    Pretty Good Headphones

These headphones sound pretty good, and they work well, but they are a little bulky and heavy. The cord is thick and they do make your neck hurt after a while of gameplay.

Long time razer fan. Always have had excellent products from them. However this headset is truly disappointing. I will give them as being one of the more comfortable head sets as they are light and fit better compared to my g930s. In 2.1 the sound is ok. Bass response is there but lacking. It's like listening to really good headphones. In 7.1 they are truly horrible. I tried two sound cards and my motherboard outputs. All the channels except front are hard to hear. The built in mixer is a joke. Didnt notice any difference adjusting volumes for each channel other then going from hard to hear, to cant hear. Bass response, well the dedicated drivers for that went on vacation when I switched modes. Microphone sounds shrill and has to much static. Also is not noise canceling, and has no sound gate or other tech to help it. And considering it required usb power you would think the drivers are powered. Alas they are not and any gamer looking for a true 7.1 experience is left wondering if it's worth the drive back to the store to exchange/return them considering the cost of gas. Razer had a truly wonderful Idea here, and ruined it worrying about rgb/chroma, magnetic speaker covers that serve no purpose other then to cover the weak lights emitted from the ear cups. Returned for astro a40 tr w/mixamp pro. There $50 more and worth more then double that in quality by comparison.

My mom is very hard of hearing and these are fantastic. She can listen to the tv at her volume and the neighbors don’t hear her. Would like bigger disks for volume and marked in white do we can see

I purchased this product for my son who considers himself a true gamer. His only complaint was the quality of the sound. In listening to his concerns it was true that anything that played sounded very muffled. He owned a less expensive headset that sounded better.

I had 2 sets of the first gen, but the headband broke on both (used for many hours for a couple of years) these seem to be a better build with a metal headband, time will tell. I like the sound with these better then the wireless ones, just think the wireless ones sond compressed too much. I have tried the CORSAIR - HS70 SE, Astro Gaming - A50 and Logitech - G933 Artemis, these just sound better to me. Just make sure to set the sound to 7.1 in the sound control panel and adjust the volumes for all of the different speakers with the volume knob.

Was trying to find a way to use this with my ps4 even bought an external sound card to try and get it to work. Was unable to. I'm sure it works great for PC just wish consoles headsets would make more multi speaker surround sound headsets.

The recommendation noted here and elsewhere for a dedicated sound card is not just a recommendation - it is mandatory. Onboard or integrated sound cards, even on top of the line retail/gaming motherboards, will not provide enough power output to get the most out of these headphones. My old 5.1 Sound Blaster Z (with one of the wires just hanging loose) sounds significantly better than my integrated 7.1 sound card. If you do not have a dedicated sound card, or aren't sure you have one (if you have to ask, you probably don't) then you will be VERY disappointed. However, invest a decent sound card, and you will be impressed. You will need to fiddle with your sound card settings to get the best sound out of them, but it's totally worth it. Pro tip: disable full-range on all speakers in sound settings. The sound is amazing in both music and games. They are extremely comfortable and are very effective at blocking outside noise.
