    My favorite mouse to date

I was showing this mouse off to a friend because I couldn't believe how light it was, and he made a joke along the lines of "You must really feel like you got ripped off, cause it feels like you got nothing for your money". Not to hype this mouse up, but it really does feel like almost nothing in your hand. I'm still confused at the engineering that went into this mouse to make it as light as it is, with a battery, sensor, and buttons. It really is something special in that regard. And I didn't think I would enjoy a lightweight mouse, having always added the weights to my previous mice, but this one actually clicked with me and I'm finally going to be replacing my Logitech Pro Wireless. Starting off let's talk about the finish of this mouse. Unlike many other Razer products this thing is very minimalistic, and for good reason. There is no unnecessary RGB lighting on this. No added logos, no quick DPI switch (unfortunately). It's a simple matte black finish with the two primary mouse buttons, the textured mouse wheel, and two side buttons. On the bottom you'll find the power button which doubles as a DPI switch, though it's too inconvenient to use while actually playing. It feels very hollow, almost like there is nothing in there, and if I wasn't using it wirelessly, I'd swear there isn't a battery in it. That said, it feels very fragile. I can't speak to how fragile it is, I have gamed with it for about 40 hours so far and haven't had an issue, but who's to say over a longer period of time. Thats just me speaking from that mindset of "weight = good", which I now don't believe to be true. But, that is where my mind is, confused. Time will tell on that one. To continue on the bottom, you have 2 large low friction pads to allow it to glide across surfaces with minimal resistance. This makes the already light mouse zip around even faster. It does have slight friction to it, but without actually using moisture I don't believe it could get lower. I really like the pads they used on this, but I have to say that using it on a hard surface without a mouse pad isn't my favorite. While using my mouse pad it feels phenomenal, with just the right amount of resistance for me. Your milage may very depending on your preference, but this is working great for me. I'm a palm gripper, my whole hand is on that mouse and the length of this mouse is great for me. If you are a claw or fingertip type of gamer with a small to medium sized hand, this mouse might be too long for you. I've attempted to mimic those grips on this mouse, and either the mouse was too long or I was too simple to do it properly, because I felt like the mouse was too long for my fingers to get the pose comfortably. The mouse is five inches long, so I would figure out what size works for you before purchasing. Another area where Razer surprised me was with their software. It has been a long time since I owned a Razer mouse (Razer Orochi was my last) and I wasn't impressed then. I didn't like the forced login, nor the lack of retained settings if the software wasn't running. Those two things are no longer an issue. Synapse features 5 levels of sensitivity for the mouse, though without rebinding the mouse I don't know how useful that is. But the sensor goes all the way up to 35k which is mind boggling. I can use up to 6400 myself, but anything over that I lose accuracy. I did toy around with the higher sensitivities, but they were far too zippy for my taste. It's nice that the option is there though for those that can. Additionally, to that, the software allows you to separate the X and Y axis on the sensor, assigning individual sensitivities to both. I like them to match, but I can see situations where that could be handy. The V3 Pro features a maximum polling rate of 8000hz. There is a catch to that though. It only works in the wireless mode. In a blind test I couldn't tell a difference between 8000 and 1000, but for those that can, the option is there. There is a drawback to that though, the battery life. When using the 8000hz mode the battery drains significantly faster. While using the 1000hz mode I used 20% of battery in 3 days of use (with about 5 hours used a day), with the 8000hz mode I went through 40% of the battery in just 1 day with around the same use time. Thankfully, Razer has built in a feature that allows it to switch into 8000hz mode only when gaming. I've been using that feature for 4 days now, with about the same usage and after a full charge I am now down to 45% battery. Overall, the battery life on this mouse I feel is very adequate. A final caveat to the 8000hz mode, it can be CPU intensive. I saw warnings about it on Synapse and decided to test it myself. In a CPU intense game (Horizon Zero Dawn at 1080p), I saw a reduction of about 3%. To put that in perspective, I went from 195fps to 189. Not a figure that really matters, but if you're on that line of being CPU bound in your competitive games, you might want to think about using this mode or not. Synapse has multiple other features for this mouse as well. If you don't know for some reason the sensitivity you were using on your other mouse, there is sensitivity matching you can do in the software. Simply put your mouse side by side and move them, and it will configure the DPI to match. Its pretty accurate and was only off slightly (but who's to say which sensor is more accurate). It also has battery saving mode which you can change in the software, as well as low power mode which will drop the sensor sensitivity when the mouse is low on power. And finally there is mouse mat calibration. With this setting you can set a cut off point for the sensor. Razer states the mouse is already calibrated, but you can adjust the smart tracking from low to high distance. I left mine at medium. The only real complaint I have with this mouse is the dongle. The mouse comes with a really nice braided USB-A to USB-C cable that you plug this triangular dongle into. It has an indicator light on it that you can set to tell you the battery level, connection status, or a battery warning. Thats all great but what I don't like is how its not a single USB dongle. It has to be attached to this cable and isn't low profile. The reason I don't like this is because it makes it impractical to use with a laptop. My other mouse has a very minimalistic USB dongle that isn't obtrusive to use with my laptop, whereas this would be. The lack of Bluetooth connectivity makes it a No-Go for use with my laptop. I understand why it lacks Bluetooth, but I still notice it missing. A minor gripe as this is going to be used exclusively with my desktop, but something other buyers should consider. In summary, this mouse really swayed my opinion on Razer back to favorable after a few bad apples in the past. I still find myself skeptical of how light this mouse is, but I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt that its an engineering marvel, and I am going to continue enjoying the mouse. I don't think I'll be able to go back to a normal mouse again after experiencing how nice this lightweight mouse is.

Great Includes 8000Hz dongle Light Larger hump is more comfortable Revised finish improves grip Larger skates Includes grip tap Matches sensitivity of your previous mouse Nice clicky switches Solid feel Straighter sides works with more grips Improved debounce Not so great Finish shows fingerprints easily Might be too large for some I prefer a little more slope on the sides Still not a fan of the DPI button on the bottom No visible way in game to see the current DPI setting No way to use the HyperPolling dongle on a laptop without the cord Design 9/10 The first thing you notice with the Viper V3 Pro is the new smooth touch finish. It does feel nice in the hand and doesn’t feel slippery. If there is as downside, it is that it’s a fingerprint magnet. The design has been updated to reduce the curves on the sides. If you prefer a mouse with curvier sides, you might not like the redesign as the sides are nearly straight. For the majority, the redesign offers more options. The mouse feels slightly longer, and the hump is a little taller. While only 4 grams lighter than the V2 Pro, the difference is noticeable. It also feels more solid with no rattles or hollow sounds. The skates are much larger than in the past. Included in the box now is the HyperPolling dongle. The only downside is if you want to use the HyperPolling dongle on a laptop you are going to have to carry around the USB cable as well. Unlike their previous dongles, this one doesn’t just plug straight into the USB port and is much larger. Buttons 9/10 The left and right mouse buttons have a solid clicky feel to them with that give solid feedback regardless of your finger placement. They also provide just enough resistance to prevent accidental activation when resting your fingers on the button. Razer claims they have improved debounce and it shows. No matter how fast I tried, each click registered as a single click. This is extremely helpful because usually at some point during gaming my fingers get tried and twitch slightly causing accidentally activation. So far, with the V3 Pro this hasn’t happened. The side buttons aren’t as clicky but still feel solid. Placement is good, at least for someone with larger hands using a palm grip. The side buttons sit high leaving plenty of room for the thumb to prevent accidental clicks. The one choice that still seems odd is placing the DPI button on bottom. Sure, you can use Synapse to automatically change DPI, but it would be nice to have a way to quickly change DPI without mapping a button. Software 8/10 While Synapse isn’t the most liked, it seems like Razer has calmed down a bit from previous versions pushing to have an account and to install extra apps. On startup, all that was needed was to skip creating an account and it didn’t do anything else besides bring me to the settings. A nice change from older versions. If you are the type who like to exactly match your old mouse Synapse now has a Sensitivity Matcher which allows the V3 Pro to measure the speed of your old mouse and duplicate it. It seems like a nice touch, but I prefer to start fresh with a new one. You can also set sensitivity in increments of 1 as well as make x and y settings independent if you prefer. The max number or stages is 5. Polling rate can be set the same across the board or you can Synapse to have a custom polling rate for games that switches automatically so you can save battery power when not playing games. Synapse does display current DPI settings as a popup when on the desktop but once in game you have no easy way to know what your DPI is set to if you change it. If you are the type who switches DPI mid game, you are going to be left guessing. Older mice had the DPI displayed direct on the mouse while others had an in-game popup. It would be nice if Razer had some option for those who change DPI settings while in game. Performance 10/10 The new larger skate lets V3 Pro glide much better than previous generations while feeling more planted. The 8000Hz polling rate is nice, but it is hard to tell any different beyond the 4000Hz range. It might be due to lack of skill but currently 4000Hz feels instant. Flick shots feel effortless but being honest I prefer the rough coating on older Razers because the textured finish just felt like I could grip better. That said, the smooth soft touch finish on the V3 Pro feels more premium and hasn’t slipped. It seems like the issue is mainly getting confident with new finish. Of course, this could be easily improved with grip tape, but I prefer not to stick anything extra on my mice. Final Thoughts The Razer Viper V3 Pro feels like an evolutionary versus revolutionary upgrade. Regardless, the upgrade takes what was originally a good mouse and makes it great.

First thing that stood out to me with this new Razer Viper V3 Pro Ultra was how light it is. Words cant really describe how light it is. I have several other gaming mice, and this one for sure is the overall sleekest and lightest of them all. The packaging comes with a braided USB type C cable, the wireless transmitter and grip tape for the mouse. It also has a rechargeable battery so battery life my vary. I only charged it after opening it, I haven't had to re-charge it yet after a couple of days of usage. The mouse has 8 buttons that are customizable. Feel: The Viper 3 feels pretty good, not too slippery in the hands. Super lightweight and quick and super responsive, however the mouse is pretty large for smaller hands. That took me a little while getting use of it. I'm not a pro level gamer, but I do notice the difference in my play while using this mouse versus my older gaming mouse. The mouse is well balanced with a minimalistic approach to design which works to it's advantage. Software: Downloading the Razer Synapse software is a must. Here I immediately changed the polling to test it out. Also, having the ability to change the polling rate to in-game only and adjusting it down while doing other things. This will help save battery life as increased polling rates will tear through the battery pretty quickly. Build: The scroll wheel texture and button clicks are pretty good. I'll have to see how they hold up long term. Overall gaming with this mouse will feel awesome to use. Only drawback would be cost, but having the dongle included does make me still recommend if you want to bring your game to the next level. I recommend checking this one out for yourself.

About 3 months of use and the mouse is starting to disconnect and reconnect at random while playing games. Trouble shooting steps provided by Razer have produced no results. Currently waiting on response from Razer for next steps and possible replacement since I'm outside of my Best Buy return period. I've owned wireless Logitech mice for nearly 20 years and never had this sort of issue, not great that my first ever Razer mice is already failing...

The first thing I noticed was how light this mouse is. The two mice I had prior to this were around 120 and 100 grams respectively, this mouse is nearly half that - at 54 grams. As a fingertip grip user, this makes for a much nicer experience - it's incredibly easy to fling around on the desk. The finish is a nice matte black. It's quite nice for grip as well - it just sticks to the fingers. The physical shape is fine, it feels a little odd but I may just not be used to it yet. One big gripe I have is that the DPI button is located on the bottom of the mice. I find it rather annoying to flip over the mice every time I want to switch DPI profiles, even if I don't do it very often. I'm not super picky about precision and polling rate when it comes to mice, but I've had zero complaints regarding either. It works great and feels great. The mouse can be used either wired or wirelessly with the included dongle. The dongle uses a cable, which can be rather annoying to have yet another cable from computer to desk, but I suppose that's the sacrifice you have to make if you want an 8000hz polling rate. The dongle does have a light which can indicate battery life however which is nice. Speaking of battery life, so far it's great. I've had about two weeks of light usage now (at 1000hz polling rate - the higher the polling rate the lower the battery life), and I'm still sitting at 58%. A simple USB-C cable is all that's needed to charge, and you can plug it in to the top of the mouse and it looks like any other wired mouse. And you can use it while charging, no waiting for it to charge. If you want to make full use of of the mouse, you'll need to download Razer Synapse. Synapse allows you to change the functions of the buttons and add macros should you so desire, change DPI profiles, change the polling rate, and create as many profiles as you want. I'm not a huge fan of needing additional software to make use of devices, I hate getting my OS cluttered. That being said, you could probably edit a (single!) profile to your preferences and then uninstall Synapse. TL:DR Nice finish, super light, DPI button on bottom, Synapse needed for full features.

The world of computer mice is vast. The market is flooded with every flavor, size, price, and quality. I did my research and had several similar mice in a few different price ranges in mind. I ended up going with the Razer Viper V3 Pro, in white, due to being wireless, the capability of 8k hz polling, its size, and texture. This is a fantastic mouse, albeit expensive, but I would consider it worth every penny. The responsiveness and weight makes it a joy to use. The optical sensors and buttons are crisp and lightning fast. I’ve noticed having an easier time managing recoil and accuracy in FPS games coming from a heavier, slower mouse. I also do a lot of CAD/CAM for work and the ergonomics are a great bonus for my size of hand and my claw/palm grip. I would definitely recommend this mouse to those that can afford it. If you’re on the fence, take my advice and try it out. I don’t think anyone would be disappointed in choosing this mouse over anything else.

This mouse is amazing! It's a clear upgrade from the V2 Pro (and older Vipers) it has a new shape and even better specifications. The shape is now different (higher hump, and straighter sides) this makes the mouse feel much more "safe" and the higher hump gives you more stability especially in a claw grip. The weight is now 54g (black) 55g (white) and its very well balanced. You will be shocked how light this feels when you unbox it! For the buttons they all feel excellent with no quality issues. Razer even managed to upgrade the sensor as its now capable of 35k DPI and you get the hyperpolling 8k wireless dongle right in the box (no extra purchase necessary) so thats just awesome. When it comes to the battery life It's outstanding as well. Overall I'd highly recommend this mouse (yes its pricey) but worth the investment if you want the best of the best!

    My new #1 mouse

I've now gone through several different mouse options, including multiple lightweight, wireless gaming mice, and with each one I've had they keep getting better and better. At this point though it seems to be very small improvements, but improvements nonetheless, culminating in what is the best mouse I've had to date in this Razer Viper V3 Pro. First off, it's important to mention for people just looking for a wireless mouse that this is NOT a bluetooth mouse. It still requires a wireless receiver, or in this case a dongle with a separate cable. That's not a bad thing though, this mouse is designed for gaming where speed and performance matter the most, where even the smallest performance advantage can be the difference between winning and losing a game, and a bluetooth mouse just isn't going to keep up as well. As for that performance, this Razer definitely performs. The speed and precision is top notch. So far the only performance issues I've had in games is the human controlling the mouse! Let's be clear, I'm not at the same level as the big pros out there, but having a mouse that's capable like this still, I can still see a slight improvement in my game. Now back to the wireless aspect. With the receiver requiring a wire, that means you can place it closer to where you have your mouse instead of further away or even at the back of a pc. Some people may not even be able to notice much difference, but again, any performance advantage can be a game changer, literally. Also though, you can bypass the receiver too and plug the cable directly into the mouse for a more standard wired setup. This is something you'll need to do anyway once in a while since the battery can't charge itself! Speaking of the battery, Razer claims it has up to 95 hours of life. I honestly haven't even had this mouse long enough to use it that long to see if that claim holds up, but I'm currently still on my initial charge and feel I gotta be close by now. Having a battery that lasts like this is definitely a confidence booster too. Last thing anyone wants is for your mouse to just quit working mid-game. While all of that is great, it doesn't mean much if it's not comfortable to hold and comfortable to use. As I've said, I've now owned multiple different mice, but I've found that I like the Razer products the best and that's what my previous mouse was, a Razer Deathadder. Jumping into this Viper instantly felt familiar. The design is slightly different, but similar enough that the very first time I used this new mouse it just felt right being in my hand. Except at a whole other level. It is amazingly light. I actually put it on a jewelry scale to verify the weight and it actually came in just a hair below the advertised 54 grams! Being so light isn't just nice for quicker reactions and use, but also for less strain over those marathon gaming sessions. Mix that with the slick pads underneath, and this mouse almost feels like it's hovering over the surface. I also like the fact that Razer includes some extra grippier decals. Not everyone needs or even wants them, but it's nice to have that option. I personally don't use them so can't really comment on them more than that. Overall I love this Razer Viper V3 Pro. It is now my main go to mouse, not just for gaming, but also everyday use. Between gaming and also being in software, I practically live with a mouse in my hand, and this makes life so much easier. If there's one negative it would just be the higher price. But as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. If you are putting together a new setup, need to upgrade really old equipment, or need a gaming mouse, I think it's worth it. If you already have something that's not that old, unless you're looking to jump into a different grip style, it may not be worth it. As I said at the start, although they keep improving mouse technology, those improvements aren't so big they're a must have. Regardless, if you're looking for a mouse, and quality and performance is important to you, then this is most definitely the mouse I would recommend.

This mouse is a very high-quality gaming device for serious gamers. It comes with the mouse, USB cable, USB dongle, rubber grips and razor stickers. I was surprised at how light weight it is! As soon I connected it the USB cable to charge, I was prompted to download the Razer Synapse software. It guided me through the process of updating the dongle and mouse. In less than 2 hours the mouse was fully charged and ready to go wirelessly. The USB cable remains connected to the PC and the dongle connects to the USB cable. The dongle provides the super-fast connection via the mouse and PC. The Synapse software provides multiple customization options such as mouse speed, connection speed, calibration and key re-assignments. There is the normal mouse click buttons, scroll wheel and two additional reprogrammable function buttons on the left side of the mouse. The bottom of the mouse has two smooth surface pads that provide friction free movement. There are optional rubber grips that can be attached for a better control. I tried the mouse with and without the rubber grips and it worked great either way. I prefer the grips due to the additional control I feel it gives. There weren't any instructions on where they attached, but it was rather easy to figure out based on the shapes. I normally prefer mice with a little more weight, but I'm impressed with how it feels and responds. It is large enough to give a good grip and light weight to effortlessly control. I tested it with several FPS games, and it is the most comfortable and responsive mouse that I've ever used. It helps to reduce fatigue in long gaming sessions and the battery life seems to be very good. There is an indicator light on the dongle that can be configured to indicate different indicators such as mouse battery life and connection status. I like that I can easily see the battery status with green as fully charged, yellow as medium charge and red as low battery life. If you are serious about gaming, I highly recommend this mouse. It looks good and functions just as great. It will give you that extra edge in comfort and super responsive control.

The Razer Viper V3 Pro is hands down the best mouse I’ve owned for gaming. It’s insanely lightweight, which makes it super easy to flick and track in fast-paced games. The sensor feels extremely accurate and responsive—no lag at all. Battery life is excellent; I’ve gone weeks of daily use without needing to charge. I also love that I can just plug the dongle into a USB-C cable and use it wired if I want. The shape is comfortable for long sessions, and the build quality feels solid

The Razer Viper V3 Pro is a game-changer for serious gamers. Right out of the box, its ultra-lightweight design (just 58 grams) stands out, making extended gaming sessions incredibly comfortable without fatigue. The wireless connectivity is seamless, and with a whopping 95-hour battery life, I rarely worry about recharging—even during marathon gaming weekends. The performance is exceptional, thanks to the Focus Pro 30K Optical Sensor. It delivers pinpoint accuracy and quick responsiveness, perfect for FPS games where precision matters. The HyperSpeed wireless technology ensures a lag-free experience, rivaling even wired mice. A bonus is the textured grip and ergonomic shape, which accommodates different hand sizes and grip styles. The build feels sturdy yet refined. While the mouse is clearly performance-focused, its understated design makes it versatile for work and everyday use. My only minor suggestion would be to include a USB-C charging cable for faster recharging, but it’s hardly a dealbreaker given the battery longevity. Overall, the Razer Viper V3 Pro combines performance, comfort, and style in one sleek package. Highly recommended for gamers seeking top-tier quality.

Over the years, Razer has been my go-to for most of my gaming and computer peripherals including their high-performance mice. With the release of Razer’s new Viper V3 Pro mouse, they continue to impress and one up themselves by somehow making it even lighter and faster. I’ll start by mentioning I have owned every generation of Razer’s Viper mouse line as well as other manufacturers and I always end up back with the Viper line mice for several reasons. Unboxing the V3 Pro was about as simple and self-explanatory as you can get, especially if you’ve owned Razer Products in the past and don’t have to install any new software; basically, a simple plug-and-play peripheral. If you haven’t, I would suggest downloading the recommended Razer software that can be used to customize the Viper along with any other Razer peripherals. In the box includes the mouse, USB-C charger and dongle for the wireless connection, instructions and grip stickers for the mouse that you can either install or leave off depending on your preference. Once the mouse is fully charged, you are good to go on most computers that automatically sense new devices and install the appropriate drivers if necessary. Although I’m sure I have become “groomed” and accustomed to the Vipers’ design and ergonomics over the years, in my opinion it just feels more comfortable in comparison to the competition. After previously using other mice, I have noticed my hand will sometimes cramp up over time. With the new Viper V3 Pro, the design and aesthetics are identical to their last V2 model until you look “under the hood”. Being that both models are extremely light, the V3 weighs only 54 grams, you probably won’t notice a difference in the weight. However, once you flip it over to check out the underbelly and begin to use it, you’ll notice how much more “buttery” smooth it feels because of the larger slip pads on the bottom which cover more surface area and make it easier to maneuver. Utilizing the included Razer HyperPolling wireless dongle, which has a true 8000 Hz wireless polling rate, coupled with their Gen-3 optical mouse switches and the Gen-2 Razer Focus Pro optical sensor, which has smart tracking, motion sync and asymmetric cut-off, the gaming competition won’t know what hit them with such precise movement and lightning-fast responses. The other benefit that I almost always forget about, only because I rarely have to do it, is the rechargeable battery lasts nearly 100 hours on a single charge meaning less down time. As I mentioned previously, the Razer Viper family has always been my favorite mouse and the new V3 Pro did not disappoint. I would highly recommend the new Viper V3 Pro, as well as many other Razer products, to anyone in the market for the latest and greatest peripherals and want a leg up on the competition or even as an everyday mouse.
