I've been looking for a headset for about 2-3 years and I finally landed on this one because my friend said Best Buy had good deals currently. When I picked it out it looked a little too big, but when i put in on my head I had never been more comfortable. I hate gaming with headphones because after 30 mins it hurts my ears, but with this headset I can game comfortably for hours. I've had it for about a month now and it is very sturdy, comfortable and I like the long cord to reach even my TV if I need to! As far as sound quality it is amazing! Just as loud as I need it be and excellent noise cancellation. Haven't had any other headset, but I don't plan on ever getting another headset any time soon.

First off I would like to say I have tried all of the different models of headsets from Razer and by far this one has one the best sounds. It really depends on a couple of features whether or not this headset is right for you. The sound for gaming and music was absolutely fantastic, very bass heavy. The headset snuggs your head a lot and for someone like me who plays with one ear off and one on, this became extremely uncomfortable after just a hour of wearing. if you wearing it like you should then it is extremely comfortable. I would recommend this headset to anyone who asks for a high end, high quality sound, extremely comfortable headset.

Great for gaming, I can hear enemy and detect their location very quickly. Big improvement over my other headset I have that cost as much. I had trouble with my mic and was ready to send it back to razer to be replaced. I found the answer to the problem after reading many other reviews that talked about having mic problems. The answer is to be sure you have mic completely pulled out and moved up to the very top of the up down position adjustment. It works great and others on teamspeak say that my voice comes thru crystal clear. I love the headset and I am glad that I didn't switch to another headset.

PROS: This headset is exactly what it's supposed to be - a great gaming headset. The bass sounds phenomenal, and with the Razer Surround & Razer Synapse 2.0 software, brings out the most out of this headset! CONS: 1) The only thing is I wish they got a little bit louder, as I can turn them up all the way and still not go deaf, which is what I was hoping! 2) Now this may be nitpicking, but the headset has a Razer logo on each side, and I don't understand why they wouldn't put LEDs on it, as with the rest of their products that I own! Either way, a solid A grade product, which is expected from Razor.

Purchased this so I can use it with PS4 and Xbox One. It is originally for a PC, so it has both mic and sound 3.5mm plugs. I bought a simple adapter at my local Radio Shack for $5 that coupled those two into one and was able to then plug that into the 3.5mm hole on both my PS4 and Xbox One controllers. Mic and Sound output perfectly and sound great. Nice that it has Mic On/Off and also volume control inline so you don't have to mess with settings on the console. Very comfortable and can wear them for extended amount of time without any discomfort. Sound quality is great for a 2.2 set and mic sounds crystal clear. Great product.

This is by far one of the best gaming headsets I have owned. Being that it is also one of the less expensive headsets I have owned, it is a great deal. I prefer wireless headsets, but I do not regret buying these, the performance is better than expected.

Great head set sounds great! When I have it on I can't hardly hear any surrounding noise at all in the room! It is a little tight on my head but a little use will take care of that I think. But overall worth every penny.

Let me start out by saying I would give it a 3.5/5 stars overall. I've tested headsets a LOT to the point that I was buying and returning until I found the perfect headset, which is essentially there is no perfect headset because everyone is looking for something different in a headset. I just wish they put the Logitech G35 sound with the Razer Kraken 7.1 sound with the design of the Tiamat together into one as that would probably be the perfect headset. Anyways back to the Razer Tiamat 2.2. Bass: The Razer Tiamat 2.2 has an extremely strong bass for what it is and after you use this headset, you will feel like other headsets have poor bass. The sound is pretty crisp but because of the too strong of bass you can't really tell that the sound is crisp. Analog: It's 3.5 mm jack instead of USB, which is great because you can connect this to your PS4 controller and use it as just a headset for sound (microphone will not work) or even use it for your cell phone or iPod etc. One of the benefits of the 3.5 mm jack over the USB is that some headsets using USB will have static or fuzz noise if you will that can get annoying. Comfortable: These headsets are extremely comfortable. Even though you can't really adjust it, Razer did a fabulous job of making it so that the headrest does not jam your head and feel like your head is being squished to shrink. I could game on this headset with no issue for hours and not have a headache or anything. But then again, my head is pretty big haha. I'm still in the search for THE headset. Based on the current offerings (tried Turtle Beach, Astro A40s, Logitech, Razer, Steelseries, and Sesisme however you spell it), I don't think there is one quite yet that is completely to my liking. Will keep searching!

    Good but not great

I've owned at least 20 headsets in my gaming, dare I say career? Most have been Logitech, some Microsoft, and a couple like the Creative Labs Sidewinder Pro (still my fav) My last headset was the Logitech h800 wireless. I really wanted to get away from wired headsets for many reasons such as in line volume control failures, cord failures from animals/children chewing on them, short length on the cords, tangling the cords in your chair, etc. but it's impossible. I'm not willing to spend $200-400 on a "good" pair that has better wireless abilities. (For $100+ I should expect a wireless version that doesn't crackle at less than 3ft away from the transmitter.) And if another person states I need a powered USB hub, I'll smack you with them. Which brings me to purchasing these. I've read hundreds of reviews of the current generation of headsets available for us gamers. The very best for our specific use appears to be made by Razer and Turtlebeach. After reading the many complaints of the Tiamat 7.1 I almost bought the Turtlebeach Z6. I literally set them down at the cash register and walked out of the store to sleep on it. After reading more lengthy reviews, I settled on the Tiamat 2.2, not quite as expensive as the 7.1 and doesn't have as terrible reviews either. I've always been hesitant of Razer products, especially their mice even though I am currently using their Deathadder Black edition. With all of that out of the way, on with the review. Pros: They sound fantastic, literally the best headset I've owned to date. The head cans block a lot of background noise (kids, wife, animals, burglars) and have plenty of room for my dumbo ears. They appear to be very well built and my friends in Vent/TS/Mumble can hear me perfectly so the mic works well. I am able to pinpoint the movement and direction of players in Battlefield 3 now, albeit Dice still needs to work on the sound engine, oh wait? BF4 is around the corner. Cons: They are freaking heavy! They fit way too snug, as many have reviewed. I am 5'11" 180lbs have a shaved head and they still fit too snug. I hope that I will get used to them otherwise, the kids will get another hand me down. The pleather does heat up the ears, I'm not sure why Razer chose that material over fabric honestly. The retractable mic is gimicky and definitely the part I expect to fail first. In the end, for $100 you can not do any better, so you might as well enjoy your sound while yearning for a potty break (did I really just say potty?) just to unstrap these gorillas from your sore neck and head.

Very nice headset. Pros: High quality sound - better bass than I'm used to in a headset with built in mic. Good ole mini-jack connectors - I have my speakers auto mute when I plug this headset in Very good sound isolation - this headset blocks out a good deal of external sound, so I can play with lower levels Mic - very sensitive without picking up too much background noise. I play with a fan and voice comes through without fan noise. Cons: Tight on my head (big head? nah, I've had others sets that were same size that didn't grip my head so hard. NOT UNCOMFORTABLE, just a "snug fit") Pleather ear cuffs make my head sweat. I'm not sure why not use cloth for this surface. Feels a bit heavy - but again, not uncomfortable. All in all I don't regret buying these. I just wish I could get a better set without paying 4 times the cost.

A high price for very little to brag about

Goods: Lots of Bass due to the 2 internal subwoofers Soft foam covered by a very soft leather on the ear cups Bad: Everything else. The sound quality on these is absolutely horrific for music and games. The bass is good, and punchy, but it's overpowering and drowns out everything else, even vocals. The mids are extremely muddled and almost discernible, highs are drowned out tho noticeable if you boost the EQ to unreasonable levels. I have a standalone soundcard and was able to make it a little better playing with the EQ, but I spent over an hour and never did get anything that sounded respectable. Also, the headset is very heavy compared to other headsets and it's clamping force on the head is a little too much. After a couple hours of gaming my neck was actually sore, something I have never had happen before. Positional audio is also bad, mostly because the bass on the unit drowns everything out. Not a very good headset for competitive gaming. I did like the very soft leather finish that was on the ear cups, I however did not like how small the ear cups were. I've owned atleast a dozen gaming headsets over the years and these were by far the smallest for a circumaural headset i've ever used. A little less critical but also noteworthy, the mic seemed extremely cheaply made and I thought I had nearly broken it a couple times just trying to retract it from the headset. Audio quality thru the mic was very bad, my friends said I sounded like a robot down a long hall. Overall the headset would maybe be good for the biggest bass enthusiasts, the two internal 40mm subwoofers were very noticable and added a lot of punch to music, but this was also it's critical flaw as it drowned out everything else. For $100 there are far better options. I'll be returning mine.
