I suppose it might be my long fingers, but I had to archive my hand to use. This quickly became uncomfortable. I looked online and found better styles with more buttons.

    Great for laptop gaming!

I purchased this from best buy about 6 months ago. When I would sit and play at the desk with my laptop, the edges of the laptop would cut my wrists. It also was a pain trying to cram both my hands onto the keyboard just to move around. The Razer Tartarus is a perfect solution! It has the ability, through Razer Synapse that comes with the product, to be a fully programmable keypad with endless possibilities. It has 15 programmable macro keys, on top of 8 key maps for every profile! The possibilities are almost limitless! This is a great addition to my Razer family of products. I would not hesitate to buy/recommend this to any of my friends.

    Lives up to Nostromos quality

I have owned multiple Nostromos game controllers over the last 10 years, including the version which used Razer software. Now that Razer has taken over the manufacture of the controller, I find the quality to be better. Ergonomically, the controller is more comfortable. The ability to program the buttons using synapse software, which I already use for my mouse, is an added bonus.

Honestly, the Tartarus is a piece of gaming equipment I use every time I play any game. Every key on the pad is fully customizable and with 8 key maps per profile and the ability to make so many profiles, the combinations are endless. Perfect peripheral for any PC gamer

No need to hit "I" all the way over there now

I just bought this recently, and I'm not sure if I fully understand how it works yet, but I got the main keys down. Easy set up, you get the software from Razer, you set up your keys, and you have 25 keys to keybind, all within the reach of your hand, not moving anywhere else besides where's its' siting. Once again, I'll use Dying Light as an example; with so many functions in a game, there's are keys you need to reach in short amounts of time, sometimes between your characters' life and death, and I dislike having your right finger hit "y, u", and then "i" till I finally hit inventory.. or just guessing until you hit the right key, there's also "m", "b" is a nasty one, and even the number and function keys are used. In dying light not only do you have to use those keys, but sometimes in combination with one another, all while running, and keeping your eyes on the screen. It can mess up your attacks, or this and that, we all know the frustration. With this device, literally everything you need to hit is right there. Playing Dying Light, and Day Z, and such require a lot of numbers, or key binds, Day Z actually has a use for all of the function keys, and this is where I put 4 instead of 5 stars down for it: If the Best Buy I went to had the Orb Weaver (the Tartarus, with a couple more keys) I would've gotten that in the first place, but they didn't, and I wanted to try out this product. I use the directional thumb stick thing, (which goes in 8 directions) to bind some of the essential keys I needed in Dying Light that didn't fit on the key board, these include "h, b, i, t, 1, esc, and m". I found that when i sucessfully mapped the 4 most essential keys to the thumb thing, in directions opposite to each other, and another key in the "alt" button, but when I tried to add other keys in the thumb stick thing, it changed my current key map to one of the other 7 available in the Razer Synapse software. I can easily navigate my way back to the one I choose, but not once was I able to hit any of the other keys I mapped in between those I mapped opposite to each other, it just keep switch key mapping configurations. For the gameplay, it works out fine, and in fact faster then ever before hitting the keys I mean to hit, even those distant on a keyboard, but I still can't map those not as essential extra keys. I really like the key pad though. I find it much easier to use than the keyboard, it takes no less then 10 mins for me to get used to. Although if you don't have a razer mouse with the key binds on the side, and you play games that require many keys to play, I'd recommend the orb weaver, or the stealth. Of course, this is all in the experience of me not being able to map those keys, which I feel like you should do, otherwise what's the point of the other 4 keys? Even with that small problem, I can still play the games with ease, and other games that require any less keys, I could easily play on this thing. It all depends on what kind of games you play.

I love the Tartarus and I have changed my desk's layout to fit it on as well. The only problem I have is it isn't connecting to Razer Synapse 2.0. I connected my Naga, but couldn't connect the Tartarus.

Okay - not as good as previous model

Pros - I love Razer keypads, I owned the Razer Nostromo before this which I loved. I received this item, the Razer Tartarus as a gift. First thing I loved was the fact it had adjustable wrist pad. It also has an extra button compared to the Nostromo as opposed to the scroll wheel. Cons - It's not even! This is the biggest issue for me. I have a flat desk that I used my Nostromo on. Switched over to the Tartarus and whenever I hit any keys in the top left, it tilts. Checked the underside of the Tartarus and the desk. Not sure why it's not an even item, could be a defective unit. Another issue is they replaced the scroll wheel - which had 3 keybinds in it, with just one button. The one button is nice for easy plug and play, but the scroll wheel was nice because of the more keybinds. Conclusion - I would recommend going with the older model, the Nostromo or going with the newer version, the Orbweaver.
