a bit of fumbling with discord settings 6ft cable means you will likely need an extension to use with a boom arm. Only available in black. Not everyone loves all black everything Razor ! Overall - This mic works perfectly for what it is designed to do - Voice with good noise cancellation in any application I tried with it. Would I buy a second one for travel ? Absolutely.

TLDR: This is a high quality mic tuned to reduce background noise compared to less expensive alternatives, though you will absolutely need to get a pop filter. ****** COMPARED TO ALTERNATIVES: The style of this microphone has it picking up more background noise than dynamic mics will, but it appears to have been tuned to reduce hissing. If you really want perfect high-frequency sensitivity and have a space set up without ambient noises, you can go for just about whatever you want - but this is nice for the rest of us. It's actually ironic because they claim this mic is "capable of capturing your voice with a high degree of accuracy especially at higher frequencies" - which just isn't the case. A $30 microphone can do better - but you introduce extra noise. ****** QUALITY: The body of the microphone is plastic. This may bother you, but to me it means less weight and greater durability if you drop it. The grille is metal and the included 6' USB C to A cable is thick and fabric wrapped. ****** SETUP: You can use the included base - just screw it in. Plug the microphone into a USB A slot on your computer, make sure it's selected as your mic source, point the light at your face, then get recording. You won't get the best out of it, however. To do so, you're going to need a pop filter, and ideally a boom arm. Since this microphone is light, the boom doesn't have to be heavy duty, so a cheap one will work. ****** SOUND: This microphone comes, out of the box, sensitive to "plosives" - sounds that pop - so you'll need a pop filter. I had to use two - one that fits over the mic - and another that's the disk style. You can find one that fits over for the Seiren Mini that'll do the trick. Without both, though, popping sounds came through heavy and bassy. ****** SOFTWARE: The Razer Synapse software gives you some nice-to-haves for streaming, like an auto clipping filter (so you don't sound like garbage if you yell at any point) and the ability to turn up your "headphones" sound (your personal experiece) without turning up the mic playback for your stream or meeting listeners. The latter being found in "Stream Mixer". You can of course use the microphone without Synapse - you just lose those features. ****** PHYSICAL FEATURES: This thing is small. I can't believe there's actually a "Mini" version. Crazy. On the front there is a Mute button. Pressing this causes a small audio click in your recordings, streams or meetings - but it's worlds better than some alternatives which cause a jarring pop. Under Mute is a gain knob which operates gain in Windows and on the default "Mic" tab of Synapse. When using the "Stream Mixer", this knob does nothing. On the back is a 3.5mm audio jack to pass audio through to headphones. Keep this in mind if you want to use a shock mount. My shock mount blocks it. ****** What Could Be Improved: A pop filter needs to come in the box for this price. There should also be an equalizer in the Synapse software for people to personalize their mic profile. The headphone out should be on the bottom. ****** Conclusion: For my needs (YouTube Talking Head/Product Reviews), this is a great starter-intermediate mic. I won't be looking for another one for a while. It is a bit spendy in a competitive landscape, though. That knocks it down a peg.

Really great mic! Love the gain dial and mute button, comes in handy quite a lot. Only one complaint is that it adds a bunch of other "devices" or driver's other than just mic and headphones jack which can confuse me sometimes and I don't see a way to get rid of them without breaking the mic. Other than that, great buy!

Picked this up as simple desk mike and it does the job. People on the other end say it sounds great. Mute and gain adjust right on the front so super convenient.
